Just back from Hong Kong a week ago, and I am now going back there. This time its for work. I will have a business conference till the 9th. On the 10th I have another meeting in Nanning, China (First time going there for me) and after that its back to Jakarta via another night in Hong Kong.
Being Sunday, I really didn’t have to rush to the airport. Arrived with about 1 hour to spare. After formalities were completed, I just stayed at the lounge till boarding was called.
B-LAI taking me to HKG
A cheerful crew greeted me on board and I am happy to be onboard an A333 which is equipped with the new J seats which are a far cry from the dreaded herringbone ones.

Meals were served approximately 50mins after take off
After the meals, I managed to finish off a movie on the AVOD before taking a nice nap, actually the new J seats are just so comfortable that the cabin crew had to wake me up as we were on final descend into HKG.
Another great flight with CX.

Now its time to head off to Nanning for another business meeting. This will be 2 first for me. First time to Nanning, and first time flying Hong Kong Airlines. Arrived at HKIA with about 2 hrs to spare. Just took my time browsing the shops and also paying a few visits to the smoking room. I didn’t bother going to the Hong Kong Airlines Lounge though. Kind of getting board with lounges now.
B-LPB taking us to Nanning. If you notice the colours of this bird is similar to several other airlines. This is because Hong Kong Airlines is owned by the Hainan Airlines Group, hence all airlines under their group uses the same colour scheme.
Once I boarded the aircraft, I was pleasantly surprised that the crew were really enthusiastic and young. Really bright and chirpy from the get go.

After my meetings ended and after a good 1 night stay at the Marriott Nanning, its now time to head back to Hong Kong. The current terminal in Nanning is really old and small, however a new terminal is being built across the runway.
After checking in, we found out that our flight was delayed by around 1 hour. I was told by the check in staff that the flight outbound from Nanning is frequently delayed by around 30-50mins.
Our bird arriving late. Actually pretty amazing that they turned the aircraft around in just around 20mins

After 5 days away for work, its time to head back home. The airport train took me quickly back to the airport and after formalities were completed, I still had an hour to spare. Bought some duty free and paid a visit to the smoking room. By the time I took a leisurely stroll to the gate, boarding has just commenced.
My bird taking me back home, and judging by the rego, lucky me, its yet again the new J seats onboard.
The meal was served around1 hours after take off. Crew was good and efficient as usual. I spent the rest of my time taking short naps and going through my ipad and the AVOD too. Overall another great flight with CX.

Hello Mr. Thaia345,
Another great report from you. I must say that I enjoyed reading your trip reports since the day I entered the TR forum in a-net.
Cathay Pacific new Business Class seats seems really great to those herringbone seats, and certainly even much better than the old regional seats you covered in the other CX trip report. I just wonder if CX also deployed aircraft equipped with their new Regional Business Class seats into CGK, or maybe other Indonesian cities served by CX?
UO seems to deliver a Business Class product within the standards for such a short flight. I was surprised with the last photo actually, that BI used the B772 for CGK route. Flown several times with them to BWN and it was always the A320 series.
