Introduction

’Sleeping well, Ariel?’
‘What time is it?’

Twilight

’No, come on! It was still in the late afternoon as we cleared custom at Hong Kong International Airport! What happened to our layover and our visit to Victoria Harbour?’

http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii60/ouweland-akhmad/Hongkong/Australieuml2448_zps7622ee85.jpg

Tsim Sha Tsui viewed from Hong Kong Island

‘Weren’t we supposed to view the eight-tallest office building in the world at 415 meters based on structure height?’

2 International Finance Centre

‘Which is completed in 2003 and quoted as having 88 storeys and 22 high-ceiling trading floors to qualify as being extremely auspicious in Chinese culture? Speaking of auspicious, could this second tallest building in Hong Kong just be that way due to the presence of a retail chain owned and operated by Apple Inc?’

First Apple Store in Hong Kong

Philip (OA260) would love the sight! But please, don’t tell me that we missed out the tallest building in Hong Kong!’

International Commerce Centre

‘The one towering over all at 484 meters and completed in 2010 as a part of the Union Square project on top of Kowloon Station,’
‘You know what? You should stop drinking,’

Carlsberg

‘As you barely recalled anything after having this pale ale lager with alcohol content of only 5 percent abv,’
‘Very funny, Suryo! I was happy already that I made it on board thanks to Customer Service Officer Joanne,’

你好 mates,

Would I have to describe my feeling at that moment, I would turn to my friend Hannah (Infodesk) who has put it aptly.

Quoting infodesk (Reply 33):
Before you know it, all that planning and hard work is over and all that remains are the happy memories.

So please allow me to dedicate this ultimate sequence of happy memories to Hannah and also to Eric (Airbuseric) because of his similar experience with Cathay Pacific: Jumbo Jet’s Galore! CX In Y: AMS-HKG-DPS V.v. (by airbuseric Sep 20 2012 in Trip Reports)

Hong Kong International Airport

’What do you think of the interior of the new Terminal 2, designed by architecture firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill?’

Overview. Note the ceiling

’Look how the undulating shapes on the ceiling see for wave expression. Acting as a unifying device for the elevations, shimmering curves emerge and disappear again,’

View towards exterior glass wall

’While the frit patterns on the edges of the fenestration blur the exterior surfaces as metal seems to blend into glass and back again. All chosen by the design team to accommodate the desire of Airport Authority Hong Kong for a heroic object building,’
‘Is Terminal 1 on its opposite less heroic then?’

http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii60/ouweland-akhmad/Hongkong%20Amsterdam/Australieuml2470_zps22b74461.jpg

Overview from 6/F

’Well, it is just that the designers made a conscious decision not to give Terminal 2 a big gesture roof, as it would be unnecessarily expensive and in conflict with the distinctive roof profile of Terminal 1. Anyway, welcome to CX’s Superhub!’

Overview from 6/F

’Great! Now we are back to square one!’
‘The restricted square one, you mean? We are now on the other side!’
‘Get out! How did you do that, Ariel?’
‘By saying the magic word to Security Screening Officer Mok and Immigration Officer Kwok Hun. Now we have plenty of time before our flight, ’

Level 6 Reception

’The first phase of the renovations at The Wing Level 6 Business Class Lounge was completed in April 2011. Starting from late-2010, there are three renovation phases carried out to ensure that passengers continue to enjoy full utility,’

Supervisor Penny greeted us as we walked to her direction, “Welcome, Sir. My colleague will assist you further,”

“Good evening, Sir,” Smiling Customer Service Officer Katy was immediately on hand, “May I see your invitations, please?”

My lounge invitation

“Can I ask you a question? We would like to visit The Pier as well. Are we allowed re-admittance?”
“Sure. I will just stamp your invitations this time so that you can retain them for your next visit,”
“Thank you,”

’Passenger only for Departure Business Class Lounge according to CX Business Class admittance,’
‘Don’t be silly, Ariel! Come along!’
‘Bonzer! Let’s go to the balcony level!

“Asleep on his cosy retreat. Malaysian Senior Purser Norli and Cantonese Flight Purser Karen must have made him comfortable with welcome drink, hot towel, newspaper and water bottle. Will you feel that way too?“

Smiling Karen immediately presented amenity kit.

“Thank you,”

Norli immediately conducted beverage service.

