This trip to India was my last international non-revenue trip before leaving my job at ExpressJet Airlines (Continental Express). As you're all aware, this trip is a bit of airline history as CO no longer exists; however, I loved CO and always firmly believed in the airline's superior product, service, and food.
I somehow managed to reach EWR despite very full flights and miraculously found a seat on CO 82, EWR to DEL, despite a very full and oversold flight. I took this trip in June 2010 and at the time, CO had recently installed its new BusinessFirst flat-bed seating on the 777 fleet. Thankfully, this aircraft had the new seats, and I enjoyed them for 14 hours to DEL.
Waiting for my flight at gate 90 at EWR.
777-200ER Ship #017 rests at gate 90 prior to operating CO 82 to DEL.
Into the Presidents Club for some pre-departure relaxation.
Ship #017 basks in the EWR sunset.
Nice view of the #2 GE90.
In the climb-out from EWR.
Ready for a long flight!
Awesome menu with great selections. I was always impressed with CO's food service in BusinessFirst.
A snack to begin the dinner service.
Appetizer of shrimp cocktail and an Indian treat.
Salad with walnuts.
The tandoori gosht (lamb) was amazing.
It came with some great sauces, too!
Ice cream sundae with another Indian treat.
Passing over western Russia, en route to DEL.
Enjoying four episodes of my favorite show, The Big Bang Theory.
Mid-flight snack included fresh fruit.
Tasty mid-flight treats.
Passing over desert expanses in Uzbekistan.
Serious mountain range!
More fresh fruit, for the pre-arrival meal.
The pre-arrival meal.
A final view of the #2 GE90 on the descent into DEL.
Spoilers deployed on the descent.
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to India. I spent a day sight-seeing in Delhi, then continued to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, and then ended the trip in Chennai for my friend's wedding.

PS: CO will always have a special place in my heart

I will always miss the old Continental, "One Airline Can Make a Difference." I was really devastated when I heard United would be splashed across the Continental fleet, but then again, it's more what's inside that counts. And unfortunately, I have yet to experience anything superior with United and the amenities and service inside its' aircraft. Oh well. At least we will have our memories!
The food looks absolutely delicious and definitely sets the mood for your visit to India!
Thank you for taking the time to post this and I wish you prosperity and happiness with your new career endeavors!!!

Gr8 report mate! I took the same flight back in may! I was travelling economy though , but still I had a pretty good flight!
From what the FA told me was that they were doing pretty well on this route and flights used to be quite full!
I hope I can sample the J class product on united long haul soon

Wow. I am positively impressed by this CO review. The meal service looks absolutely awesome. Good job really. Would be interesting to take this route now and see the difference. My recent experiences with UA has been VERY mediocre - which is bizarre because I like UA, am a Lifetime 2M, and used to have super good experiences with them across the board pre-merger.

Hi, many thanks for the trip report.
I was a die hard CO customer from the UK, given the pick of a direct flight with BA or a stop with CO they would win each time, and the reason was the hard product and service. As your pictures show the food service in J was always brilliant.
How I miss them, great Menu choice always.
Thanks for that memory moment.
you don't get a second chance to make a first impression!
