Please visit my BLOG to see my full trip report. We flew BA 278 LAX to LHR then BA 344 LHR to NCE, took the TGV from Aix-en-Provence to Paris, BA 344 CDG to LHR, then BA 001 LCY to JFK via SNN.
We actually missed BA 001 at 1 PM because we miscalculated the time required to get from London Eye to LCY pre-Olympic the day the "Olympic Lane" went into effect. However, we were able to get on BA 003 that left at 4 PM. I'm not much of a writer or professional photographer but I hope you'll enjoy the pictures nonetheless. Any comment or question is welcomed...but please be nice.
We drove from Nice to St. Tropez, spent the day at the Plage de Pampelonne, then headed up through the mountains to Valensole to stay the night. It was about a 4-hour drive. Apparently, we should have gone a little more north in the Valensole Plateau for better and larger lavender fields.
Quoting lychemsa (Reply 1): I also loved St Tropez but the ocean was cold.
It's so much better than swimming in Malibu. The Mediterranean Sea is actually warmer than the Pacific Ocean. I lived in Los Angeles for over 10 years and only swam in the Pacific Ocean once because it's too cold.

I lived in Los Angeles for 8 years and I never went swimming even once. After putting in my feet I ran out. Also heard that some people get skin rashes due to the pollution.

Quoting jwhite9185 (Reply 3): Nice report there - you were lucky you managed to catch both Olympic liveries!
Indeed! I was very surprised. I should have taken some interior shots of both planes though. The interiors were old and the seats were visibly worn.

The one time I tried to swim in Malibu in August, I suddenly got very bad headache after being in the water for 5 minutes. I wonder if it were due to the sudden loss of body heat. Haha!
