and should go back for the homebase today.
Should I really?.
I should, at least according to my personal timetable.
But someone is not really sure about it!.
A well nights sleep and ready for new adventures. Not that I´ve even talked about something like this before!.
First station breakfast
Well presented offers
And no one else around like me
Kalmar Länstrafik shuttled me ontime by bus for the airport. The fare again 2.00 Euro´s.

Service Malmoe Aviation TF 3482 operated by NextJet
Scheduled: 09.15 // 10.10
Hey, my inbound flight is one minute delayed. Should I really accept this?
Kalmarflyg to check-in here
There is a website with flights to book offered by Kalmarflyg, but several times checked, no success.
There is also a swedish travel agency who want to have a horrible service fee to book the flight. No way!.
Thanx to Flightstats, I´ve noticed that Malmoe Aviation has a codeshare number on the service and it works with the Malmoe website quick and easy. As far as you know the way to do it here!.
The fare 60.00 Euro´s.
Malmoe offers also OLCI, but it seems not for the codeshare flights.
Desk check-in it is, sure ok with these good looking young woman, long red hair this time. And yes I´am pretty sure, this is Sweden here, definitely!.
Received another one of these as tiny as possible boarding papers, free seating here, shudder!.
But anyway worth to do it with the Saab 340 on schedule.
But at first a view around the airport.
There is space enough for me upfront!
Well, I recommend these parking spot during the upcoming winter time!
The living room it is here
Ah interesting, one day to late
Less frequented, at least right now
Need a Kalmarflyg ticket?
Airside for gate 1 after not a second to wait at security.
No lounge here
Yes, that´s what I am looking for
Heading for the small apron
Show me your registration, please
This is SE-LJS
Stop now and no more running engines
Nice weather here by the way
Now that´s what I call Sweden. A Saab plane handled by a Volvo ramper car
Boarding started only some minutes thereafter and when you spot the number of people around, this might be a much bigger plane outdoor.
Engine closeup
Seats looking good this way, well used to say the least,
with me in 7A, one for me!. How I like these Saab´s
Bye now to Kalmar, 09.15 am, as ontime as it could be!. "Golden" is heading for Bromma, at least that´s what I know actually. All announcements in Swedish only, 50 minutes to go and 21 sunny degrees here
Also military used somedays
Cockpit crew is from Scandinavia, the pilot with a short info only later during descent for BMA. No route or flightlevel info.
Engine on the go
For the runway
Cabin crew is a middle aged nice woman.
And just departed from "Three-four"
Filled up to the limits. A 100% load, lot´s of biz people on the way for the capital
Maintenance swedish style
Legroom is acceptable here
What´s this?. Nextjet?.
The confirmation shows clearly, operated by Golden Air. But the safety card know´s it better!.
Leg no. 7 on type and new to the log.
First in the air with Crossair since 07.12.1990 and further on by Nordic Airlink, Crossair again, Carpatair,
catching a German registration with Dauair and back to Sweden with Avi Trans Nordic and NextJet.
There are 11 planes on type in the fleet
Pausombord, ok
Service is coffee for free.
The Kalmar special edition
Cruising, sunny side up!
Not that far from Stockholm
This tablet looks like well used
Something to eat
Well, the weather turns again close to Stockholm
Touchdown at the 1668 meters runway "Three-Zero". 10.05 am, short ahead to schedule, partly cloudy and 16 degrees.
Lot, this reminds me for somewhat else!
This is Saab definitely paradise
Ok, also some Avro´s here and there
Engine close up Bromma style
Sure, under the wing
Very close by
The nose
Bye now for SE-LJS, sure nice to catch one more of these tiny Saab´s for the log
Service for the next leg
Well, this is Bromma and the next flight departs from Arlanda.
Flygbussarna shuttled me to Cityterminalen for some 8.00 Euro´s.
And Flygbussarna shuttled me also, after some minutes only, for Arlanda, the fare here 11.00 Euro´s.
Everything ok with the next flight?. I´am sure, it is!.
Service AY 634 operated by Finnair
Scheduled: 12.55 // 14.55
Well, there is the usual situation here.
OLCI works, seats secured, but no papers printed.
Good to see that AY has also self service kiosks in Arlanda.
The machine printed it seconds thereafter and further on to security, close to no time to wait.
This is the return leg from HEL-ARN in May, the fare 50.00 Euro´s booked by AY directly.
Well, I´am in a real good mood, the Saab 340 logged again, the transfer airport to airport works perfectly,