Conclusion

Insya Allah, sampai jumpa lagi,”

Norli’s farewell replays every time I open the joint gift of hers and Karen’s.

Farewell message

Mates, I was really blessed to meet both of them and their wonderful colleagues. With great pleasure, I recall meetings with Philippine Inflight Service Manager Joy on CX 272, Cantonese Senior Purser Andy and Flight Purser Audrey on CX 713 and Cantonese Senior Purser Ava on CX 136.

Honestly, I have to dig deeper into the memories to recall how unpleasant my encounter was with the red phantom. It did not matter anymore. Not at all!

People, they make an airline and I cannot agree more!

I sincerely hope that my friend Hannah and Eric will accept my dedication of this final story. 多謝, thank you so much for all your supports!

Allow me this opportunity to express my gratitude once again to all of you for your heartwarming replies in my trip report series to The Land Down Under. 多謝!

Hola Suryo!

First of all, thanks for your last kind words, It is always a pleasure to read your reports and look at the gorgeous pictures.

You have a unique style and a personal touch that make your reports really special, this one is no exception. Beautifully illustrated with some very special comments. A tradition you must keep on, they are unique to the site.

What can I say about CX? I have never tried them and your report really presents a great airline with very special touches, the only thing that does not fit, IMO, is the amenity kit, looks too modernly stylished to fit into such an elegant and glamorous cabin.

I am a big fan of your reports, so please keep them coming.

Salut!

Roger

Hi Suryo!

Great trip as usual! Even a 21 year old 747 looked in good condition!
I have always been a great fan of the CX business class. As usual it looks like everything went smooth.
Lovely gift from the crew. Usually the crew can make or break a journey but the CX crew is just a class apart.
Never read a report with a bad experience on CX (service wise).

Thanks for the lovely gesture of mentioning all of us. Appreciate it.

Lovely read. Your reports are well worth the effort you must certainly put in with the additional personal touches.

The drinks on CX look unreal. Definition of differentiation! I laughed aloud when you mentioned Gagnman Style haha.

Please, keep up the good work for our enjoyment. Always a delight.

Great report about CX!
The first lounge you visited looks indeed amazing and the offer seems to be more than enough for a business lounge.
I am also impressed by the variety of cocktails they serve on board.

Thanks a lot for sharing this great report.

The lounges look very nice and good to see Kirin Ichiban in there, one of my favorites! Tsingtao is very good too.

The seat looks a bit narrow but it's probably okay. Very nice that you got seats on the upper deck! That's the best place to be in business class.

Meals look okay but not quite my taste.

I agree with you that the crew is the one that makes the biggest difference if a flight is great or average. You seemed to have some great flight attendants taking care of you on this flight!

Looking forward VERY much to your next report

Cathay Pacific is certainly an amazing airline. In particular, I think it's nice how they show you a tray with all the meal options to choose from. Hello Suryo,

With great pleasure have I savoured this grand finale of another epic series of you. Your excellent onboard experience with CX makes me remember mine in 2007 when this nice airline brought me and my wife to Vietnam for our honeymoon. Back then, the service in the economy class cabin was exemplary, we enjoyed it very much. Also the transit through it's gateway HKG was a flawless affair. Meals look fab as well as the service provided to you and Herman by this lovely set of crew members. Two    definitely!

Sounds interesting!

It has Ginger Ale in it. Perhaps something for you too?

Quoting PlaneHunter (Reply 15):
Great mood lighting, gets you in the perfect mood for the flight!

Quoting PlaneHunter (Reply 15):
That doesn't look overly inspiring IMO.

It was yet healthy though.

Quoting PlaneHunter (Reply 15):
Ah, much better!

Good to know.

Quoting PlaneHunter (Reply 15):
Good choice. How did it taste?

Nicely strong and piping hot.

Quoting PlaneHunter (Reply 15):

Quoting PlaneHunter (Reply 15):
You're welcome!

Lovely pictures of Hong Kong.

Herman gets the credit for the pictures.

I've yet to visit that great city but I hope I get there sooner or later!

I hope so. Herman and I wish to return one day as we only spent several hours in the city.

Hi Roy,

First of all Happy A.net birthday!

Quoting Quokkas (Reply 17):
The wave formations remind me of the clouds before a thunder storm.

Quoting Quokkas (Reply 17):
a blast from the past. It set me off down memory lane.

