PH-JCT had the honour and shuttled me this morning.
A new entry to the log and leg no. 10 on type for me.
In the air since 31.05.1995 with Fokker, Mountain West Airlines, Austrian Airlines and finally KLC.
There are an impressive 26 planes on type in the fleet.
Strange to follow PH-JCT on a return to AMS with technical problems very close to it´s destination:

Service KL 1127 operated by KLM
Scheduled: 09.35 // 10.55

No need for extra security and well timed to go for the KL crown lounge
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202018.jpg
Not that much customers around
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202019.jpg
Also the seaters are blue here
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202020.jpg
C12 now bound for Copenhagen. The fare is again 50.00 Euro´s
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202021.jpg
The 737 is on schedule. That might be a -900 series, if I´am lucky today
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202022.jpg
But that looks much more like a series -800 plane
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202023.jpg
PH-BXF now for me.
"Swallow" is leg no. 63 on type and another new entry to the log.
On KLM colours since delivery, 15.06.2000, 21 -800´s are in the fleet actually.
Strange to follow that incident with a KL 733 taking off from a AMS taxiway and also PH-BXF is involved:
http://avherald.com/h?article=4272f72c
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202024.jpg
Cockpit crew is from the Netherlands.
The captain with a very nice welcome during boarding.
One pax is missing and therefore baggage offloading takes place. He´s once more to hear inflight later on with informations in a relaxed style.
No route or flightlevel details.
09.45 am, ten minutes past schedule and "KLM" is just departed from the 3500 meters runway "Two-Four".
16 partly cloudy degrees here
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202025.jpg
Imagine you take a deep sleep in the plane, dreaming about some alien monsters from somewhere down in the baggage compartment crawling up you´re seat. You wake up and it feels like screaming the whole plane together while you see something like this very close to you´re eyes.
I absolutely dislike these behaviour
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202026.jpg
Cabin crew is one young and ok male, four female FA´s.
Two elder and ok, one young and nice and also one young woman with a very nice welcome to me, cute, short black hair, superb. Always smiling all along the way.
On the other hand side, legroom is not that really great here.
55 minutes only for CPH
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202027.jpg
Much better with the delicious treats together with free drinks
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202028.jpg
Safety on board, sure again
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202031.jpg
The super well loaded cabin with the dark, clean so far, blue fabric seats.
The load is very close to 100% and upgrades are offered to every pax for 90.00 Euro´s. The last row doesn´t help today, all three seats are taken with me in 30F
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202030.jpg
Coming in for the 3300 meters "Two-Two-Left", 11.00 am, some minutes behind schedule only and 16 cloudy degrees here.
Bye now to PH-BXF at CPH
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202032.jpg
Some more lounging now?.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202033.jpg

Cabin crew is one middle aged nice male FA and three females, all elder, typical SK style and nice.
Interesting to notice that KL operates with one more FA on the same plane type.
11.55 am, perfectly ontime, "Scandinavian" is just departed from the 3600 meters "Two-Two-Right". 16 degrees and rain now
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202039.jpg
Cockpit crew is from Scandinavia.
The captain with a short welcome during boarding and once again later on during descent.
No route or flightlevel information.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202040.jpg
Another well loaded cabin, very close to 100% for the 1.00 hour stretch further up the north.
32F, the last row window again and all three seats are taken
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202041.jpg
Service is free water, coffee, tea.
Safety on board SK style
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202043.jpg
Legroom is better here than on KL with the dark blue fabric seats and the cabin is clean so far
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202045.jpg
1.00 pm, short ahead to schedule, just arrived now at ARN´s 3301 meters runway "Zero-One-Left", where the weather conditions are not that really to my amusement.
13 degrees only and rain
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202046.jpg
Well, what about a lounge here?.

Hey, this is much to far up the north for palmtrees!
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/S1202/S1202104.jpg
Well, nightlife is limited here, to say the least, Sunday evening. Time to catch some sleep now.

More Saab flying anyone?.
Sure, but this time the smaller brother, please!.
And I´am sure Blue 1, which is responsible for leg 3 and 4 to come, is never ever delayed. Absolutely no way to miss a connection by this company, isn´t it?.

Conclusions please:

KL STR-AMS: Comfy and calm as it should be.
KL AMS-CPH: Nice staff and ok so far with the fully load.
SK CPH-ARN: Another full flight, but anyway ok.
SK ARN-KLR: Comfy and nice staff on a rare plane type.

Tack och vi ses snart,
FLIEGER67 or, nothings changed till now, "Markus Klaus Felger" by Facebook!.

Hi Markus,

really interesting report, nice routing. Good to see a Saab 2000 here, just made my first two flights on that nice bird. I found it a bit loud, though. Too bad you got an albino plane. I thought those are exclusively reserved for the FlyingFinn...

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Legroom is perfectly good. Ok, it´s the exit row,
11A and two for me

Did you spill some coffee cream in the lounge?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
But that looks much more like a series -800 plane

Too bad. Do you still need the -900 non-ER?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
I absolutely dislike these behaviour

I can only agree.

Hello Markus,

Nice report and routing and a nice catch with this albino Saab. Well, a Golden Air plane shouldn't be white but gold, don't you think?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Oldfashioned, clean, dark blue fabric seats here
Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Legroom is perfectly good.

These KLM Fokker's are still very nice inside and well maintained. I hope they will keep on flying for many years to come.

Me too!

really interesting report, nice routing. Good to see a Saab 2000 here, just made my first two flights on that nice bird. I found it a bit loud, though. Too bad you got an albino plane. I thought those are exclusively reserved for the FlyingFinn...

Thank you and looking forward to you´re impressions, you know.

