"The CR-K to go, heading for Nantes"

Bonne journée, dear readers,

a relaxed late afternoon arrival yesterday from

AB, Swiss Made, To Visit A New Unesco Site (by FLIEGER67 Sep 14 2012 in Trip Reports)

and a shorty night ahead at the homebase once more.
I need to pick up some people at BSL airport Saturday evening.
That might be a good idea to park the car Friday morning at BSL, doing some flights and heading back to the airport Saturday late afternoon, ready ontime for the pick up. Well, that´s at least my point of view to clear the requirements!.

Now that´s a nice zigzag routing for today, isn´t it?:

http://www.gcmap.com/map?P=mlh-ory-mrs-nte&MS=wls&MR=120&MX=540x540&PM=*

Thanx to, once again:

http://www.gcmap.com/

There is an immediate need to catch up a new departure airport, logged here with no. 220:

Departure Airports II auf einer größeren Karte anzeigen

The actual done routes:

Tripreporters Flüge II auf einer größeren Karte anzeigen

And the first 200 departure airports:

No more time to wait now, on the way again.

Service Air France AF 7335 operated by Brit Air
Scheduled: 08.35 // 09.40

A lazy late morning departure with two more hours on the road turns out like a close to standard wake up time for me.
Up at 04.00 am and short thereafter on the way through the black forrest.
Safely arrived to say the least with all these crazy drivers and lot´s of trucks around these Friday morning.
Well, someone should transport all these internet orders through the night for a quick home delivery!.
F3 is the place to park the car. By surprise OLCI works perfectly fine after some other previous no OLCI experiences ex MLH.
Seats selected, no printout as usual. Something to collect from the self service kiosks at the airport.
Wideroe saved the booking this time,
leg one and two on one confirmation, the fare per leg
50.00 Euro´s this way.
Not that much pax around here.
Close to no time to wait at security and heading for, usually the lounge, but not at MLH.
"Wir wünschen einen angenehmen Flug", well, not for BA today, but "Al heure" from gate 1 looks like ok with me
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202001.jpg
There is the CR-K on schedule, sure ok for me.
Something like this short to the gate
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202002.jpg
And the reg shot shows me with F-HMLJ a new one for the log. Leg no. 7 on type
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202005.jpg
In service with Brit Air since 01.09.2011. There are 13 planes on type in the fleet
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202008.jpg
08.35 am, perfectly ontime, "Britair" and me leaving 16 degrees with this wet mess and it´s heavy rain now from the 3900 meters runway "One-Five" without a further stop.
Cockpit crew is from France. The captain with a very short welcome during taxi, once again short prior to descent. No route or flightlevel info.
45 minutes to go for ORY
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202009.jpg
A much better feeling here inside with the bright grey clean leather seats.
Legroom is ok here in 3A, two seats for me
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202010.jpg
Forward cabin view, the load is 40% only with mostly biz pax on the way
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202011.jpg
Cabin crew is one elder ok male FA together with an also elder and nice woman.
Service is a croissant, water, coffee, tea for free.
"Consignes de securite", sure
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202012.jpg
Inde, well, maybe
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202013.jpg
An winglet cruising through the clouds and you know, it´s not the best place for a calm cruise directly at the top of the cloud layer. Shaky all the time till our descent
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202015.jpg
Much better weather conditions close to ORY
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202016.jpg
Racecourses anyone?
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202017.jpg
Or also some castles to go
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202018.jpg
Touchdown at the 3320 meters runway "Two-Six". 9.35 am, short ahead to schedule, 14 cloudy degrees here.
Welcome to ORY
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202019.jpg
No way for the black clouds to bother me, the sun is coming
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202020.jpg
ORY, where you should take the chance to shuttle by the free Orlyval train to terminal Sud for some interesting planes like this
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202021.jpg
Or also maybe this way
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202022.jpg
Aigle Azur, why not, if it´s possible?
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202023.jpg
Anytime when I´am here, it is a sudden exotic north african feeling here. At least it smells this way!.
There are a couple of interesting flights on the screen
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202024.jpg
For example Iran Air bound for LJU
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202025.jpg
Ok, time flies, I should return to Orly Ouest now.