Believe it or not, ’L’amour est blue has become my childhood memory thanks to my mother.

Quoting Quokkas (Reply 17):
The following year, on a ship from Rotterdam to Fremantle (TS Flavia) an English cover version was played regularly.

Amazing! Could this be the cover?

There is a recent remix version as well. What do you think of it?

Quoting Quokkas (Reply 17):
Ideal for those who wish to send email, etc with a bit of privacy.

All for the needs of single travelers.

Quoting Quokkas (Reply 17):
Its like all the people who come forward when they call those in need of assistance or travelling with small children (who are often in their late teens).

Quoting Quokkas (Reply 17):
No, thank you. Too sweet.

That is fair.

Quoting Quokkas (Reply 17):
That's more like it. Cheers!

Cheers, Roy!

Quoting Quokkas (Reply 17):
"Semoga berjumpa lagi."

What a lovely gesture and a nice thing to say.

Norli’s farewell which I gladly recall!

Quoting Quokkas (Reply 17):
Is CX able to sell seats on the AMS-CDG sector or does the bilateral not permit it? It would be a nice opportunity for someone who wanted to do a trip on the 747 without going long haul, a bit like SQ's MAN-MUC on the 777.

Unfortunately not. Moreover, the AMS-CDG sector has been dropped since Sep 1, 2012.

Quoting Quokkas (Reply 17):
It is I who say "Terima kasih, Suryo."

Sama-sama, Roy.

Hi Lars,

Quoting The777Man (Reply 18):
good to see Kirin Ichiban in there, one of my favorites! Tsingtao is very good too.

In that case, I should have tried Kirin Ichiban as well.

Quoting The777Man (Reply 18):
The seat looks a bit narrow but it's probably okay.

It was comfortable to sleep on.

Quoting The777Man (Reply 18):
Very nice that you got seats on the upper deck! That's the best place to be in business class.

I second that. It feels more private.

Quoting The777Man (Reply 18):
Meals look okay but not quite my taste.

That is fair.

Quoting The777Man (Reply 18):
You seemed to have some great flight attendants taking care of you on this flight!

We were blessed with Norli and Karen.

**********************************************************

Hallo Marc,

Quoting MSS658 (Reply 19):
despite I'm not a fan of herringbone seating

That is fair enough.

Quoting MSS658 (Reply 19):
Quite confusing to see CDG 2 times on the HKG FIDS

Especially CDG bound passengers for not mistaking their flight.

Quoting MSS658 (Reply 19):
Great to know that I'm not the only one who does that

The pleasure is mine too.

**********************************************************

Hey Philip,

Quoting OA260 (Reply 20):
Look forward to more of your reports this year.

I will do my best.

Hello William,

Quoting knightsofmalta (Reply 21):
In particular, I think it's nice how they show you a tray with all the meal options to choose from.

Meals are served on a low trolley that gives you an inviting eye-level choice. To my convenience, Norli slightly tipped the tray over to show what was on offer.

Quoting knightsofmalta (Reply 21):
So what's the next adventure going to be?

Do you mind me keeping it secret for the time being?

Bapak, De heer Kretek,

I am hoping I will be able to try their premium economy all the way to AMS one day
Quoting kretek (Reply 22):
if they offer this product.

Cathay deploys Airbus 340-300 to AMS and Premium Economy Class will be progressively introduced on board of this aircraft type.

Quoting kretek (Reply 22):
( I am not as KAYA RAYA like you)

Well, I have been saving for my trips.

**********************************************************

Hello Nils,

Quoting Sultanils (Reply 23):
Your excellent onboard experience with CX makes me remember mine in 2007 when this nice airline brought me and my wife to Vietnam for our honeymoon. Back then, the service in the economy class cabin was exemplary, we enjoyed it very much.
Quoting Sultanils (Reply 23):
Also the transit through it's gateway HKG was a flawless affair.

So glad to learn that CX has been providing the highest quality service ever since.

Quoting Sultanils (Reply 23):
Indeed, the ceiling is an architectural marvel. It gives the whole building a calm an relaxed look.

Quoting Sultanils (Reply 23):
Yummy! I don't think these little bites will stay there for long so organized

It would not be surprising.

Quoting Sultanils (Reply 23):
Good to see the gate attendants enforcing a proper boarding procedure.

No one could escape Rebecca at that time.