checked in for the AY E90, like on schedule, but wait?.
There is no OLCI for leg 3 and 4 later on possible.
I´am in Stockholm-Arlanda.
Why not go for the SK transfer desk to catch the paper?.
No other customer around, an elder woman at work:
"Good day, I should do two more flights later today from Helsinki on Blue 1 and SAS. Is it possible to check- in here?".
"Well, let me see you´re confirmation. I will check it for you".
We know, I´am in Stockholm Arlanda.
The agent takes my confirmation. The nowadays close to standard long, suspicious view to me after some typing, follows.
"You want to fly HEL-CPH-STR later in the afternoon?".
"Yes, that´s what I should do".
"Sorry, that´s not possible. You can only check-in for the flights in Helsinki".
"Ok, so I will try it in Helsinki, thank you".
I´am sure, she follows this on her computer and I´am also sure, she know´s that my connection in Copenhagen for Stuttgart is never ever possible with this information pcitured later on in Helsinki.
Blue 1 is running two hours late by now
You know, I´am in a good mood, a little less than some minutes ago, but anyway I´am in a good mood.
Ready to fly the Finnair Embraer for Helsinki.
Ready to fly a rare, at least for me, B717 down to Copenhagen and also ready to fly a new, I´am sure, CR9 or something even more interesting finally for STR.
No idea here about a possible upcoming delay and a impossible connection.
Ah, what about to fly these one somedays?
With the E90 on schedule this looks like my plane
But wait, there is something else to do now
This one
Something to eat and drink
One or two open seaters
With a view for the apron
Let´s go for gate F31 now
To fly exactly this one
Boarding for OH-LKM now.
A new entry for the log and leg no. 13 on type.
In the air with Finnair since 27.03.2008.
One of 12 examples in the fleet
Cockpit crew is from Finland. The captain with a nice welcome after boarding is completed. We see a slot delay due to rush hour in Helsinki.
No route or flightlevel information.
12.55 am, nevertheless ontime, "Finnair" and me on the 40 minutes hop, heading for HEL.
18 degrees and partly cloudy here.
Above the clouds after departure from the 3301 meters "One-Nine-Right"
Is this blue or green?. Oldfashio..., no, top modern fabric seats!. Anyway, the cabin is clean so far
A view inside
And also some legroom is available here. The load is 100% again, no open seat to spot and me, with also the aisle taken, in 24F, the second to last row.
It feels like the Scandinavians are well on travel these days
Bluewings
For you´re safety
Cabin crew is two senior FA´s, both nice.
Service is free juice or coffee.
Fazer chocolates anyone?
The thousand islands approach
The 2901 meters runway "One-Five" welcomed me, 2.40 pm, that´s 1.40 pm in Germany and 15 minutes ahead to schedule.
Lovely weather here, 19 degrees and high clouds only.
Ok, this is HEL
Where I should catch a hopefully new 717 for the log, or not?.
In the terminal, where someone usually staffing the Blue 1 transfer desk is in need for a break. I decide to leave the gate area some minutes later, no one shows up.
Ok, down for the groundfloor to the self service kiosks.
Where the machine told me, check-in is not possible
and I should go for the desks.
Where the woman on duty told me that the flight is running late and I should go for the ticket desk.
Where there are also some more pax waiting with obviously the same problem.
Where there are two agents working, right hand side an older male, dealing with a group of some definitely less amused very, very important business men.
Where there is left hand side a woman working with an very angry looking elder woman and you don´t know if shes collapse soon or just in a couple of minutes.
Well, my turn after some time.
"Hello, there is an impossible connection for STR with the late CPH flight".
"Let me see you´re confirmation details".
Fixed by the way by Lastminute.de as a one way HEL-CPH-STR, with the fare per leg, 45.00 Euro´s.
"Ok, there is LX via ZRH". Some typing. "No seats". "There is LH via MUC". More typing. "No seats".
"What about for example KL via AMS?".
"Not possible, Blue 1 pays only for Star Alliance rebookings".
"Ah, there is one seat left for LH via FRA?".
Well, with this wide choice of options a tough decision!.
"Ok, let´s do it this way".
To sum it up, the agent forgot to update my Status and therefore I´ve not accepted for the extra security line.
No, I´am not in the mood to go back again, so I´ve waited some ten minutes till I was through.
The routing for today looks finally like this in the end:
Monday, 18.06.2012
.
.
.
.
Service LH 851 operated by Lufthansa
