Beginning of October I decided with my old munich friends that we like to visit the systems (Computer exhibition like CBIT but with a little bit more B2B focus)
which took place on the old munich airport area in Riem.
We decided to meet us on monday 14.october 2002.
Afterwards I'd a look on my QG mileage balance, well 2 european free flights left and I tried to use one of them. which was definitly no problem.

Well wake up early monday morning, because I don't live in ZRH (bad).
So first part of the journey I took the bus to the railway station, than I'd to change the train in ZRH (the bad part of the trip). Since the last train was delayed I arrived on the airport 4 minutes before the close the checkin (F***k oh my dear you know what I like to say  Wink/being sarcastic ) desk.
Fortunatly I used one of this nice check-in automates (Swiss flight LX1102 outbound and LX1111 inbound). Automate asked me if I want a windows seat (oh I wanted !) and if I like to check-in for my return flight (Iwanted too).
I got my boarding passes very quickly (yeah computers are soooo nice, they don't waste time to ask further questions). Boarding time was estimeted 08:50 which seemed to my early (but later I new why ....).
well hurry up to the customs check (I wont miss the nice duty free shop ...)
took a while, no clue why.
downstairs to the duty free, I bought some choclate for my friends and cigarettes for me  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
then straight ahead passing the security (no queue, no tourists, no troubles) i saw my gate (A56) and there they checked the passports twice, so boarding took a long time, although it was only a half filled Saab 2000 *aargh*
as usual a bus braught us to the little prop. My seat was one of this stand-alone seats in the S20 (like embraer have two).
On the short flight the served coffee, tea croissants and cakes I couldn't describe (with fruits and cheese nearly similar but better what we call in Austria "Topfengolatsche"). So, well I'd a tasteful breakfast.
Flight itself was uneventful and due to real bad weather I couldn't see too much (ok little bit turbulences after the pilot began the descent to munich, but I could avoid the cup of coffee to come up to my trousers - the F/A meant it really good and fullfilled it excellent).
After landing it seemed that they had troubles with the bagage "delivery at aircraft", for me it seemed it took hours (only ten minutes or so ...) because I'd the knowledge that the next airport shuttle - "Messe Muenchen" would go in the next few minutes.
ok after boarding the but I tried to be the first at the customs check (seems the officer was surprised one women lost in space but gave me my lila passport back very quickly).
End of this part of this story - i could see the bus (maybe I could stop it if I try to make suicide ? - I decided not to do and had to wait twnty minutes).

*snip* systems *snip* - questions of this part of the trip are answered via mailto:juttaedith@yahoo.fr

after they closed the exhibition I'd a beer with my friends in the old munich airport area in riem and then I'd to take the bus back to the airport.
now it rained cats and dogs - ce la vie
since I'd my boarding pass already I entered the area in terminal D where my gate should be (D05).
now I'd aproximatly 15 minutes to wait until the board us in combination with the passport check, everything very uneventful (I'd a nice speech with 2 guys waiting for their DBA flight back).
Bus gate and after a whole rountrip in the munich airports area outside by bus we could see our Jumbolino which was ready to bring us back.
Sad to say now it was nearly dark and it was still raining, but on the taxiway I saw an good old friend (CRJ FU, this bird is so colorful you can recognize).
We had gotten a sandwich and some drinks on the flight back.
and then I'd to go by train and bus back.
Sorry return is now a little bit shorter I'd to hurry up.

Ciao Ju(-mbolino -tta)

Kind Regards, Jutta.

Wow, I guess this is the first trip report to Munich-Riem Big grin Do you mark the registrations of your flights? If not, can you tell us at least if the aircraft were already in Swiss colours? Or still Crossair? How about the headrest covers ("Läusefänger"), I think they still use the old Crossair headrest covers, don't they?

So you really prefer the check-in machines over "real" check-in agents?

Hi Ndebele,

If I remember right, the Saab 2000 which braught us to munich was in Swiss colors and the Avro which braught us back, not.
I've to admit I didn't look at the headrest covers, on most aircrafts the use the old one but all these one with "Swissair Crossair flying together are a long time term gone away" but the origin Crossair they are still in use, yes ( i saw it one my Leipzig flight in July, yes without trip report, but now I could post it trip to Leipzig and Dresden to see it before of the high water mark :-( )
And yes, I like this silent and fast machines to use it for check-in at least since the time I'd gotten in INN a dummy boarding pass from a real living girl instead of a machine (machine's couldn't make such stupid things).

Ok post the story here:
On 28th of october 2000 I hold one tkt INN-ZRH Air Littoral (SR 3007) on behalf of Swissair and the next day 29th of october ZRH-DUS Lufthansa City Line (LH5373). I baught both at Swissair office in DUS, but I hold 2 different tkt and as you can read there I'd a stop over (night) in ZRH.
As I wanted to check-in in INN the girl asked me if she should check-in me directly to DUS and I agreed but she checked in my baggage also to final destination and I told her that I need the luggage in ZRH so she checked out my baggage completly and gave me the two boarding passes, what I don't know was that I now was holding dummy boarding passes, because she checked me out TOO !
It was the last day I "lived" in INN so I was sad that I'd to leave the city after living over 9 years there.
Boarding the ATR-42 500 (F-GPYO) was very fast and we land in ZRH 40 minutes later. I went downtown ZRH, called my girl-friend Carmen had a nice evening and next day 3 hours before boarding time of my LH flight I'd liked to check in my luggage too, because I wanted to go to observation deck and having a coffee and all this things are easier without carry something about 10 kg with you. There the girl told me "oh a dummy boarding pass on you seat another girl is still sitting *aargh*.
Since this time I hate some kind of check-in agents, not all ....
(oh check-in in INN was done by air alps aviation since this time my "special friends")

@Ndebele On my Swiss flight to PRG we had a RJ85 in full Swiss colours and they had Swiss headrest covers, no more Crossair.

Hi Patrick,

I wrote you an email about an hour ago, that I'll join the meeting in FRA on saturday,
but need some assistance (logistical problems) how to handle it (as I wrote in the other posting and maybe you can expect from the trip report above, I live in the middle of nowhere).

CU Ju
