After I have written a trip report for CX460 from Hong Kong to Taipei, I have received tons of replies and supports. First of all, I would like to take this chance to thank all of you. This time, I have resized all the photos to 600x450 in order to get a faster connection for you guys to download the photos.
On 26/6/2002, I took CX421 to go back to Hong Kong from Taipei. This time, I took a Boeing 777-267 (B-HNL). I have completed the online check-in through Cathay Pacific’s website one day before departure. I have chosen seat 64A in order to get a good view to take all the photos.
I arrived Taipei C.K.S. International Airport at around 11:00 (an hour early) in order to get more time to take some photos inside Taipei C.K.S. International Airport. From the photo below, you can see the check-in counters of China Airlines at row 6B.
And a little car show also.
Cathay Pacific’s check-in counters are situated at row 3A/B. Since there were lots of Cathay Pacific’s flights, there was a long queue for economy class check-in. Luckily, I have completed the check-in process through the internet, I did not need to use much time on the queue.
But there was only a queue at the check-in counters for Business/First Class.
CX421 was scheduled to takeoff at 12:20. It flew from Korea, and of course, it was on time now.
The immigration is situated at the third floor in the airport.
Before going to the immigration, I have tried the seat in the airport. And it was not quite comfortable, honestly.
CX421 was assigned to park at Gate B6. (2 photos)
Once I have arrived the gate, B-HNL was already taxiing to the gate. (3 photos)
Once B-HNL parked, the truck from China Pacific was going to supply all the necessaries to CX421 from Taipei to Hong Kong.
And of course, B-HNL needed some re-fuels also.
The captain was going to have a circle check on B-HNL.
It’s time to get onboard! Let us have a look inside. The seat configuration for a Cathay Pacific’s B777-200 is 3-3-3 in economy class.
Each economy class seat is equipped with a personal TV for inflight entertainment.
This is the controller for the PTV.
The flight attendants were helping customers to put their bags up to the compartment.
Seat belt has been turned on, please fasten your seat belt.
One China Airlines B737-800 (B-18609) was parked at gate B7, just next to us.
The leg room for me (175cm) is not enough since there was a small server for the PTV.
B-HNL was pushed back on time at 12:22.
After pushed back, we taxied to runway 24 for departure.
Once we had entered the runway, B-HNL was ready to takeoff.
Since CX421 was an afternoon flight, we were severed with a lunch.
Today’s cruising altitude is FL390, quite high. Here, we can see the western part of Taiwan.
Nice weather while we were cruising at FL390.
We were going to have a Astra 1A arrival for runway 25R, we were descending to 8000 feets before we were approach TD VOR.
And turning right heading 340 to established the localizer, still reducing speed.
2 mintues later, we were going to have a left turn at RIVER to established the localizer.
And we are able to see “Sai Kung” here.
After we have established the localizer, we will have a chance to see the whole Kowloon. Don’t forget to have a look at Kai Tak International Airport (closed).

While we were taxiing to parking, we had to get pass two towers.
We have parked and two Dragonair Airbus were parking next to us. Welcome to Hong Kong!!

congratulate on this nice photo presentation.. i love it very much.
how ever on the picture number 12 of final approach, i noticed there are lots of car there. is that a traffic jam going on or thats were the taxi waiting there? hope to read your upcoming trip report.

There is a reason why they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Your 90something photos here... wow... you didn't have to write anything, actually! Good work! I am still patiently trying to let the pics of the HKG approach download, for some reason they do not want to.
CKS looks like its in need of a re-furbishment, terribly! Looks a bit like JM Davey terminal in Detroit, but with Chinese characters! Hahaha... And the departure info board was just a jumble of information... I don't even know where to begin to read! That poor old woman must have been sitting at Gate B6 since Taiwan became... well Taiwan! Hahaha....
The CX cabin looks pretty comfortable, but the 3-3-3 arrangement is not really ideal for those at the window seat, is it? By the way, your meal looks delicious.
Now I need you to tell me something. Slowly in detail, pretend you are talking to an idiot (that's me), how do you download the photographs into your report? I NEED TO KNOW! BECAUSE I TAKE TONS OF DIGI-PHOTOS DURING MY TRIPS!!!

This is undoubtedly the coolest trip report I'd read I had a similar view of Tsing Ma Bridge and old Kai Tak when I was on UA895. Also I heard B-HNL is the only CX 772 with a 3-3-3 configuration, all others have 2-5-2.