Scheduled: 18.10 // 19.45
Some lounging is well needed now
Typical Scandi style offers
And not that much customers around
Frankfurt on the go from gate 15
Sadly missed this one
Finncom, sorry, FlybeNordic also not today
Blue 1 delayed or not
This is for FRA.
Leg no. 19 on type. A strange feeling shows me, that this is nothing new for the log. D-AISH "Wetzlar" was my ride, what looks like a long time ago on ATH-FRA
Turning for the gate
In service since 11.10.2007.
61 planes on type are in the fleet
Ready for ground handling
Looks like large this way
Norwegian also on the go
A thousand of people around the gate.
It seems like a full flight with all these rebookings.
I´am the last pax to board and don´t want to believe my eyes. Is this really true?.
A view around, all other pax behind me seated.
11A, the exit row window is not taken, well, till now!.
6.15 pm, short after schedule, 2 hours, 25 minutes made by "Lufthansa" for Germany.
Nice 21 degrees with a few clouds only here in HEL.
Cabin crew is one middle aged and ok male FA together with one elder female, no smile, no interaction, one more elder, this time nice woman and one young, good looking, powerfull but somewhat cold woman.
Just departed from the 3440 meters "Two-Two-Left"
Strange seat layout here with me in, yes, 11A, all three seats are taken
Legroom for some more pax here with the bright grey, clean so far, leather seats
Cabin view, the load is 100%
Cockpit crew is from Germany, the pilot with nice and relaxed infos inflight.
Routing is GDN-SZN-BER-HAJ at a maximum of 36000 feet.
And here is the safety card
Estonia down there
Some clouds in the distance
Ferry traffic. Two or three pax and two- or three-thousand booz bottles on the way from Estonia towards Finland
Pizza anyone?. Together with free drinks
Well, you know, at least when you followed some of my earlier stories, it´s time to take the travelbook now and short prior to one page later, I´am deep in dreamland, till very short prior to arrivals for FRA´s 4000 meters runway "Two-Five-Left". 7.40 pm, short ahead to schedule, 27 degrees and sunny here. Now that´s what I call a warm welcome!.
Yes, this is FRA
With two or three more LH tails around
Service LH 136 operated by Lufthansa
Scheduled: 22.00 // 22.40
One more flight to go, but time enough in between for the SEN lounge, where there are one or two, or let me say, much to much other pax around.
Anyway, it´s the Euro football championship time and there is a separate area for the football freaks with, don´t get me wrong, much fewer guests than in the other part.
So, football and Beef Pueblo with Basmati rice for me?
Or better a cheese sandwich like this
Not that this is my part of the business and it seems I´am not alone here with close to no one takes attention for the TV screen showing football stuff
Do not miss these screenshot.
D-ABEI some minutes late inbound from LGW
And outbound ontime for STR
Heading for the gate A04 now, close to the exit for baggage reclaim and as far as often I was here before, it seems it´s a long way to go with boarding on the screen.
You know, I´am late, but again not to late, also when it looks like they are close for calling me!.
How I like these long days in June
D-ABEI "Bamberg" is a 737-300, leg no. 49 on type and done once before on a DUS-AGP leg.
In the air with LH only since 07.11.1991.
One of the 23 still in the fleet
Cockpit crew is from Germany, the captain with a nice short welcome during boarding.
No route or flightlevel info.
10.00 pm, ontime, no flight duration info and "Lufthansa" on departure from the 4000 meters runway "One-Eight".
Legroom is good here with the clean NEK seats
Cabin crew is one middle aged and ok male, together with two elder and also ok women.
No service on this short flight.
For your safety
Cabin view from 5A. Three seats for me here, the load is 60%
Switch on the aircraft sleep mode again, immediatelly after departure till close to finals.
Nightly approach for STR´s 25
Very short to touchdown
10.45 pm, close to ontime, 23 degrees, clear sky, that´s how I like it weather wise.
The car is where it should be and some minutes later I´am back at the homebase.
Conclusions, sure!:
Kalmarflyg KLR-BMA: Another rare plane type logged ontime.
Finnair ARN-HEL: Nice views from a fully loaded plane.
Lufthansa HEL-FRA: Comfy and calm, the perfect place to rest.
Lufthansa FRA-STR: It feels like just a minute from TO to TD.
And now?.
Turning the calendar for the second half of the year. Some four no flying weeks due to various reasons and further heading into southeastern direction for Tivat, by Montenegro Airlines, of course!.
Well, tack och vi ses snart,

