This is a trip I took in April 2000 so I can't remember specific things like time and aircraft registrations. I hope it's not too long.
MAN - LHR BA1383 B757/300 April 3 2000
I arrived at Manchester's Terminal 3 at 5am for my 7am flight to LHR. The terminal itself was very quiet, not a lot of flights in the morning. I was then checked in for both my BA flights to LHR and LAX. Anyway we boarded at 06.40 and we took off on time. The crew said the flight time would be about 30-40 minutes. Half way through the flight the crew handed out breakfast, which I have to say wasn't very nice. It was a bacon (very cold) and cheese roll (i'm not a cheese fan!) with a very plain muffin also.
When we touched down at Heathrow, a man let me get off first. This man was no other than Ken Dodd!. He said something like "beauty before age" when he let me through.Apparently he was going to do a gigg for breast cancer charity.
After making my bus connection from LHR's terminal 1 to terminal 4, I had hours to kill before my noon flight to LA. I went to the cafe to get a proper breakfast before I took some shots of Concorde coming in from JFK. We boarded at 11.30 and I found myself in a window seat. We were away on time and the captain said our flight time would be 10h 51mins. There would be two movies on, The Talented Mr Ripley and Anna and the King, plus various other programmes. I found both films quite boring, and the Talented Mr Ripley had a fault half way through it and had to be played again! However, I did find the cabin crew service good and i'll give them 9/10. The meal was Lamb and Veg with a Dairy Milk bar, which was a lot better than the flight from MAN.
On the approach to LAX, we flew over Vegas (which doesn't look as good during the day) and I got a superb view of the Hollywood hill. We touched down 3pm local time.
When we got to immigration, we were herded like cattle into lines. I was quite pissed off by this, especially after a long flight, then came the long check in queues for my my flight to HNL.
LAX-HNL UA69 Boeing 757-200
I took the bus to terminal 7 and walked all the way to my gate, where my 752 was waiting. The woman who was at the gate was quite friendly, contrary to the immigration people. The aircraft still had United's old seats and the interior looked like it needed an upgrade. I got a window seat at the left of the plane. The captain said the flight time would be 5hrs 22mins which I think is quite long for a flight to HNL. We left on time at 6pm.
The crew announced that the film would be - The Talented Mr Ripley (AGAIN!!)
This probably made me doze off so I missed the dinner. When I woke up we were only 80 miles from HNL. We landed at 9pm local time and I was ready for my 2 week visit in Hawaii.
HNL - SFO UA62 Boeing 767-300 April 19 2000
I decided that the best thing to do was to get a late flight out of HNL and stay in a hotel to rest for a few hours at San Francisco. I was quite tired so I was asleep for most of the flight, which took 4h 40 mins. Would you believe it, the film was Anna and the King again so I had no trouble getting to sleep. We landed at SFO at 6am.
I got a bus from the airport to the Embassy Suites hotel. For anyone staying in a hotel in San Francisco this is the place to stay. Very comfortable, great surface and great views of planes arriving at SFO, without the aircraft noise.
After my short stay it was back to the airport to get my flight back to England.
SFO-LHR BA284 Boeing 747-400 April 20 2000
I arrived at the new international terminal at SFO which was only just built. After checking in I walked all the way to our gate were our 744 was waiting for us. It was still in the Landor livery. I got a window seat on the left side of the aircraft. The flight itself was very comfortable and probably the best out of all of them. It took 9hrs 40mins aided by a tailwind. The dinner was Cajun Chicken which was very good. This time, the movies shown were - Galaxy Quest, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd with The Simpsons and Johnathan Creek also on. All very enjoyable. The crew made us shut the window when it was night as there was nothing to see and some people were trying to sleep. When day broke, we were over Belfast which looks quite nice from the air. Then we flew over the Isle of Man, Liverpool and then into Heathrow. I thoroughly enjoyed this trip and I would give it 9/10.
This was my last flight. This time I had to walk all the way from T4 to T3 and then get a bus to T1. The flight was full so this time it was hard for me to get a window seat. The flight passed uneventfully with hardly any service from the cabin crew.

Thanks for that reply.
When we were flying over Vegas, everyone on the plane ran over to my side to see it. The captain said the plane was turning due to the weight of the people! Interestingly, no one ran over to see Hollywood.
