Thanx to:

No question, there is a new departure airport to pin on the map with no. 222 and TIV:

Service 4U 2942 operated by Germanwings
Scheduled: 11.20 // 12.55

Now that´s what I call a lazy late morning departure.
Up at 07.30 am, no need for the cell phone alarm today.
Empty roads, the Saturday night club shift is at home now and it´s way to early for the retiree´s important coffee meetings!.
That looks like ok for BEG from gate 124
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201001.jpg
No time to wait at security.
P0 it is again for the car and no need to catch any paper today. OLCI works perfectly as soon as it was open, 72 hours prior to departure and my printer does the homework this time.
The flight is fixed by Germanwings directly, a somewhat steep fare with 85.00 Euro´s, but it´s close to summer vacation time and that means lot´s of VFR traffic bound for the southeast.
LH accepts nowadays also SEN card holders on Germanwings flights in the lounge, the place to go now.
Well presented
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201002.jpg
Down for the gate close to boarding time.
But wait, there is also border control.
Lot´s of people around and two desks staffed.
Right hand side a family with a thousand of kids of all ages.
Left hand side a cute and really good looking middle aged woman.
Well, I´am not sure if the officer simply want to talk to her, but it doesn´t feel this way.
Discussion and more discussion, passport checked and some phone calls, till the officer leaves his desk and walked away with the woman´s passport.
Don´t ask me how it feels, when boarding is close to fixed and you are still waiting for the check.
She´s finally accepted after some more arguments and some seconds only for me in the end.
Hey, with lot´s of young and good looking, ahem, people here around, I will generously accept a seatmate today!.
Well, the A319 is on schedule here
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201003.jpg
And D-AKNM is definitely nothing new to me.
Done on SXF-STR and also STR-SXF, STR-VIE and STN-STR, leg no. 83 on type.
In the air with US Airways and Germanwings since 28.09.1999. One of the 32 active planes.
Here is a story with D-AKNM:

http://avherald.com/h?article=42dcd8cb&opt=1

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201004.jpg
Under the wing, if ever possible
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201005.jpg
11.35 am, 15 minutes late, "Germanwings" is now finally ready to go for the 1 hour, 20 minutes down to Serbia.
Departure from "Two-Five" with 18 degrees, rough wind and partly cloudy sky.
Cockpit crew is from Germany, the pilot with a detailed welcome afer boarding is completed.
He´s once again on the mike inflight.
Routing is MUC-GRZ-BUD, no flightlevel info.
For your safety, sure
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201006.jpg
Cabin crew shows me not the best first impression,
one young female FA, no smile at all,
one middle aged male, well, ok to say it in a positive way and also one young and nicer male FA.
Service is buy on board. Happy picnic, online only
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201007.jpg
Hey, the military guys are also on travel today.
By the way, there is no open seat to spot, a 100% load of VFR travellers
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201008.jpg
Me in 25F, the last row window, also here all three seats are taken.
Well, not my day with the seatmates.
A retired couple here, with the senior from the somewhat smelly party in the middle seat!.
Legroom is acceptable with the dark grey leather seats. The cabin is clean so far
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201009.jpg
Up for the blue it is

The Danube close to Belgrade
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201011.jpg
Touchdown at the 3400 meters "One-Two", 1.00 pm
short after schedule, partly cloudy and 25 degrees here.
Three points for JAT
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201012.jpg
Yes, this is Belgrade
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201013.jpg
I need this one, oh yes
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201016.jpg
What to do now till the next leg?.
Something like this, maybe:

The Belgrade aviation museum

http://www.aviationmuseum.eu/World/E...e/Muzej_Ratnog_Vazduhoplovstva.htm

is for sure a special place. Been there before, but no matter what, I want to go there again
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201017.jpg
Sure a nice welcome
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201018.jpg
Yes, the Caravelle
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201021.jpg
And some military stuff
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201023.jpg
Under the roof
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201025.jpg
Is there something inside?
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201027.jpg
Sharp!
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201028.jpg
Back to the airport terminal now.
Everything ok with the next flight?.

