Thanks so much for sharing tallguy14 -- I appreciate you getting the photos uploaded so quickly! I hope you had a fantastic inaugural. How was the celebration at IAH? I see Smisek gave a speech, but were there any other festivities?

Hi !
Nice to see there were celebrations in IAH; nothing at all yesterday at LAX, not even an announcement to identify the event.

I'm very much looking forward to flying the 787 with UA; however agree with:
Quoting ROGERBCN (Reply 2): The interior looks nice and very modern, a real pity they kept the old pattern on seats, couldn't they think of anything else?
This looks exactly like the old Continental seats; which don't look all that great. Moreover, I really think United needs to come out with the new uniforms to replace the old Continental and UA ones (The Champagne Toast photo). I've heard that the UA pilots are a little peeved that the 787 will be flown exclusively by CO pilots. I think the new uniforms might help with eliminating that visual difference and perhaps the cultural one.

Why would there be anything at LAX ? It had already said the inaugural is IAH-ORD, not IAH-LAX.

Good to see some (clear) pics, but... this is a tripREPORT forum. Where is your report? You have not taken the time to write a single word about your trip to take the 787. Bad effort imho, and I hope to see somebody else will post a more detailed report on the new UA 787 on here soon to give a better insight.

It was the inaugural 787 flight from LAX of ANY airline. Surely some banners, a cake or at the very least an announcement could have taken place. At least an announcement was made on day 2 that this was a special new aircraft : )

Then that is LAX's problem, not UA, the only thing matter to UA is the inaugural, first revenue flight of the plane, not the 2nd or the 3rd.

It's a UA station; the local UA station can still celebrate the flight but I guess it's useless to argue the point with you. Lots of airlines have celebrations when they start a new route, add a new aircraft etc.

My apologies for not including a narrative with my photos. But some of y'all need to relax! There are plenty of reports online and I've included several links below. I wanted to share the photos with you guys the same day, and hadn't time to write a report. I hate to sound snarky, but this is precisely the reason I don't post here more often. Since this is a public forum, anybody can say as much (or as little) as they like. Peace.

Hate to break it to you, but all new delivered aircraft including sCO aircraft, and sUA aircraft, will come with the sCO style interior. Also there really isn't any point in the sUA pilots being upset about only sCO pilots exclusively flying the 787 since this is an sCO 787 and the sUA side don't even get their 787s until 2016.

The pictures were nice, and despite the rather unwordy report, its better than nothing! Thank you so much for the pictures and glad you enjoyed your trip.
