Check-in in the new checkin area 3 goes very quick and is super convenient for those arriving by train. For once, the lounge is not crowded, no wonder at this time of the day. The flight is leaving from bus gate A51, boarding takes place on time. Only 26 pax this morning - another loss making flight. We are leaving a little late, as we are waiting a few connecting pax. Takeoff from rwy 32 and after a 180 deg left turn we are over the city of Zurich. As it is a wonderful sunny morning, the view is marvelous, but it comes even better. Today we are flying at level 140 (!) which the captain has choosen intentionally. It is the lowest possible flying altitude over the alps. There is only a few 100m between the montains and us, beautiful. After a pre-takeoff OJ the "meal" is coffee, croissent and some other pastry. The 3 member crew is not busy and they come round 4 times with drinks. Landing in Milano is on time after 37 minutes flying time. Again we have a busgate. Perfect flight, perfect crew. Swiss - continue like this!
The flight leaves from the Schengen part of Milano-Malpensa, Gate A35 is a bus gate. The airport seems very busy. I am a bit disappointed about it, as I have expected a bit more from a new airport like this. Boarding is a bit delayed, later the captain will tell us that they had to change aircraft, for technical reasons. Finally pax are boarding, however nobody is here to load the luggage. Maybe due to the fact that the flight is full, I have the feeling that it is cramped. Newspaper are available at the entrance. Finally we are leaving, meal consists of drinks, a peace of ham, bread and cheese. Flight time is 1h05, it is smooth and the view over Marseille is very nice. We are making up a little bit of our delay.
Luckily Air Algerie is wainting for me. It takes quite a while to go through checkin and passport control. There is no way to speed it up. The good thing is, it gives my luggage time to find its way to the other plane as well. Air Algerie still has no assigned seats, so when I board the 737 there is not much left. The flight seems full and the plane, even quite new, does look a bit worn out. There is no newspaper, no boarding magazin, so finally I can read the papers I took in ZRH. We are leaving a bit late but that is as least partly because of me.
We are required to be about 2 hours prior to departure at the little airport of Constantine. This is due to strict security. Our luggage is checked several times. The last time when we board the aircraft infront of it at about 0730. At least we can leave on time. The seat number indicated on the boarding card has no significance. Everybody sits as he likes. So the emergency exit row is mine. The flight will be about 2/3 full. A little breakfast is served and the flight is uneventful.
There is plenty of time in the nice airport of Marseille as we arrived on time. Due to lack of business class lounge, drink vouchers are given. Boarding on time, aircraft clean. No leather seats, which has become quite common on European routes. The business class cabin has the same seat however the middle seat is converted into a table. Flight is ontime and uneventful. The highlight is the food, which is great. It consists of many of the nice French hors d'oeuvres delicacies. Flight arrives at the brandnew terminal 2F (?) of CdG airport. Very nice, however it takes quite a long time to reach the gate of corresponding flight to ZRH
The flight leaves from a busgate of terminal 2A, the bus stands quite a long time in the afternoon heat, which makes it quite unconfortable. When we finally board we get to know that the military is occupying some of the already limited airspace over central Europe and so we have to wait. Flight is then about half full, uneventful but with a very nice view over the city of Paris. During the flight we are avoiding some thunderstorms with circling around huge clouds. Food again is very good, the cabin as in the previous flight. Arrival in ZRH at dock B which is now called 2.

Wow ! You lucky guy !
I was due to go to Algeria this month (I had booked the boat trip and had secured accomodation there) but my girlfriend (Belgian of Algerian origin, btw) found a new job and we were forced to cancel our trip
We were going to stay in a house near Mostaganem and I was planning a trip in the Sahara (flying AH from ORN to TMR).
Next year maybe...
Can you give some more details about airports in Algeria and Air Algerie ?
