Here are few flights I took in May, 2012. It's mostly meals but I can fill in any details if anyone's interested.

UA1721 DEN-IAH
757-300, N57857
11:30 a.m. – 2:55 p.m.
3B (First Class)
Lunch

This was an all PMCO trip; I was pleasantly surprised by the service. Really good crews who seemed to do everything by the book.

Pre-departure drinks (full selection) were served; I chose a refreshing Bombay Sapphire and tonic.

After takeoff, beverages and warm nuts were served. Orders were taken front-back; a chicken salad or a "steak wrap." I chose the former.

The salad was quite nice; sliced chicken served on top of mixed greens, with sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and a few kalamata olives. "Classic Caesar" dressing (two tubs), a roll/butter, croutons, a bowl of tomato bisque and a small fruit bowl (pineapple, green melon and red grapes) were also on the tray. Everything tasted fresh and was served at the correct temperature.

I had a glass of Canyon Road Pinot Noir (not outstanding but not offensive either) with my lunch.

Man, those 757-300s are looooooong!

After lunch, warm, oatmeal raisin cookies were served in bags. The two flight attendants serving F kept circulating throughout the flight, refilling drinks. We arrived in hot, humid Houston about 15 minutes early.

UA1070 IAH-BWI
737-900
3:45 p.m. – 7:52 p.m.
2E (First Class)
Snack

Another good crew; predeparture drink service consisted of a full selection. This 737-900 had DirecTV so I went straight for TCM and watched an old Frank Capra movie called "Lady for a Day" that I enjoyed a great deal.

After takeoff, drinks and pretzels were served (no warm nuts on snack flights), soon followed by the snack service. Another G&T for me, please.

The chicken pasta snack, with sliced chicken, spiral pasta, a few shredded carrots and red cabbage, and a tomato wedge. On the side were a fruit bowl (oranges, pineapple, green melon and red grapes), a package of Jacob's Cream Crackers and a slice of Tillamook Medium Cheddar cheese. While quite simple, this snack was pretty substantial and was quite tasty.

I enjoyed a cup of coffee (note the old-style CO mug) and my dessert, a Love and Quiches Butterscotch Brownie. The crew remained "on" and a second round of drinks was served before landing. We were on time.

I gotta get my hands on some of those!!!

The chicken pasta snack, with sliced chicken, spiral pasta,

I believe this is an ex-UA dish; we certainly never saw it on CO until after the merger. It's an improvement over CO's "cold deli" plate, which was two slices of turkey, two slices of salami, two sweet pickles, a couple of unidentifiable pickled vegetables, celery sticks, and carrot sticks.

I would like to put one in by bag but they are a little bit too bulky!

That chicken/pasta snack is a recent invention. I remember the snack you describe from an EWR-DEN flight I took in December 2011 (a 7:30 p.m. or so departure). It was OK, but a bit skimpy for a flight of that length.

I would like to see some more variety in the cold plate option, though. Since they cut the meal windows after 2/1, dozens of former meal flights now see the cold plate, and it seems that they have even tweaked some departure times by a few minutes to keep flights out of the windows!

The chicken pasta salad is good the first 20 or so times, then it starts to get a bit old...

UA3 BWI-IAH
737-800, N33273
5:40 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
3B (First Class)
Dinner

We departed a little bit late due to the late arrival of the aircraft from LAX. For some reason, the BWI flights are completely overstaffed with a bunch of rather pompous old-school CO agents who don't seem to do anything other than mill around and make a lot of superfluous announcements.

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a2d826b3127ccef01be9b6018a00000030O01BcsmrFm5Yg9vPgI/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D720/ry%3D480/

After takeoff (no beverages at all offered pre-departure), I chose a Jack and Diet Coke to go with my warm almonds. A choice of a shrimp salad or a "chicken wrap" was offered. This aircraft did not have DirecTV, so I tried hard to ignore a big old chick flick called "The Vow" playing overhead.

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a2d826b3127ccef01a37e6a0c900000030O01BcsmrFm5Yg9vPgI/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D720/ry%3D480/

Mixed greens with cabbage and cucumber, topped with several nice shrimp, along with a lemon wedge and two tubs of Classic Caesar dressing.

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a2d826b3127ccef01abb47211e00000030O01BcsmrFm5Yg9vPgI/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D720/ry%3D480/

The salad was delicious, and tasted very fresh. The "artichoke" soup turned out to be cream of broccoli, but was quite tasty, if a bit salty. A small fruit bowl (pineapple, melon and red grapes) and a roll/butter were also on the tray. No dessert was served, the same as the EWR-DEN flight I took a couple of weeks ago, so I'm not sure if this is the norm.

There are no BusinessFirst seats on the 753 or 738, a domestic first class seat. The BusinessFirst lay flat seats are on the sCO 752's, all 41 of them.

Quoting kurt (Reply 5):
if a bit salty

After all that food how much did you swell from sodium?

I have just about stopped eating most of the food on UA until they find a way to serve something without all that salt.

Very nice report and pictures.
