Overall the short flight to EZE was quite enjoyable and exciting. The cabin crew were very cheerful and excited as well. I guess that's because their among the first trained LAN cabin crews certified to work on the 787s! Currently, LAN's B-787s are deployed on the SCL-EZE and SCL-LIM routes. LAN will soon deploy the 787s on the SCL-LIM-LAX, SCL-LAX and SCL-MAD-FRA routes. Looking forward to flying the 787 on long-haul flights very soon!

Great Report SCL767!
Great pics, I really like the shots with the moonlighting and the pics of the Andes . The food looks decent for that short hop, is that blueberry cheesecake I see?
Thanks for sharing your report, looking forward to the next ones

You got some great photos of a very nice looking plane! The C cabin looks great! I'll have to catch a flight with here on the MAD-FRA route when she starts

Great trip report, SCL767!
LAN's new 787 looks fantastic, and your pics of the Andes mountains are great. I'm glad to hear that LAN's cabin crew were friendly, as that seems to typically be the common complaint for LAN.

Hi SCL767,
Thanks for the great report. I'm quite impressed by the product on the LA 787. Very modern with the mood lighting & all. Fantastic photo's of the Andes as well.
Quoting 817Dreamliiner (Reply 1): The food looks decent for that short hop, is that blueberry cheesecake I see?
Yes. On the return flight they also offered regular cheescake or blueberry cheesecake. I will try to do a TR covering the return flight next week.
Quoting airbuseric (Reply 2): Any idea when SCL-MAD-FRA will be changed to the 787? That will be the route I'm going to catch a ride on this one.
Hi Eric. LAN has not loaded the 787 flights on the SCL-MAD-FRA route as yet. However, it looks like LAN will deploy the 787s on the SCL-MAD-FRA route towards the end of Q12013.

The 787 crews were very enthusiastic and excited during all of my 787 flights on LAN. The passengers seemed very excited as well to be flying on the 787 and many passengers were taking photos during the flight. Some cabin crew members even offered to take their pictures during the flight.
Quoting ba319-131 (Reply 8): I like the seat colours, pretty nice, however, the legroom does not look as generous as on the JCL set up on the 767 or is that just an illusion?
It's definitely an illusion since I found the legroom to be more generous than on the B763s. Perhaps the Ottoman has created that illusion.
Quoting aflyingkiwi (Reply 9): Hopefully one day we'll see the LA 787 at AKL!
You will. Eventually the B-787-9s will replace the A343s on the SCL-AKL-SYD route.
Quoting eastafspot (Reply 10): Glad you managed to log the second 787 of LAN. Excellent pictures showing every detail, great videos too.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed them.
Quoting AirAfreak (Reply 11): Thank you for making this one of the best 787 reports!!!!
Thanks for the nice comment. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Quoting MSS658 (Reply 12): Can't wait to try it myself when it comes on the SCL-MAD-FRA route!
Thanks Marc. I think the MAD-FRA-MAD sectors on the 787 will be very popular with A.netters in Europe.

Thank you for sharing your tripreport! I really enjoyed reading it and oh my; the 787 in Lan colors looks stunning. I absolutely love the premium cabin and the entrance; it's spectacular! This is what I expected to see after the first CGI interior videos from Boeing when they introduced the 787. LAN definitely did a great job with their cabin. Too bad the seats aren't really in the same design as their current C-class seats, but this will do just fine.

The seat has about 1 more inch of pitch on the 787, so it is basically the same. The big difference is seat width because Lan has maintainted 2-2-2 seating.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

The new Premium Business Class seat on the 787s has a seat width of 23.0'' as opposed to 20.0" on the B-767-300ERs.

Wow, that was great.
Loved the pics of the mountain ranges, and what great windows.
did the aircraft have that "new car" smell to it?
Nice food for a short flight.
Quoting SCL767 (Reply 13): Some cabin crew members even offered to take their pictures during the flight.
Wish they would all do that.
you don't get a second chance to make a first impression!
I was reading that LAN was going to be receiving the 787 soon in one of my airline magazines. How awesome to read a report about them!
Thanks. LAN will receive its third B-787 at the end of this month. There's also a virtual tour feature of LAN's 787 on LAN's website: Virtual Tour LAN 787
Quoting readytotaxi (Reply 18): did the aircraft have that "new car" smell to it?
Yes! It's always nice to fly on a factory fresh widebody a/c. Especially if it's a 787 Dreamliner.
