I was on my way from Los Angeles to Croatia which for me is a very long process. I had flown from Los Angeles to split and connected with OU (Croatia Airlines).
Route:Fra-Spu(split)
Aircraft:A319-111/112
I was glad once again to fly the best small European Airline. I walk in the nice plane and said good day to the F/A at the door in Croatian. I saw the beautiful blue seats with beige squares. I sit down and get ready for the 1hr 30 min flight to Split to see my grand parents. I see all the Lh planes. We take off and I get my drink and enjoy the scenery well mostly cloudy. We are announced that we are going to start the decent in Croatian and English. Then, I see that we are getting close to split and we fly over the Island that I am going to. I wanted to get off there. We landed and are welcomed to Split Croatia in Croatian and English. I had an extremely nice flight. And, I look forward to my return in this airline in 3 weeks.
Route:Spu-Fra

I was very glad to be on this plane I have not had nice air conditioning in 3 long weeks. I sit down and this plane has the same interior as the other A319. There is a lot of leg room on this flight since this was economy. We see the funny safety briefing on the little TV screens. Then have all the lights turned off except the ones over the windows. Split airport is very close to high mountains so the planes take off like rockets and you are pinned to the seat during the take off. I am use to this I have done this flight many times and I really trust OU. The are really good airline to fly on. So we are served these nasty cold lunches. Everyone gets fried fish that is cold with hard cold bread. Other times these flights there is cold dry turkey with cold bread and cheese. However, their deserts are very tasty with consideration that they are airplane food. I sit kind of bored now waiting to get to FRA so I can go on LH452 to my home city of LAX. I read the magazine that they have on the plane. Now the city Frankfurt is visible and the flight attendants come running down the aisle with the duty free cart trying to sell last minute cigarettes. We land and start getting off the plane and I say good be to the FA's that did a wonderful job on this flight. I say everything to the Fa's in Croatian since I speak a little bit of the language.
Everyone Fly Croatian Airlines while in Europe.
Live long Croatia Airlines.

I've heard good things about Croatia Airlines. I want to fly with them in the future. I have relatives in Croatia so next time i go back i think i'll fly OU. They have a very modern fleet.

Dobro Don!
Great report! I really want to fly Croatia Airlines. I'm heading over to Croatia next month, but it's on UA/LH, so no OU. I really want to try them someday. My cousin flew them in 2001 London-Rijeka. They said is was VERY nice. What were you doing in Croatia!? I'm from the island of Cres. Do you know where that is? I'm there a lot, after high school, I plan to move back to Croatia, it's so nice.

Dobar Dan
Hey Continental how big is Rijeka airport? I was in Croatia in 1999 on holidays because my mother is Croatian and i have relatives over there. We stayed in Rijeka, Osijek and Zagreb. When i was in Rijeka i didn't notice the airport there,is it big? Also what equipment do they use to fly London-Rijeka? I'm guessing the ATR 42? I think the A319/A320 may be too big for Rijeka airport?

Dobar Dan (my mistake!)
Rijeka airport is a small airport that has an amazing approach. Right over the water, then right on the runway. The London-Rijeka route was an A320. That airport can easily handle A320s. Last time I was there, a Lithuanian 737-200 was approaching, it was awesome. It's a small airport, mainly GA, but it's nice.

Also it's not on the mainland, it's on the island of Krk, a ferryride distance from the city of Rijeka.

Hey Kevin752, great to hear you had good experiences with OU. I have flown with OU a few times, and they are a good airline. I fly with them evertime I go back to Croatia to visit my family.