Thank you and sure the case with the 717 here.

The Nextjet service to BMA looks good as well, however the interior is a bit worn!
Definitely.

Strange, also my opinion.

Hello Markus,
That was a quite interesting story! It's apparently not the 1st time that Blue1 messes up, quite some of our Nordic residents here have had a minor/major schedule mockup with this carrier. Well, at least you were given a decent solution to the problemn but it didn't get you on the B717 sadly enough. But hey, you managed a ride on the Saab, which is quite cool as well.
It really looks like it's bound to fall off any minute now.

But at least nice that they rebooked you to an adequate other flight via FRA, so you didn't get stranded in CPH or somewhere else.

Hiya Markus,
The last part of the Swedish trip. Good to read again something about my home airport, although this time things weren't very smooth. But that's Late1 for you - you never know what you get. They used to be quite okay on these SAS hub feeder services, but I guess with the recent shift of focus that's almost everything there's left so these days even these flights can be late... In the end it was sorted out fine though.
Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter): What´s this?. Nextjet?.
The confirmation shows clearly, operated by Golden Air. But the safety card know´s it better!.
Yes, these kind of things are very common in Sweden. I once flew a FlySmåland plane with had a similar arrangement, operated by Golden Air but with NextJet everywhere...
Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter): Flygbussarna shuttled me to Cityterminalen for some 8.00 Euro´s.
And Flygbussarna shuttled me also, after some minutes only, for Arlanda, the fare here 11.00 Euro´s.
They used to have a direct Bromma - Arlanda bus on Flygbussarna as well. Shame that one didn't last too long, not popular enough I guess.
Of course! The militant Finnair unions would not have it any other way, they'll rather ruin the airline than stand back.
Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter): In the terminal, where someone usually staffing the Blue 1 transfer desk is in need for a break. I decide to leave the gate area some minutes later, no one shows up.
There are two different transfer desks at T1 actually. Or any gate agent could've helped you too.
Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter): Well, with this wide choice of options a tough decision!.
"Ok, let´s do it this way".
So it didn't even occur to you to spend an extra night at CPH (or even HEL) at KF's expense?
What was the cause of the delay anyway?
If you are flying in business class then they will rebook you across alliances, economy is just within *A. Well unless there's no other choice like on a domestic Finnish route, then AY/BE will get the business if appropriate.
Oh yes, this happened when the other 22/04 runway was still closed for resurfacing. Lucky you, no lengthy taxi there, taking off from this one on a jet is rare these days.
Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter): Legroom for some more pax here with the bright grey, clean so far, leather seats
Pizza? Really? Well LH never fails to surprise! But where's the picture?
They served something really weird on my HEL-FRA flight two and half weeks ago...
Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter): One more flight to go, but time enough in between for the SEN lounge, where there are one or two, or let me say, much to much other pax around.
My pet peeve about this lounge. It is always so packed. Also the FTL side so no good going there instead.
I hope the A+ pier will have some Schengen lounges as well to ease the situation (not to mention to offer some nice champers which are included in the staffed bars of the new lounges).

If you are flying in business class then they will rebook you across alliances, economy is just within *A. Well unless there's no other choice like on a domestic Finnish route, then AY/BE will get the business if appropriate.
Some duties the next day and no info about the delay in the end.

Oh yes, this happened when the other 22/04 runway was still closed for resurfacing. Lucky you, no lengthy taxi there, taking off from this one on a jet is rare these days.
Pizza? Really? Well LH never fails to surprise! But where's the picture?
They served something really weird on my HEL-FRA flight two and half weeks ago...
You never know by LH these days.

My pet peeve about this lounge. It is always so packed. Also the FTL side so no good going there instead.
I hope the A+ pier will have some Schengen lounges as well to ease the situation (not to mention to offer some nice champers which are included in the staffed bars of the new lounges).
Good point with the new A+, something to check soon.

Hi Markus!
Nice report and glad to see you again flew a Swedish plane in Sweden!
Good to hear your BMA-ARN connection went well but too bad about the KF troubles, at least it seems they rebooked you without any major issues.
