While looking through some old photos and word documents on my hard drive, I found all these photos from my Royal Caribbean cruise trip from FLL in 2008. I also found a word document I started of this trip as well. So, I thought I would share since its a rare Caribbean trip report so here goes:
Sister aircraft V2-LFL landing on runway 10 at MNI
This flight was uneventful which I found unusual especially coming into ANU. The flight was smooth with no turbulence whatsoever! This was unlucky for me, because I enjoyed my previous bumpy approaches into ANU on the twinotter!
I decided to try Caribbean Airlines’ web check in. even though the normal check in line wasn’t that long lol. It was quick and we were in the departure lounge before we knew it.
My BW flight arrived from Barbados on-time and in no time it was soon time to depart to KIN. I noticed my aircraft was 9Y-GEO the first 738 delivered to BWIA and from my record this would be my first flight on this aircraft and first in a 737 with winglets!
Take off was really quick as we got in the air in no time
Pic of the winglet cruising at 35000ft
The legroom was quite good:
The food was also quite good also except there was no desert like on BWIA. Sorry I forgot to take pics of the food lol.
We started to descend about 30min before scheduled arrival. I was quite anxious to get to KIN because I wanted to see how much the airport has changed since I last went there in 2006.
As we arrived the pilot literally dropped the plane onto the runway but there was no damage done, the FA announced: “Ladies and gentlemen we’ve just dropped into Norman Manley Intl.” lol
We finally taxied off the runway and I was surprised that not 1 JM aircraft was there (besides the parked A340-300) the only plane that was there was an American 738!

American 738 parked at gate 10
We finally parked at gate 7 (a jet bridge!) and deplaned. We then had to take this extremely long walk to Immigration and then baggage claim.
After spending a week with relatives, it was time to go on the next leg on my journey.
Check in didn’t take all that long (probably a 20 min wait) and then I was through security in a flash then I took the escalator up to the departure lounge. I wasn’t schedule to depart till 10, so I took some pics:
My American 738 parked at gate 7 and air Jamaica A321 at gate 8

AA 738 KX 732 & JM A321

We took off from Rwy 30 instead of Rwy 12 and we took off to FLL!
The legroom was quite good
Flight time was about an hour and a half which passed quickly even with the boring IFE and lack of food (a normal AA flight)
We landed at about 12 50pm local time and taxied for a long period to our gate at terminal 4. soon after a JM A320 arrived from KIN via MBJ (which left before us in KIN) and it parked next to us. After going through immigration and collecting my bags and exited the terminal and was greeted by my cousin and his mom. Then the weather turned horrible and started raining and this continued during my long drive to Port St Lucie, FL to spend a week with other relatives.
Sunday July 20th
After spending a week with my relatives, it was time to head back to Fort Lauderdale via the long drive which was quite boring but I did manage to catch a pic of a delta MD 80 land at west palm, PBI, however I wasnt able to locate that photo, not to worry it wasnt a good photo from what I remember.
After the long drive to FLL we stopped at a Comfort Inn near to port everglades where my cruise ship would be the next day.
