I must say things got off to a good start between me and Usairways when I arrived at BWI at 8:30am and was greeted by a warm friendly ticket agent. Since I had not yet used the Usairways kiosk, I checked in on that machine since you get a 1,000 bonus miles for first time usage. After I was done the agent gladly took my luggage, and when I realized I was given a window seat the agent gladly changed it to an isle seat when I requested that. I am 6'3" 300 lbs, so it is more comfortable for me to sit in an isle seat. Also since I only had a half hour layover in Charlotte, I felt it would make things quicker if I had an isle seat.
Before I get to the flight, parents, if you are flying out of BWI with children go check out the observation deck. They have toys for kids to play in. Plus, an interactive center for kids to learn about flying so you don't have to hear "Why do planes do that?" LOL just kidding. It is also a great place to go and sit and watch all the planes go by.
When it was time to board I realized this was going to be a full flight. So I asked the Usairways agent at the gate if they needed to bump me. They said "Yes" and then they booked me on the next flight to Charlotte and then Nashville. Plus they gave me a free ticket to anywhere in the continental USA. Since I had over an hour to kill I decided to go check out the Usairways lounge. It was nothing great, although the people in there were certainly very nice. The seats were comfortable, and they had some good snacks and drinks.
So now it is time to board my flight to Charlotte on a 737-400. The flight attendants impressed me immediately when they gave me a nice big smile and welcomed me aboard. Since I am a big guy I expected to fight tightly into my seat. However I was surprised to realize I had room to move around. The flight was a bit rough at first, but once we got above the clouds everything smoothed out. Once that happened the drink service started. I asked for some orange juice, and was surprised when I got a nice big cup. Well, it was normal size, but with a small amount of ice. We also got served a huge bag of pretzels...NOT Ha ha ha. It was a very small bag, but who cares it was a short flight. My compliments to the pilots on a nice smooth landing.

We got to Charlotte about 10 minutes early so that gave me a little extra time to make my connecting flight to Nashville. I asked the agent at the gate if they needed to bump anyone. He said no, but he thanked me for offering and said if they needed anyone they would let me know. Well they did not need to bump anyone so I boarded the 737-300. This time the flight attendants did not greet me, but that was ok since they were busy fixing something in the galley. Once again, I was very comfortable in my seat. To my joy, I also got another nice big cup of orange juice, and a bag of pretzels. This was a very smooth and very enjoyable short flight.
Since I had not had much to eat on my flights I was hungry when I got to Nashville. So I was very pleased that my bags were there waiting for me since I had been bumped.

It was time to head back. Since my business conference ended at noon, and I was the only one flying, I had to arrive at the airport 5 hours early. Where my conference was, there was nothing else to do so it made sense just to hang out at the airport. I did not have a rental car, and I did not have much cash, so I had to depend on a friend to drop me off. I forgot that you can't check in for a flight until no earlier then 4 hours early. I tried to check in at the kiosk, but it would not let me, and that is when I friendly Usairways agent reminded me of that. So I walked around for a bit, and bought a magazine and a drink. My flight was due to leave at 5pm, so a little after 1pm I went back to the same kiosk. It was acting funny so the same agent as before helped me out on another kiosk. I love those kiosk because even after your first time using them you still get 50 bonus miles.
So I hung out at Nashville International Airport for a while. There really was not a lot to do there except listen to a country music band, which was pretty good. So I sat down and had lunch, and then walked around and looked at the airplanes for a while.
After waiting for many hours it was finally time to board the 737-300. I had asked the gate agent if they needed to bump anyone, but they did not. The flight attendant was very nice as she welcomed me aboard. I really can't say anything else about the flight except the seats must have been comfortable because I slept the whole way from Nashville to Charlotte.

When I arrived in Charlotte I had never really truly realized just how big there airport was till that very day. The reason why was my connecting flight to Baltimore actually originated in Montego Bay, Jamaica. So I had to run all the way to the international section of the airport to catch my flight. I was turned down when I asked if they needed to bump anyone, but I was thanked for offering. When I boarded, I was surprised because the plane was an A-321. I had never been on one before. The plane looked very nice and new. It was in the typical grayish Usairways colors, but it smelled new. The flight attendants did not smile, but that was ok. I think they must have been very tired after a long day of flying. My seat was comfy, and I got another nice cup of orange juice, and to my shock.....pretzels ha ha ha. The flight was short, and the landing was smooth. When we got to Baltimore I was tired and hungry, and very happy that I got my bag in about 5 minutes.
All in all, I was very happy with Usairways. I will continue to fly with them, and I hope they turn around there business very quickly.

Thank you for the compliment LPL. Nashville International Airport is a medium sized airport. It is kind of like Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. There are 4 main areas where there are gates. Air Canada is the only international carrier. The only other thing that stood out for me was the fact that they usually have a country music band playing live in the airport. God bless.
