Date: 23 Dec 2012
Route: Jakarta (CGK) – Perth (PER)
Flight: Garuda GA724
ETD: 0605
ETA: 13:20
Seat: 3B (Executive Class)

Flight Time: 1hr 33mins (CGK-DPS) 3hrs 15mins (DPS-PER)
Registration: PK-GML
First Flight: 1 Feb 2010

Tis the season to be jolly so its time to head back home down under for a summer x’mas and new years. This time its going to be real fun as a couple of friends also decided to meet up with us in Sydney to spend new years eve on a yacht on the harbour. I managed to secure a Falcon 900C from PER-SYD-PER and I my main focus of the TR will be on this, but now its the sector from Jakarta to Perth.

Sadly the only direct flight from Jakarta to Perth is with Jetstar, if you want a full service carrier, Garuda has a daily service from Jakarta, albeit with a 40 min stopover in DPS. But thankfully from July 2013, it will be direct again. I really hate flights that depart real early in the morning. We arrived at the airport with about 1hr15mins to spare before departure. After formalities were completed, we just spend what ever little time we had left in the lounge as nothing as open yet at this time.

Cabin shots are inflight meal

As mentioned before this is the main highlight of our trip. The Falcon 900 is really a magnificent aircraft and we all thoroughly enjoyed our trip to and from Sydney. Service of course was impeccable. But for me, I was happy being in the cockpit for most of the journey. I now shall just le the pictures speak for themselves.

In time, we touched down in Perth, times seems to fly when you are having a great holiday with family and friends. Really had no regrets chartering the Falcon 900C, it was indeed a fantastic aircraft with a equally fantastic crew.

The end of the holiday, but as my wife and kids decided to stay in Perth for about another 2 months, I shall be making many trips back and fourth to Perth.
As I have already reported GA’s B738 so many times, I shall just leave one last parting picture, which is PK-GMX, taking me back to CGK.

Thanks for reading and sorry for the delay in posting my TR’s as I have had a really busy start to the year.

Hi thaia345

That sure is a nice way to fly. No queues, plenty of space to spread out, privacy and knowing that everyone who is on board (apart from crew) is there because they are your guest. It doesn't get better.

The Dassault Falcon 900C sure is a great aircraft and the one you had is very pleasantly appointed. The service appears to have been of a high standard too. Nice to be able to have a pilot's eye view, almost.

Hello Sydney

Umm, Hello Perth. Looks like a little mix up with the photo. Never mind, I like Perth. But then, I'm biased seeing as I live here.

Thanks for sharing.

Bro, it was very nice to finally meet you in Perth. Wow, a private jet charter - it doesn't get better than this, does it?

Although I am curious, how does the prices on GA (JCL) to PER compare to other carriers? Ex-SIN, they are priced similarly to SQ believe it or not.

Welcome to my starry one world alliance, a team in the sky!

Hi,

Always cool to see a private jet report! You certainly traveled in style. The service on Garuda also looked pretty good.

Thanks,

Thank you for posting such a classy report. For sure, a great off the beaten path experience for most of us. What a great plane and nice service.

Hope to read more in the future!

Cheers

Actually one key fact I like about private charter is being able to be in the cockpit all the time and as I want
Yikes, certainly got the pictures mixed up as sometimes its hard to see the thumbnails on photobucket clearly. Hey I am a Perth guy. so defintiely biased to Perth too ahahahahah

It was really nice to catch up with you in Perth too. Yup, private charters are nice, but gotta cut them down before I totally spoil myself hahaha

Quoting Ryanair!!! (Reply 2):

Off peak fares I usually get at around 1600 USD, but like during the Hari Raya time, which I have booked for this Aug, its USD 2025, and from JUly its also a direct flight to Perth, no more via DPS

Thanks for reading, the travelling in style part its all due me being an aviation nut   ....Garuda has certainly picked itself up the past few years, and I happily fly on them. Can't wait for their B773ER to come online and with F class on board too. Actually I will be coming over to AKL in August. Flying with NZ on their B772ER from Perth, spending a night in AKL before going for my ski trip to ZQN, just realised NZ's A320 operating AKL to ZQN are in an all Y config?

Flying with NZ on their B772ER from Perth, spending a night in AKL before going for my ski trip to ZQN, just realised NZ's A320 operating AKL to ZQN are in an all Y config?

Since 2010 all of NZ A320s have been configured as all Economy, same with the 733s expect they did this in 2002.

Thanks for the info, hopefully they are generous in the leg room!

Cheers

If you have *G status Yes, if not your likely to bit down the back with a 30" seat pitch vs the 35" in the front of the plane

Nice report and, of course, who wouldn't be jealous of your experience in the private jet? Out of curiosity, how did you go about booking it?

Wow great trip report.

Very, very rare to see reports about flights on business jets here.

Well I have to say flying private is the way to go,,,,,,BUT IMHO this aircraft was ugly, wrong colors. seating, materials, arrangement...very impersonable. The entire layout was like a trailer in the air. A French door with mirrors...Please! Realy!!

As a frequent visitor to Perth and a local Perth resident, surely you are able to tell the difference between Sydney and Perth
I have to agree with you Perth is better than Sydney - lifestyle is way more relaxed in the West and the houses built are solid double bricks and not 'cardboard' material.
Borrowing a famous airline slogan " A Great Way to Fly"

Well, I also figured an Autralian owner would now order an aircraft in this combo, so basically was told that this aircraft was originally ordered by the queen of Jordan, but she did not take delivery in the end, and it went to become a presidential aircraft of equatorial guinea before being bought and sent over to Aus.

Agree with you on that, I mean I do love going to Melb and Syd, but Perth is always home sweet home
