Wow, great trip report. The DC-3 is the most amazing, and safest, aircraft ever built. There is no other aircraft it's age still flying commercial service on a regular basis. Very exciting to see it in action!

Wow, lucky...
Were you in Yellowknife just to fly the DC-3? How did you end up talking your way into the right seat?

Wow...just wow!!! How cool is it that you got to fly with THE Buffalo Joe! I love watching the show and would love to take a ride on any of their aircraft. The DC-3 you flew appears to be beautifully cared for and I can only imagine where it's flown to in its long lifetime. Back in the 80's we used to take many trips to the U.S. Virgin Islands and had many flights aboard Aero Virgin Island's DC-3's. Quite a few flights so I guess I'm DC-3 spoiled...but back then I didn't take it as seriously on the nostalgia factor...the planes were neat but felt routine back then. I would think very differently today if those AVI flights still ran. Great pictures on a neat airline....with some amazing operating museum pieces.
