I decided to go visit my parents for a few days and the only way I could home was to fly into LGA, then fly out of JFK.
Preflight:
Instead to taking the Blue line at 3am I choice to stay at the Four Points Shereton near the ORD so I wouldn't have to get leave until 5am. Arriving at T3 use the one stop self-ticketing machines and listed myself for my flight. I really enjoy using those one stop machines, espically the fact that if the flight isn't full it will issue a boarding pass not only flight list you. I made my way to security, lo and behold I set of the metal detector (Oddly when I got thru this same detector when I have to go to work I don't set it off, but if I'm non-reving or not in uniform I go off....hmmmmm ). After the ritual wanding I made my way down to H17.
American Airlines
Flight 398
ORD-LGA
MD80
REG: (sorry at H17 you can't see the plane and plus it 6 in the moring I'm not even awake)
Departure: Skd:0600 Act:0555 (Central Standard)
Arrival: Skd:0905 Act:0850 (Eastern Standard)
Seat 26A
This flight was pretty much empty, had 26AB to myself and other than the guy seated in 27DEF the nearest other passanger was up in row 22. The actual flight was pretty much your standard AA ORD-LGA flight, Departed on Rwy 22L, turned toward the lake, nice view of Chicago, On to GIJ (Gipper), TOL, North of CLE, just south of MDT, central NJ, over Staten Island for the Expressway visual in to Rwy 31 in LGA. Only items of interst was that during the arrival in to LGA for a while there another aircraft going to EWR (it looking sorta like a COEX ERJ) was flying below and aft of us. We arrived into LGA early and decided to take the opprotunity to spot for a while and also to use a sabre set to make sure I was ok for my next flight. Heading out of LGA I was orginally going to take NY Airport Bus service to JFK but I didn't want to stand outside all day so I opted to take a cab.
Arriving at Termainal 8 at JFK I quickly realized that my flight was actually going out of Termnial 9 so I had to use the covered (HA) walk way. Now I've flown out of JFK too many times to keep count but I've never seen such caotic construction in my life. Making it to gate 44 we boarded early and I sat down in my seat. I really wish that AA would update the seats in the 75's but one can only wish. After taking my seat the FA offered Momosia, OJ and Water. Not really in a alchol mood I choice the OJ and settled in. After pushing back those wonderful RR engines started up (I love the way they sound). After a really pooky taxi we took off of Rwy 31L Following a ACA Dornier 328JET. There wasn't much to see during the flight except the Atlantic and clouds. The FA came thru the cabin taking luch orders, the choices were either a beef fillet, or chicken breasts on rice with a tomato sauce, I deciced on the beef. The FA brought out the standard Domestic First (even thought first going to the caribbean is technically business) service Drinks, Warm nuts, Salad (they used the cart to servie the salads) and finally entree. All was good and I was especally glad that they offered seconds on the nuts and when when served the salad they gave everyone 2 roll without asking (in 2 years of non-reving in that was a first). They started the flim, "K-19 Widowmaker", and after some minor technical difficulties (the purser couldn't figure out how to turn on the sound). After the movie the showed the standard "Eye on American", about the time the comedy part had started the northwest coast of Puerto Rico, was visiable. Turining parallel to PR, everyone on the righthand side got a great view of San Juan. Starting our decent into St.Thomas, we passed north of Culebra and made a straight in approach to Rwy 8. Clearing the runway a US Airways 757 took off after us followed by a Four Star DC-3, and a Cape Air Cessna 402.

Construction is crazy at all NY airports, EWR, LGA, and JFK. I recommend you take CO or NW out of JFK. The construction on their terminal has been finished and it's not chaotic at all. I took a flight back in AUG with NW out of JFK and it was pleasant since i didn't have to deal with the construction.

NWAgoldelite,
Why would he pay to fly Northwest or Continental when he can fly American for free by non-revving?