Quoting PlaneHunter (Reply 2):

Did you spill some coffee cream in the lounge?

Looks like strange, but not at all.

Quoting PlaneHunter (Reply 2):

Too bad. Do you still need the -900 non-ER?

Sure I need it.

I can only agree.

Nice report and routing and a nice catch with this albino Saab. Well, a Golden Air plane shouldn't be white but gold, don't you think?

Thank you and exactly my opinion.

Quoting sultanils (Reply 3):

These KLM Fokker's are still very nice inside and well maintained. I hope they will keep on flying for many years to come.

Count me in this way, one more to go in a couple of weeks.

Hi there Markus,

Good to see Sweden featured, planning to go there next year for a quick visit.

Nice to see the Saab, too bad it was an albino... And too bad that no 739 was waiting for you that day in AMS. Hard to schedule a 739 with KLM... It can change at anytime.

Looking forward to part II.

It's Öresundståg, they go over the Öresund Bridge and connect a number of destinations in southern Sweden with Denmark.

HI Markus !

Very nice report and especially the pictures from Kalmar!

The legroom on the F70 looks very bad and glad you only flew to AMS with that and not any further.

I think TP (and other airlines) post an earlier departure time so that people will show up a little bit earlier so that the flights doesn't leave late....in other words, if post a departure at 1500, some people may show up at 1455 which will delay the flight so if you post a departure at 1445, you will be able to go on time even if some people show up at 1450.

Nice to see that your Swedish is improving! At this rate we'll speak Swedish when we eventually meet.....

I've been through Kalmar but never stopped to explore the city or the castle. Kalmar has a very important place in Swedish history as it was a place where a union was formed with Denmark and Norway in the 1200s and it's usually referred to as the Kalmar Union. Sweden eventually rebelled and threw the Danes out of Stockholm in shortly after 1521 and Sweden regained independence. That's what I was taught in school in Sweden....

I believe you when you say that there's not much going on in Kalmar on a Sunday night....

Too bad that you didn't fly the Golden Air Saab 2000 in full colors parked next your plane at ARN....

Very much looking forward to your next report!

Hi Markus,

Another nice one from your posting spree. Good for spending the time here at Gatwick's North Terminal Aspire Lounge (a very nice place BTW, you should schedule a trip to LGW soon to check it out) while waiting for my delayed BA flight.

A good idea to go to Kalmar, a hidden gem among Sweden's more prolific tourist destinations. I did something similar two years ago, I just had to go and find out what that Blue1 operated ARN-KLR flight was all about. This one was of course by Golden Air as well, but on an ATR-72 instead. Didn't have much time in Kalmar though as I took the bus up to Oskarshamn and then flew out of there with a DirektFlyg Jetstream, very nice!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
and now it´s time to go again.
The mission is to fly the longish Saab exactly, at least countrywise, where they come from!.

No one to pick up from an airport along the way to use as an excuse this time?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
OLCI works ok here, no printout as usual for me.
Collected from the self service kiosk.

Good luck trying that with the "stick up yer arse" LH check in kiosks. No chance to print a boarding pass from the machine if you do OLCI - come on, that is strictly against the regulations!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
There are an impressive 26 planes on type in the fleet.

Well Dutch planes for a Dutch airline!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
No need for extra security and well timed to go for the KL crown lounge
Not that much customers around

That is good. The Crown Lounge is a nice lounge as such, but it's been more or less packed pretty much every time I've been there, up to the point that it is really hard to find even a seat! They should introduce another one to relieve the crowds...

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
But that looks much more like a series -800 plane

Yes it does.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
PH-BXF now for me.
"Swallow" is leg no. 63 on type and another new entry to the log.

ARGH! This is the plane that keeps haunting me! I ended up flying her three times (out of 4) on my flights between HEL and AMS this spring/summer. That is too much!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
I absolutely dislike these behaviour

Horrible! How about biting him?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Much better with the delicious treats together with free drinks

That müslibar looks like the stuff you can buy from Lidl.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
No Wifi bulb, no winglets here

Ahh, SAS must be the biggest operator of non-wingletted 738s around. I guess they don't mind fuel efficiency that much - after all they still have the Mad Dogs around...

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
I don´t mind to fly these classic instead

Flying one in two days!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Yes, the Scandinavian lounge is ready for me

They let you in with a boarding pass for a domestic flight departing ex-T4?! I thought it was strictly international flights only.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Service SAS Scandinavian Airlines SK 6628 operated by Golden Air

Are you sure? Most of the ARN-KLR flights with the Saab are actually marked as "Operated by Blue1" by SAS (and in turn Golden Air operates them for Blue1). This is the way my ATR-72 flight was a few years ago and this is the way it shows up on the schedules. Plus that SAS flight number range is usually used for the KF codeshare flights.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
On the way since 31.01.1997 with SK, Air Botnia, Blue 1, Skyways Airlines, Air Express Sweden, Blue 1 again and now with Golden Air.

Quite surprisingly, considering these carriers, I haven't logged this one (yet).

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):

Yes, quite horrible.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):

And probably only payable with a credit card? Good for you, I was supposed to take the bus but it never showed up and had to take a taxi since my bus to Oskarshamn was leaving shortly. Well the driver was a really funny guy with very interesting political opinions.

Hi Markus,

Good to read about your trip to Sweden. At least you did eventually find the nice midsummer weather, it looks very pretty up there! And great to catch Golden Air & the Saab2000. Only logged that type once, but I have nice memories of it.

You have to love those FIDS screens at AMS, what an array of destinations. Great that you got the F70, enjoy then whilst you can.

Budget? Well ok, it's Sweden. Cute room, looks like you're in someone's home.

Happy flying