Service AF 7612 operated by Air France
Scheduled: 15.20 // 16.45

This leg is booked by AF directly.
The fare real good again with 45.00 Euro´s.
OLCI works well, no printout as usual.
And no problem to catch the boarding pass at AF´s service desk airside.
Well, it seems someone noticed my comment with the warmer climate needed and decided that I should spend some more time in Marseille
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202047.jpg
There is a non staffed lounge place called "Luberon" available. No airside views and it looks like really small from the outside, so not used today.
Well, who knows what the AF guys doing behind the walls?.
More delay on the screen for NTE and a loud "Ah" from the pax waiting.
ORY close to the same time shows minutes thereafter cancelled. A gate change and this one is heading for my new gate.
AF is working hard to keep the A320 on top of my flown planes list. Simply to prevent Germanwings and the A319 to take suddenly over!.
F-HBNE is the scheduled A320, leg no. 88 on type and new to the log.
With AF since 15.04.2011. Another one of the 62 in the fleet
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202048.jpg
Boarding started much earlier than the last announced time. So it seems, we´re captured the ORY plane.
3.50 pm, 30 minutes late, is the final time for "Airfrance" on the 1 hour, 20 minutes stretch to the west.
Departure from "Three-One-Right" like arrivals, leaving these nice 26 partly cloudy degrees here.
Cockpit crew is from France.
The captain with a short info and apologize for the delay during boarding, but no reason announced.
He´s once more to hear during descent later on.
Legroom is acceptable here with the dark blue fabric seats. The cabin is clean so far
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202049.jpg
Cabin crew is two male FA´s. One young and nice, the other one middle aged and well, biz friendly.
There are also two female FA´s on the plane. One younger, nice and another middle aged woman. I should do AF more often, so it seems.
Oh, la la again, large, powerful, short black hair, always smiling, really nice.
"Consignes de securite", sure also here
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202050.jpg
Cabin view and thankfully no, this is not the same plane
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202051.jpg
The load is again very close to 100% with me in 31A, the two seater in the last row with the aisle also taken. Good biz for AF here.
Seaside approach
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202052.jpg
And a few clouds only
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202053.jpg
But some more of them close to Nantes
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202054.jpg
Anyway with the sea in the distance it looks like ok
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202055.jpg
Heavy crosswinds on finals for the 2900 meters runway "Two-One"
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202056.jpg
5.05 pm, twenty minutes late and 18 partly cloudy degrees here.
Someone should do this Volotea machine ex Nantes soon
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202057.jpg
Or what about Air Med?
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202058.jpg
Looks like classy this way
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202059.jpg
Air France in the mirror
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202060.jpg
Bye now to F-HBNE
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202062.jpg
Another Volotea machine on the apron
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202063.jpg
And also a Fokker 50 is here
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202064.jpg
TAN shuttles me by bus to the main train station.
Always good to know, when I´ve walked up and down the streets, finally located the hotel and noticed that the bus runs also very close along the hotel!.
Tell me, if someone secured these irony out button?.
Well, some first impressions from my hotel and Nantes.
Let´s go.

This is hotel Belfort
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202093.jpg
Sure ok with 60.00 Euro´s B&B
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202065.jpg
The bathroom
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202066.jpg
Now that looks like really special.

Towards the old town

Yes, this is a castle

Ancient war times anyone?
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202071.jpg
Also nice to spend some minutes in the grass
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202072.jpg
Or have a break here

To follow some planes
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202074.jpg
No question, this way for the airport
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202075.jpg
Sure a well lit city
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202076.jpg
What about a view inside?. More to come
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202077.jpg
Old town walking
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/F1202/F1202078.jpg
There are some more pictures to show, but I will go for a break now.
The old town offers intense Friday nightlife, lot´s of people around, bars and clubs. I was really suprised, nothing expected like this in Nantes.
Coming up soon here together with a really special plane type on french domestic routes!.

Do not forget the conclusions:
Air France MLH-ORY: Shaky on the way but ok so far.
Air France ORY-MRS: La Navette filled up to the limits.
Air France MRS-NTE: Better than expected with the full load.

Au revoir, comments welcome,

Hi Markus !

Merci for a nice report with nice pictures !

Good to see you try some more flights on Air France and good to see that you flew on some aircraft you haven't been on yet.

Nantes looks nice especially for a short visit.

Surprising that AF flies a 320 MRS-NTE.

Looking forward to return report!

Hi Markus,

These early morning starts from MLH, lorries slowing the traffic down through the Black Forest, carpark F3, CR-K / ORY, it all looks so familiar!

Out of interest, did AF/Wideroe offer you that 3 leg routing automatically or did you get it with a multi city itinerary? Seems quite unusual (but good for the Flying Blue Account!).

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Well, someone should transport all these internet orders through the night for a quick home

The hotel looked nice in Nantes, not bad at all for 60E and wouldn’t have expected the boutique style behind that exterior.

Looking forward to reading about the return legs,

Happy flying

Nice report covering some domestic flying with AF. Nice to fly the CRK again, a plane I'd like to log!

No, there are no raindrops to see here in this picture

What is it then?

Hello Markus,

It seems like you’ve found yourself another home country with France. You’ve certainly covered the French domestic network very well by now. Btw, nice report!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
There are 13 planes on type in the fleet

So if one would like to get on a CRK, Brit Air is the one you need. That makes it about the largest CRK operator in Europe? Or is that rather Air Nostrum?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Or also maybe this way
Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Air Caraibes, I should do this somedays, or someone else also?

Ha ha, did you book yourself as well on the € 130 error fare to PFP or FDF?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Short black hair, powerful and the power exactly where the power should be!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Cabin view and thankfully no, this is not the same plane

I think it’s really unprofessional to dispose of the curtain like that.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Someone should do this Volotea machine ex Nantes soon

Do you want to follow in Captainred’s footsteps. Volotea was having a sale some days ago with
€ 9 tickets for every destination. I hope you noticed

Bonjour Markus,

good to see you on another nice domestic French trip. Nice report with also great pictures. Somehow some things are looking quite familiar to me, really don't know why

AF and Brit Air look quite good, and it seems you were quite lucky with the crews.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
That might be a good idea to park the car Friday morning at BSL, doing some flights and heading back to the airport Saturday late afternoon, ready ontime for the pick up.

Bonjour Markus,

Another nice report as usual   really enjoyed it.
Looks like you had another couple of nice flights inside France. Orly sure looks interesting with all those different airlines and destinations, must visit there soon!
Interesting to see AF fly A320s on some short domestic routes. But with both the A320s almost all the way full its completely understandable, they seem to be doing good business there
