MUC-DUS-MUC on dba
On saturday 1st of november (bank holiday in austria, bavaria as well as in North-rhin-westfalia) I took my car from INN to MUC airport,
and I didn't follow my navigation system, because it wants to show me the way to INN airport and not MUC until I changed the destination on the high of Kufstein (to somewhere munich city, because this fucking thing finds the mini-airport INN but not MUC Franz-Joseph-Strauss *grrrrrrrrrr*.
I was more then only early because I estimated traffic jam (was, but I leave the autoroute before and used streets nearby ....) and I wasn't sure where the cheap parking lots for holidays are and in which frequent the shuttle bus come (every 20 minute that's not that much - I know today).
Meanwhile dba is in Terminal 1 - A on munich airport, check-in was quick I have gotten seat number 22A - I asked for last row but the last row is blocked for children and believe me that had 4 or five unattendant children on this flight and it was very well booked (due to high load only one piece of hand luggage !). I checked in my trolley as well, because I had a bigger-purse and a small sack with me and this would be too much for most carriers and of course to much for an (half-) LCC.
DI 7092 01NOV 13:30 seat 22A
boarding was done by 13:15 but pushback was nearly on time and we landed more than early in DUS (21 minutes early to be correct) !
flight was a little bit cloudy and bumpy but I love it ! http://62.141.61.176/juttaedith/dus_1103/KIF_0809.JPG
after spending a few days in DUS, Neuss, Zons, Luxembourg City http://62.141.61.176/juttaedith/dus_1103
and visiting my old working place at MGI today I had my flight back
DI 7089 05NOV 11:40 boarding time 11:10 (boarding was done by 11:20 or 11:25 but push back was exactly on 11:38) http://62.141.61.176/juttaedith/dus_1103/dba.jpg
gate B53 (instead of B55) seat 16A lightweight booked but far away from being empty.
I had a Tomatoe-Mozarella sandwich and the offered me to make it hot *wow* and the usual coffee
Landing was 10 minutes early and we had gotten our baggage quick (not so quick like in DUS because there I saw my luggage coming out before I reached the baggage belt *wow*)
Resumée: die bessere Alternative to some of well known german carriers they are for sure (booking was done 3 days in advance and I payed 150 EUR incl.)
and afterwards I had to wait 20 min. for the shuttle bus then a two hour ride home (terrible- so many freighter between Rosenheim and Kufstein and they often blocked the left side ...) but luckily found a parking lot in front of my house *uffz*.

Hi Jutta, thanks for this report, by the way did you notice that you were flying in a freshly-painted aircraft? There's no "deutsche ba" titles any more on the tail, could it be that you were flying on D-ADIC?

Hi Jutta,
I´m lucky that you take your time to write this report,
especially after your comment to TRISTAR500´s IB report.
I enjoyed reading and it´s always interesting to hear about experiences on airlines I flown with.
And if Niki Lauda´s dreams comes true, maybe there´s an real austrian LCC in the future and you dont need to go the long way to MUC.
Regards,Markus (FLIEGER67)

Alex,
could be or not, I took a pic from the plane for TXL because this should be our gate (was changed with short notice) and from our's and both where freshly painted aircraft with no deutsche ba on the tail, and when I put the pic's onto my PC I could no longer decide which one was ours and which one was the plane for TXL.
Yeah and I heard about Niki, on the radio but wait and see first if he flies LCC and not charter and if he comes to INN (HLX from KLU seems to work well, so meanwhile only in INN an LCC is missing - ok LNZ I don't know but GRZ and SZG has Ryanair and KLU HLX and VIE has a lot of them ....)
ContactAir - that's a bad thing for me that DI is flying NCE from STR because since FU left MUC, LH increased there NCE fares to heaven (ok monopoly route) so no more NCE flights for me

Hi Jutta,
It is good to see that you took your time to write the report after all! So what do you think about DI's new service concept and about their new image as the "affordable business airline"? I am still sceptical that it was such a good idea to offer two classes of service on a low cost carrier. How was the "business class" booked on your flights?

TriStar500,
dba is good for business purposals, they offer high frequency to Business destinations and they are ON TIME and they allow a lot of luggage (for all flights 32 kilos checked in)
you cannot see who helds a business class tkt and who a "normal" one, so I cannot give you an answer
their business class isn't the same like business class on "normal" airline, it's a full flexible tkt valid for one year with a voucher for food (and if there is no high load with two pieces of carry on) that was it, and it's plane fare

Hello Jutta,
what a coincidence, I was also at MUC on 11/01 and I saw your aircraft from the "Besucherhügel".
I hope that dba chose the right business concept so that they can escape their financial difficulties soon.

Hi Daniel (9V-SPF),
oh, too bad that I didn't know that a a.net'ter is on MUC airport, I had some time to kill and together it's more funny (I killed it with "The Firm")
For all - I'm in Paris from 11th due to 21st of Nov.
flying
KL 2872 INN-AMS
KL 1237 AMS-CDG on 11/11
and
KL 1238 CDG-AMS
KL 2869 AMS-INN via LNZ on 11/21
and there is a weekend in Paris (CDG or ORY for spotting or a LCC trip out of ORY - I am currently thinking about) - where I've a lot of spare time .....
Jumbolino.
PS: ideas for spotting are highly welcome ....THX !
PPS: Daniel - you took a pic of the aircraft I was in ?! If yes, pls email me, I've only one rare pic of an aircraft I am flying (F-GPYL Oct 2000) with
ok the next airline I wish good bye .... what a curious unnecessary routing because A6 wants to have over 500 EUR without foot and on ECO for this short, short hop ?!
Jumbolino.
PS: I know that's deeply off-topic but I want to let ANYBODY know ..... because I'm upset .... and as I have a tkt which says only AMS-INN there is also no way for duty free shopping .... which might be an advantage ...
