The morning flight From Dublin (DUB) to Charles de Gaulle Roissy (CDG) on the first Aer Lingus (EI) flight EI-520 07.10am April 16 1999 on the Boeing 737-500 EI-CDE (St Jarlath). The weather was very sunny at DUB when I went on board the flight. I was on the worst seat 19C, a non reclinable seat. The flight was nearly full. I was on the last row of seats with 2 of my friends because of my friend's slow driving. The plane was pushed back at 07.17 The plane headed into the runway at 07.20 10 minutes delay. As it was given the green light by the control tower. The lights were switched off. The 2 CFM 56's roared and we speeded off on full power. As it was about to lift off. I did a stunt, I un-clipped my seat belt and stand up. As the plane lifted off, I sat down again. Then the trolley came We had loads of food (3 slices of Smoked Irish Salmon, 1 roll, 1 salad with some chicken in it, tea, orange juice). Didn't expect the meal was so good in economy I then stole all the cutlery from my tray (metal ones) and stuffed them into my rucksack. Then I requested for a seat change, the jumpseat. The staff were very kind and helpful and asked the pilot about my seat change. Few minutes after that they let me into the cockpit and I sat on the jumpseat. The captain introduced himself, so did the F/O. The captain also introduced me to the controls and the gauges inside. As were 20 minutes away from CDG. The weather turned bad. The captain made a announcement (put the seatbelts on) because of the bad weather. As we were 5 minuted away, we hit turbulence. It felt like that the plane crashed into some solid object as we can't see whats in front of us. Then finally the plane did a rough landing and we were there. Only 30 minutes delay! I was very happy about the flight and I wish to thank all the crew on that flight!

ehhh......always nice to read about flying experiences but Aer Lingus has changed a lot in the past 4 years......pretty much every aspect of your report has changed.....no service....no friendliness...and no smiles.....and 520 is now operated by a 32S.