Quoting 9w748capt (Reply 24):
I'm trying them out for the first time in a few weeks (albeit in Y) so I'm excited to see what they're all about.

That’s great! I do hope you’ll like CX!

Quoting 9w748capt (Reply 24):
Maybe I'll do a TR too if I'm feeling up to it!

It’s your prerogative. It would be great to read about your experience though.

Suryo, how good of you to notice and thank you for your replies.

Quoting akhmad (Reply 25):
Amazing! Could this be the cover?

OMG. How silly but that brought a flood of emotion back and, I am not ashamed to say, tears to my eyes. I wonder why it meant so much to your mother? I won't pry. I do hope that she is well and continues to be.

Quoting akhmad (Reply 25):
What do you think of it?

Je ne sais pas quoi dire. I like it and was almost (almost) up and dancing. But, I confess, I prefer the original. Perhaps because it has so many memories.
Quoting akhmad (Reply 25):
Unfortunately not. Moreover, the AMS-CDG sector has been dropped since Sep 1, 2012.

That is a shame. I would have liked to have eventually tried them out on a short haul without the detour to HKG. But if it doesn't pay, it isn't surprising.

I have a nice memory of CX who helped my mother out when her mother was fatally ill in Hamburg. At short notice they were able to take her there via LGW with a connection to HAM. On the return journey, when I took her to the airport, my mother was a bit over weight - that is, her baggage was.

She had been to the Harrod's sale. At Gatwick the check-in agent queried the weight and said, "Madame, you are a little over weight."

"How can I be?" my mother asked, with a smile and confused look. "I have been to Jenny Craig."

"Oh, sorry. Not you Madame, but your suitcase."

"But if I have lost weight and my suitcase is a bit over, does it not cancel each other out?"

" Oh Madame, you are naughty", he said, waving a finger in disapproval. "But I will let it go this time."

With that he affixed a label saying HEAVY to her suitcase and issued her boarding pass.

Quoting akhmad (Reply 25):
Sama-sama, Roy.

Baik la, although that is probably more Singaporean than Indonesian. The feeling is the same.

“May I see your boarding pass, please?” Customer Service Officer Rebecca went through the eligibility of everyone in our queue.

As far as I remember they also ask the passport and check that versus the boarding pass in HKG if you can really travel to AMS/CDG.

Hi Suryo,

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
Would I have to describe my feeling at that moment, I would turn to my friend Hannah (Infodesk) who has put it aptly.
Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
So please allow me to dedicate this ultimate sequence of happy memories to Hannah

Firstly Suryo let me thank you you for your kind dedication. Yes, we both took a big trip last year to the other side of the world and went through the emotional highs of excitement & anticipation as well as the sad moments when it all came to an end.

I’m sad to see this series come to a close, all parts of it were a real pleasure to read. However, you finished in style, what with those lovely photos of the Hong Kong skyline and the beautiful airport and not forgetting the faultless service on CX. The food looks divine!

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
‘Or are you more into Gangnam Style? Op op op oppan Gangnam Style…’
’Have you been drinking, Ariel?’

Haha! Gangnam style in the business lounge…not sure that would go down too well
Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
A concoction of rum, Peach Liqueur, orange, lemon juice, syrup and Blue Curacao,’

Looks delicious

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
At 01.15 local Hong Kong time, after three weeks of memorable holiday, we embarked on our final journey homeward bound

All good things must come to an end.

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
A refreshing combination of vodka, Cointreau and Sprite with a touch of lemon flavor and a minty twist.
“How was the Cloud Nine?”
“What would you say to Norli, Hannah?”

Well, I’d say, bring me another!

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
Something sweet from Hong Kong chocolatier Schoggi Meier?”

Schoggi Meier in Hong Kong? Must be a Swiss connection there, as Schoggi is the term we use in Swiss German.

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
Oriental breeze. Note the floating mini rosebud

Too beautiful to drink.

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
“What about yoghurt?”

Emmi in Asia? Just read an article yesterday saying how well they are doing, it seems the 4 & 5 star hotels can’t get enough of their products.

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
I sincerely hope that my friend Hannah and Eric will accept my dedication of this final story. 多謝, thank you so much for all your supports!

Of course Suryo! Thank you for giving us all such wonderful reports to read. A.net wouldn’t be the same without them.

