london Heathrow T2 to Paris CDG 2F
After meeting with my dad in Birmingham , i took the bus at 3:00 AM to Heathrow Central bus station (which is for terminals one and two)
i arrived there at 5:30 , and found my way through to T2 , which was slightly crowded , where all European flights were about to depart ....including Swiss to zurich , and Geneva , AF to CDG and lyon, Alitalaia, to Milan and Rome. Iberia to Barcelona ... I had to check in at desks 61-69 , which was also used to all skyteam members , and Syrian airlines, Libyan arab airlines, and Tunis air.
There was a LONG que , with only 2 bizz counters , and 5 economy counters, considering there 4 flights in the morning to CDG.
Mine was the last :

After waiting in the que for about half an hour, i managed to check in my only suitcase , it was quick , and was quicklly assigned my window seat 15F , which was the first row after bizz class , the first in economy. and got given a window seat for my next part of the journey.
I tried to ask for a 1st row seat , since i injured my knee 2 weeks ago , but they said to check in CDG since they can do it from LHR for security reasons.
Most shops were closed at T2 , so i had something coffee and something to eat at Costa , then went thru to Departure lounge, T2 is quite small , and there is nothing great about it , bought i few gifts , made a few phone calls , checking my email on the internet, then i had an hour to kill , so i went to T1 , whic is a 2 min walk , where they had a clear view of the runway ahead (09R) which was used for takeoff at that time . sunrise was at 7:50, so i was able to see some movement,I heard annoucments about loads of BA flights to sttugart , Dussledorf, and barcelona , delays , late passengers. etccc....
T1 was quite busy.
I remeber seeing 2 Swiss airliness A320 , a A321 and an A330 .Lufthansa A321 and B737-500 , plus BAE 146, and air portugal A319, Iberia A320,Airfrance B737-500 to Lyon and A320 to CDG. Alitalia A320;s and MD-80 to Milan and Rome.
Isaw loads of BA 747's and B777's takeoff , plus A concorde taxi somewhere . to terminal 4 i think.
our acft arrived at 08:45 , a dirty A320 ( i was quite excited to be honest , it was my 1st A320) i usually fly large acfts , B767's and A330's and B777's.
so i went to the Gate 12 , there were 2 nice spanish girls going to Cuba infront of me waiting to check in
There were newspapers offered by AF , boarding commenecd At 9:10, a french women started rambbling on about babies and rows , but i doubt anyone understood anything .....no offence to anyone who is french
acft was alright, quite dirty , the two inflight magazines were all about fashion and make-up , REALLY BORING STUFF .
we took taxied to runway 9R , and waiting for BA A319 to take off , after us was a BM A320 , and a BA B737.
As usual , i saw the 3 South african B747-400 , at the BA amintanance hanger.
take off was smooth , and breakfast was served , were tissues were handed out , and a cold bucket of french pastries came around , where you had to choose something , i had the the french choco crossiant (is that what u call it , rite?)
the weahter was very cloudy , so i couldnt see a thing , landed at cdg 2 very soon afterwards,
I saw an Air Algeria B767 , an air afriquiya B737 , and Tunis air B 737-500 and royal air maroc B737-800 ...
we deboadred at 2F and that terminal was very busy , so i managed to get through and found a transfer desk , after trying to communicate to a stuiped frenchman , he finally realised , that i wanted an aisle seat (1st row) , and so my request was granted 20 mins later .
Took a crowded bus to T2A . after i arrived there , security checks were made , and saw the gate A50 , were the flight is started to depart from , but there was no acft there ... so i decided to getsomething to eat , which was another mission (no english labels and no english speaking staff) , luckily , i found an arabic cleaner (who was morrocan) , so i got some advise!
next to us , was a contentinantal (sp?) B767-200 to Newark , that was supposed to board an hour ago , but is still late , there was a long que behiind the gate ( appeared to be a 100% full flight), next to that , was the Veitnam airlines to DXB, B767 , which departed on Time . Then 2 Delta MD-11's just parked there. Boarding commenced , and we were taken to out B777 acft , which was parked in a remote area , next to an A330 and an B777.

I was informed that All 3 classes were fully booked ...and that was very true.
found my seat and sat next to two old frenchman, who didnt seem very talkative.
There were quite a few americans on board , since it the flight was a code-share with Delta airlines too. One of the american PAX , had a massive sticker on his handbag saying "11-09-2001 , a day we will never forget"
anyway, annoucements were made in french and english , entertaiment commened 30 mins later after takeoff ,
i watched an excellent movie called insomnia , then listend to the radio throughout.
A lunch service started an Hour after takeoff, which was :
MEDALLION OF DUCK FOIE GRAS, CABBAGE AND APPLE SALAD
BEEF WITH CARROTS AND POTATO
SALMON WITH DILL SAUCE AND SAFFRON RICE.
COFFE AND TEA
Between meals ,beverages were available in the galleys.
I had the beef , which was good , the duck was not that bad actually , very different . The fruit was an orange, the cheese was excellent , and the french bread was very good , so i asked for more..
They came around twice for drinks and bread.
I quickly fell asleep, and woke up 3 hours later , it was dark ,and were over Bahrain , and about to land into dubai.
FA'a came arounnd with some tissue , salmon and cream cheese sandwiches ,or cake ...i had the salmon sandwich , still quite good..
we landed in 5 mins late., 22:50, and saw the following
We parked next to the Veitnam B767
Gulf air , A320 taking off,
another GF A320 and B767 parked ..
a Thai A330
Cathy pacific B777-300
air india A310,
an royal air maroc (didnt see the acft properly)
and loads of emirates planes
We quickly left the acft, and found my way to the bagge claim , my luggage appeared very quickly (very impresive ) and i was out of the building at 23:30, considering we thouched down at 22:50.
I saw my aunt and mom waiting for me outside .
There were loads of passengers going to Emirates towers , Le meredian , and Burj al arab ,and Jumeriah beach Hotel ...
The weather here in Dubai is Excellent , its about 21C , better than 2C in london.....
overall , an alright joureny , certainely better than KLM , but i think i have come to a conclusion , that Emirates and British airways, are Far better, and prob. the best i have ever tried.

I am happy that you enjoyed your flight with AF.
However, about signs in CDG, I would like to correct your information.
All the signs in CDG are in French, English, and using international visuals.
You are not the first one to mention that the signs are not in English. That's why I verified it during my previous trip. Maybe you (and other people) have this feeling because French comes first, and the color for the English translation is not the same, giving the feeling that there is no English at all?
Just verify during your return flight.
It could be good to give your feedback to ADP

Thank you very much for your point. To be honest , you might be right , because i didnt actually remember if the signs are in french and english , but one thing i remember , is that the cafe in terminal 2A serves very good food , but its really quite hard to understand that labels on food , and what it contains.(its all in french)
secondaly, the staff at CDG barely speak english , which was difficult for communcation !
by the way, T2 is certainely better than T1 , but is T2F newer than T2A?
