So here we are.. after 3 hours of sleep I finally have the stamina to write about an exicting day of spotting yesterday.
YUL-YYZ AC407 A321 C-GJVX Ship # 1726
Pascal and I meet up at the NW ticket coutner at around 830a, at this point I get my confirmed standby ticket and head to the AC counter. THe flight was supoosed to be a 767-300, but ALAS and just my luck for the 3rd time, they downgrade to an A321. Pascal and I head to security, wait in line for 10 minutes before hitting a machine.
We head over to the domestic concourse, and its a mess. The 900am flight to Toronto was a full B767, however they downgraded to a Tango A320. There was a huge line, I can imagine all those people that lost their First class seats. The Edmonton flight was pushing, it had 95 pax onboard. The YVR flight AC111 was delayed trying to accomodate oversales. I think there were denied boardings because there seemed to be some intense argument.
At 945am, general boarding call. Pascal and I head over to the A321, take our seats in row 13EF, one behind hte bulkhead/exit row. The A321 is tight seating. But when the recline kicks in, it becomes quite spacious. I was in the middle seat, I gave Pascal the window
We push, taxi out to runway 28. Pascal is following the whole flight with his scanner. We took-off rapidly and 55 minutes to YYZ... 137 pax out of 166 on the A321
We landed, and crosswinds were ALIVE. The whole descent was bumpy, choppy, not very violent or intense, just annoying. We landed runway 24L in YYZ, not a whole lot of traffic there except for some AC A320's, and an SSV A330 C-FBUS going to the West Indies... C-FBUS will now be in service for BWIA apparently.
CONCORDE..... amazing. We are on this parking garage with hundreds of other people watching this amazing plane. "BA 97 concorde cleared to land runway 23"....

The day is cold, we are on Top of Terminal1. We are all freezing, and I am tired because I only got 4 hours of sleep. I contemplate taking an earlier flight than the 1155p that I am booked on. The reason why is because I needed to be at work at 5am the next day

I got a seat on this flight that was oversold by 29. I did because apparently I had a full-fare ticket..... there was some kind of screw up in the AC res system, so they didnt hesitate to put me on this flight. MEanwhile Pascal had a "fun" fare... and all kinds of AC people giving him attitude about "NO STANDBY"... BS. I felt bad, but I really needed to get home to be alive for work.
So I get seat 26F.... and this plane is a FULL BOAT. We taxy out to runway 23, passing by CAthay pacific. We take off, turn over Lake Ontario, head to YUL. YUL arrival was amazing the standard 24R approach, but it was so beautiful to see the city at night again.. very stunning approaches at YUL. We landed 24R, taxied out to gate 3. Gate 3 is where we started the day, Gate 3 is where we ended it.
Spotting was amazing. It was so great to hangout with Shane (WJ04), BO (BO_Eing), Kris (VonRichtofen), Nuno (Captaingomes), Tony (AwSpicious), Jeremy (C-GRYK), Grant (Gmonney), Andy (Dripstick), Greg (Cessnapimp)..
I had a blast, I am grateful that Pascal made his way with me.. it would have been a little lonely without him. We definitely needed more Montreal representation..

Reading this makes me wanna go back to my homeland once again... The only time I was at YYZ I did not have much time to watch what was going on outside the terminal. Well I wanna try everything to get there next year.

I was on the 11:55 flight.

Since I didn't get on the earlier flight I spend 2 hours in Terminal 2. I killed the time by reading Airliners World and talking to a AC First Officier who was a passenger on my flight and has just came in from FCO.
Boarding started at 11:20. I had seat 30F and the 2 seat next to me was empty. We took off at 11:55 from 24R. This flight was a bit different than the mornight flight. We didn't get the safety video but the little FA show. Also we didn't get the daily news like we did that morning. I wanted to bright back the October issue of En Route but that flight still had the September issue. ( We had the new issue on our flight to YYZ but I didn't pick it up thinking I will get it on the way back.)
We landed at 12:40 on 06R with an Amazing 25 min ealier then scheduled. The FA told us to call the Guiness book. We taxied to gate 3.

Seems like a lot of confusion going on over at Air Canada. What's up with that?!
Anyway... Glad you guys enjoyed the day here in YYZ. I do think YUL was well represented despite there being only two of you.