Happy flying

In compliance with the requirements from Hong Kong Civil Aviation, CX implements a full reconciliation of passenger travel document check at the boarding gate of Hong Kong International Airport, by comparing the name on the passenger's boarding pass with the name in the travel document, and by comparing the photograph in the document with the passenger.

what a wonderful conclusion to this trip report series. And a really great way to end such an epic journey with a C class flight on Cathay. Certainly a great experience to fly on the upper deck of a classic 747-400.

Great to read the final installment of your trip Suryo.

The first lounge you went in appeared to have a much more airy feel than the second. Both seem pretty good though and the F&B offerings seem better than BA's. HKIA seems like a very decent airport in general - hoping to pay a visit there (and to Hong Kong itself) a bit later in the year, also with a couple of sectors on CX. CX do seem to have a very strong product and their staff seem good too.

Enjoy your next travels, and I look forward to reading all about them!

So many lounges in HKG???

There were three CX lounges (The Wing, The Pier, The Cabin) and one Dragonair lounge (The G16).

Quoting eastafspot (Reply 35):
have you been in all of them during your previous trips with CX?

We have been in all of them except The Cabin.

Quoting eastafspot (Reply 35):
Was it because they saw you taking pictures of everything?

It could be one reason. In any case, I loved to do that for Norli and Karen.

James,

The first lounge you went in appeared to have a much more airy feel than the second.

Do you know that the first lounge (The Wing) has completed the final phase of the complete renovation starting from late-2010 in the first week of this month?

The Wing is CX’s flagship lounge which has set a new standard in airline ground service when it launched in 1998, offering passengers unparalleled levels of comfort and convenience. While the second (The Pier) has been launched as CX premium lounge in addition to The Wing.

Quoting jwhite9185 (Reply 38):
Both seem pretty good though and the F&B offerings seem better than BA's.

If you say that about CX's F&B offerings in comparison to BA’s, then I believe you.

Quoting jwhite9185 (Reply 38):
HKIA seems like a very decent airport in general

HKIA is making every effort to provide passengers with an excellent airport experience and it shows by many accolades including the top five ranking for Airport of Service Quality Awards in four consecutive years since 2008.

Quoting jwhite9185 (Reply 38):
hoping to pay a visit there (and to Hong Kong itself) a bit later in the year, also with a couple of sectors on CX.

Hi Suryo,

So glad I can now reply to this report. It was a great read, but final instalments like these are a bit sad! However the upper deck of a 747 is a perfect way to end a trip....and that too in Business Class!!

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
’Sleeping well, Ariel?’
Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
‘As you barely recalled anything after having this pale ale lager with alcohol content of only 5 percent abv,’
Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
Or are you more into Gangnam Style? Op op op oppan Gangnam Style…’
’Have you been drinking, Ariel?’

Ooh naughty Ariel, been drinking have we!! lol.....Now I'd have love to see Ariel perform to Gangnam Style!!

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
’Look how the undulating shapes on the ceiling see for wave expression

Very nice!!

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
My boarding pass

92A...Not a number you'd see for business class up front, but with most airlines dedicating entire floors on the A380 to their J class sections, I think the numbers are now normal

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
Not the place to be for us, non-single travelers,’

But such a nice area for Ariel to try and recover from the hangover....Maybe then new Hangover 3 has already taken place in Hong Kong, starring Ariel lol

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
One or two had to be directed to another queue.

So polite of you not to mention they were Economy passengers lol

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
I will have the supper, please,”

Good choice!!

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
Clockwise from bottom: Omelette with creamy beans, breakfast cold plate and dim sum

Hmmm I'd have opted for the Omelette...very surprising no seafood option...I think I've seen that been served as breakfast before.

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
Three of you have just come together on this particular flight. What do you think?’

Milestones indeed....Some FAs have been at their jobs for years, unlike the trend nowadays to join, see the world and leave.

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
Honestly, I have to dig deeper into the memories to recall how unpleasant my encounter was with the red phantom. It did not matter anymore. Not at all!

Who can ever forget that Red Phantom that scared poor Ariel away for the longest time.....only returning back much later.

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
flightsimboy,

Thank you for the acknowledgement!!

Goedenavond Suryo,

Beautiful pictures of Hong Kong at night, great stuff man!
Both lounges look good with some nice offerings. Although I prefer the wing more, also because it was much less busy
CX looks very good here. Great crew and the food looks delicious! Not a big fan of the seating though..

Terminal 2 looks fantastic, especially like the ceiling!

