This is a story about four flights to catch one of the lesser known places around Europe, ok at least around western Europe, or do you believe that words like:

Gweiddi, annwyl darllenwyr,

are really belonging to a western European language?.

It stands for:

Hello, dear readers,

does anybody remember about these guy´s at the scheduling department?.
They have done a tough job to fit this all together on short notice just some two weeks prior to the trip.
And they managed it also to propose a shorty meet on the way.

This happens only some days after the return from:

Well, it´s always interesting to go ontime on a service that should depart prior to the airport opening time, isn´t it?.
Forcing the pax early for the gate, the plane at the runway entrance with the pilots fingers at the throttle and as soon as the clock strikes 06.00 am firing down the runway!.

Ah, the short nights are good for me, isn´t it?.
02.45 am, it feels like just a second after I´am flake out, but anyway I´am up and ready for the no traffic ride till the airport. Lot´s of people not at work today due to the possible long weekend, so it seems.
And that´s maybe also the reason to catch these flights on short notice with a real good fare. Two legs today and one more next week on one confirmation managed by Flugladen.de, the fare this way 55.00 Euro´s per leg.
P0 welcome, wished the car a relaxed day with all the planes coming and going and heading for the terminal. OLCI works well, but there is a printout to catch, what works also well in the end by the kiosks.
What about a view to the screen?.

pax boarded, the guy with the four stripes closer to 60 than 50 at the planes door following me doing pictures.

It´s a beautiful plane, isn´t it?".
"It is, I love it".
Also a nice welcome from a middle aged, well built female FA with a heavy "Switzerdütsch" accent, oh, yes, I like it!.
There is another young, slim, black hair, ponytail also nice FA on the plane.
It´s 5.50 am when we leave the gate, perfectly ontime,
25 minutes only for ZRH by "Helvetic".
6 degrees and high clouds.
Sure a good first impression from the staff and also from the interior

The captain is on the mike during taxi, we made it and beat AB, no. 1 for takeoff today.

Legroom is pretty good here with the bright grey leather seats, well used, but clean.

And just by coincidence or not, these nice young woman with a special relationship to ZRH airport is at the terminal entrance.
Oh, yes, it feels really good, H., to see you here this early morning, you know.

"Oh no, I really like the F100 and with the first A319 delivered just yesterday to Helvetic we never know how long it is possible to fly the F100".
Now he is surprised.
"You know a lot about the company".
"Just a little bit more than the standard pax".
It seem´s he´s satisfied.
"Welcome, take you´re seat please".
07.25 am, short after schedule, 1.00 hour, 30 minutes for England by "Helvetic".

There is a train service from Cardiff Central to Rhoose station near the airport.
The fare is 4.00 pounds, driving time 30 minutes.
Now we don´t know if the carriage or the whitehaired driver is more experienced, but it works!

Reason enough for him also to explain me the way for the lounge en detail, not that there is a high risk here that you get lost and printed a lounge invitation for me, well done.

Just departed from the 2353 meters runway "Three-Zero" with a nice view

Cabin crew is one young blonde female FA, well built to say the least and nice talking later on, she´s heading once more to the island shortly after this leg for Durham-Tees-Valley this time.
She asked every passenger separately and serves coffee and water from the tray, impressive.
There is also a young latino style woman on the plane, relaxed and nice from the first short talking at the planes door.

Another one of these not that really well managed experiences at the Schengen entry.
Some five minutes at the passport check, ok,
but security directly behind is overcrowded with people
from everywhere around the world and the often seen drama with precious liquids from India, China or Southern America confiscated by the security staff is terrible as always.

The captain with a very nice and detailed welcome after boarding.
Some ATC restrictions expected, but nothign really serious.
9.00 pm, only short behind schedule, 1.00 hour to go for STR by "City".
Departure from the 3300 meters "Three-Six-Center", 12 degrees and partly cloudy by now.

The captain is on the mike again with very nice, relaxed arrivals information and a Bye-Bye during approach.
Neither route nor flightlevel informations.
Touchdown at "Zero-Seven", 10.05 pm, short ahead to schedule and 14 partly cloudy degrees.
The car is where it should be
and not that long thereafter well ontime at the homebase.

Conclusions, sure:
1.)Helvetic STR-ZRH: Short and nice crew by Helvetic.
2.)Helvetic ZRH-BHX: A comfy experience Helvetic style.
3.)KLM Cityhopper CWL-AMS: Relaxed by KLC.
4.)KLM Cityhopper AMS-STR: Lots of open seats are good for a comfy ride again.

And now it seems I should better place a tent here!.
There are some 8 hours only in between touchdown and departure for the next flight, the ride back home, preparations and just a little sleep!.

Thanks for the good story! I had no idea that Helvetic replacing it´s Fokker´s with A319.That´s a little bit sad especially since we just heard that KL will retire theirs Fokkers too  Good of you try to catch some before they all gone. The Fokkers is far more interesting then a A319 for example!

Another day, another story, nothing else expected   If only you could have done a 4 Fokker journey, now it was 3 Fokker and a Jungle Jet (which was of course equally nice!). Helvetic was a nice suprise for me as well last year, I've flown them from ZRH to BRU on one of them F100's and yes, they are pretty special on the inside with the red carpet and grey-whitish seats.

Great report Markus! I actually did a similar trip early this year, but I flew to BRS and then on by train to Cardiff and fly back from CWL. Cardiff is indeed a nice small city, worth visiting! The airport is smaller then I expected, but with a nice lounge for it's size indeed.