Service YM 205 operated by Montenegro Airlines
Scheduled: 18.40 // 19.20

Well, not that really, the arrival from Tivat scheduled at 6.00 pm shows "New Info". That sounds not that really good to me
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201029.jpg
This ticket is secured by Flugladen.de,
together with the outbound leg tomorrow. The fare per leg 80.00 Euro´s this way.
No OLCI by Montenegro Airlines ex BEG.
So desk check-in it is.
A young male at work, really nice, he also checked me in for tomorrows flight ex TIV, well done here.
Up the stairs for security and no, I´am not amused. A thousand of people around and a rather long queue.
No extra entrance here.
Well, make the best of it, isn´t it?.
A young woman from Serbia, as it turns out later, in the queue with me and soon we had a nice chat together. She works for Booking.com and is based in Roma, really interesting.
Some 10 minutes to wait only in the end.
How I like these variety on the apron
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201031.jpg
Well, I´am interested about more "Nova Informacija´s"
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201032.jpg
There is a lounge here, but not available with my ticket and also not by Diners.
45 minutes delay by now
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201034.jpg
Is this really true?.
This plane looks like much to modern for the scheduled Fokker 100, isn´t it?
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201037.jpg
4O-AOC is here
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201038.jpg
This is an Embraer 195, new to the log and leg. no 4 on type only till now
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201039.jpg
Delivered new to Montenegro Airlines at 17.07.2010.
The newest of 3 examples
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201040.jpg
View from the gate C5. Nice talking here with a young woman from the States on the way from PHX via FRA and BEG to visit her relatives in Montenegro. VFR like earlier stated
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201041.jpg
Cockpit crew is from Montenegro.
The captain with a somewhat stressed welcome after boarding is completed.
And once again much more relaxed and detailed inflight.
No route info, cruise level is 27000 feet.
Boarding at 7.25 pm, ontime, at least due to the latest information. 45 minutes late on the original schedule. 40 minutes only by "Montair" for TIV now from runway "Three-Zero", the other direction like arrivals. Leaving sunny 26 degrees here
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201042.jpg
Cabin crew is a young and also somewhat stressed male, another middle aged and ok male FA and a middle aged, nice woman. Service is free water only.
Legroom is good here with the dark grey leather seats.
The cabin is clean so far
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/MNE1201/MNE1201043.jpg
Full house here again, 100% no open seat to spot.
VFR traffic, no question.
30F for me, the last row window.
A young guy in the aisle seat.
It seems, he´s better heading for Ibiza, at least according to his clothes

A thousand of people in town, bars, clubs, coffeeshops, superb.
That´s the way to spend some time in Montenegro, definitely.
And as usual, the way back to walk needs much more time than the way in, but night´s are anyway short here, isn´t it?.

Some more flights, maybe really by one of these scheduled F100´s and also a couple of pictures to come soon, I promise!.

But wait, don´t miss the conclusions:

Germanwings STR-BEG: Acceptable, but nothing special.
Montenegro Airlines: What a stunning approach, fantastic.

Do videnja, hopefully with the next story, FLIEGER67,
or "Markus Klaus Felger" by Facebook!.

Hey Markus,

Interesting report about a very intriguing airline (and country!). I love their simple yet stylish livery. The approach to Tivat is indeed spectacular. Too bad that the photos of the mountains and the steep slopes were a bit dark. But I guess that's why they call it Montenegro...

Looking forward to the rest that is to come.

Thanks for sharing,

Hi Markus,

interesting report, good to see Montenegro Airlines showing up - but its product seems to be rather average. The approach is certainly nice.

Hi Markus !

Very nice report again with nice pictures !

Nice that you got to add a new country to your list!

Approach seems very scenic as does Tivat.

Flights seem okay but good to log another airline.

Looking forward to your next report!

Hello Markus,

Your report title makes the expectations really true: a grand approach and so low over the mountains, it makes it feel a bit like INN’s approach, but without the snow then. Also a nice addition to the log with this fairly new and exotic Montenegro Airlines Jungle Jet.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Hey, with lot´s of young and good looking, ahem, people here around, I will generously accept a seatmate today!

The amount of young people might not be so surprising as Belgrade is one of the bigger partying cities in Europe.

one middle aged male, well, ok to say it in a positive way and also one young and nicer male FA.

Hmm, it sounds like you had the same kind of crew that I had on my 4U flight in Aug.

What airline is that? I can’t quite see it on the photo.

She works for Booking.com and is based in Roma, really interesting.

Did you ask her for a permanent reduction code for hotel bookings

Hi Markus,

Another interesting trip report on a relatively unknown airline. No, not Germanwings but Montenegro.

Am I imagining it or do you select your flights to ensure that you get to board at a remote stand for your trademark "under the wing" photos?

Was it the delayed departure that was causing them stress?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Bye now for the Embraer, hope to see the F100 soon

So were you really disappointed that it wasn't the F100?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
And you are sure that there is an airport here?

Definitely. I saw it as I drove along that tortuous road from Kotor to Cetinje in 2009. The scenery is truly spectacular.

Thanks for sharing.

Hello Markus,

Another great report with some very nice pictures! That approach into TIV is absolutely stunning! well done.
Looks like you had 2 ok flights, nothing special really. Not that impressed by Montenegro Airlines starting with the delay, hopefully your return flight was better
Great pictures of Tivat too, those boats look nice and the view from your hotel looks good!

This plane looks like much to modern for the scheduled Fokker 100, isn´t it?

Thats too bad, I would take the fokker over an EMB any day. Those EMB will be around for a while

Nice talking here with a young woman from the States on the way from PHX via FRA and BEG to visit her relatives in Montenegro

Hey Markus

Lovely report . Nice you got to visit the museum at BEG . I love that place. Also nice to the Caravelle. Good old days indeed !

Never seen a EJet report from that carrier and nice to see what they are like. JAT used to run DC10s down to TIV in the old days in Summer time.

Looking forward to the next part.

Hi Markus,

I really think I have to go to Tivat after seeing this report. What an absolutely breathtaking approach, I love it! You seem so close to the mountains that you could almost touch them. Nice shot you got of the Danube too.

The promenade at Tivat looks as good as any one round the Med, now I know why Montenegro is classed as being such a scenic country.

I don't know what it is about those Embraers, but they look so damn good in pretty much any livery. TG is no exception.

The well used, to say the least, safety card

Looks like someone was playing paper planes with it on a previous flight.

Once again you seem to have chosen a nice hotel. But the view from the balcony is the best bit for sure!

Happy flying