Quoting akhmad (Reply 1):
FIDS

A nice list of destinations there. Interesting to see one flight is estimated to depart 1 minute earlier :P

Quoting akhmad (Reply 1):
International newspapers and magazines

That is a looooooong rack

Quoting akhmad (Reply 1):
Ginger Swing
Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
Ocean Breeze

They both look delicious, hmm

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
At 01.15 local Hong Kong time, after three weeks of memorable holiday, we embarked on our final journey homeward bound.

Don't you just hate that feeling
Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):
My sweet indulgence with Dow’s Late Bottled Vintage Port 2006

That cheesecake looks godly!

Quoting akhmad (Thread starter):

Allow me this opportunity to express my gratitude once again to all of you for your heartwarming replies in my trip report series to The Land Down Under

No problems, thank you very much for putting every report together in this series. I enjoyed every one of them very much. thanks for putting the time and effort into this

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):

I just can’t say enough how you make me happy every time with your reply.

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
However the upper deck of a 747 is a perfect way to end a trip....and that too in Business Class!!

While being taken good care of by Norli and Karen!

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
Ooh naughty Ariel, been drinking have we!! lol.....

He was so busted!

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
Now I'd have love to see Ariel perform to Gangnam Style!!

Don’t suggest him the idea!

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
92A...Not a number you'd see for business class up front,

Well, last row Business Class tends to have the highest number. KLM for instance has got 68 for last row Economy Class and 80 for last row Business Class.

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
but with most airlines dedicating entire floors on the A380 to their J class sections, I think the numbers are now normal

Agreed. Singapore Airlines has got 96 for last row Business Class on its all upper deck Business Class A380s.

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
But such a nice area for Ariel to try and recover from the hangover....

That’s true! LOL

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
Maybe then new Hangover 3 has already taken place in Hong Kong, starring Ariel lol

’Ariel, is there anything you need to tell us?'

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
So polite of you not to mention they were Economy passengers lol

Thank you.

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
Good choice!!

You and I just think alike!

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
Hmmm I'd have opted for the Omelette...

That would be fine.

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
very surprising no seafood option...I think I've seen that been served as breakfast before.

Correct! I had seafood congee for breakfast before arrival in HKG.

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
Milestones indeed....

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
Some FAs have been at their jobs for years, unlike the trend nowadays to join, see the world and leave.

Interestingly, all new Flight Attendants are given a three-year contract since 1996 as CX wants to reward them more fairly in view of global market trends and also to allow its people to reinforce their career decision after three years.

It proves CX’s great employment practices as one of Hong Kong’s most progressive employers by providing a work environment for the highest standards in quality and excellence whilst rewarding career opportunities that not only promote professional growth but lifestyle and personal growth.

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
Who can ever forget that Red Phantom that scared poor Ariel away for the longest time.....only returning back much later.

Thank you so much for your sympathy.

Quoting flightsimboy (Reply 41):
Thank you for the acknowledgement!!

True, as Luke also pointed out.

Quoting lukeyboy95 (Reply 13):
The Pier looked well populated but i guess it is the busiest time of the day for European departures.

Quoting adamspotter (Reply 42):
Great crew and the food looks delicious!

As Léonard has rightly pointed out, the following Missions of CX are not just words.

We provide outstanding products and services
We consistently deliver Service Straight From The Heart

Quoting adamspotter (Reply 42):
Not a big fan of the seating though..

That’s fair. Unfortunately, the 747-400’s business class cabin will not be refurbished unlike the 777-300ER’s or A330-300’s.

Quoting adamspotter (Reply 42):
Every Apple store always seems to be filled to the brim!

Amazing, isn’t it?

Quoting adamspotter (Reply 42):
That looks like one ice cold and delicious beer

With tantalizing hop bitterness!

Quoting adamspotter (Reply 42):
A nice list of destinations there. Interesting to see one flight is estimated to depart 1 minute earlier :P

Swiss punctuality, you know.

Quoting adamspotter (Reply 42):
That is a looooooong rack

And there are at least two of them!

Quoting adamspotter (Reply 42):
They both look delicious, hmm

IrishAyes just put it aptly.

Quoting IrishAyes (Reply 8):
The drinks on CX look unreal. Definition of differentiation!

Quoting adamspotter (Reply 42):

Heavenly creamy and crumbly at the same time!
