Last week I applied to the art institute in Las Vegas (Henderson NV) and I had to make a last minute trip with my mom to Las Vegas to go and do an interview. As me and my mom compared the prices to fly to LAS from LAX we found America west had the best fares for our same day return tickets.
Gate Departed: 9
Gate Arrived: B14
Depart time: 7:59 am
Arrive Time: 8:51 am
My dad dropped me and my mom off a 6:40am at the airport and then me and my mom went to the quick check in machine and the machine asked us if we wanted an first class upgrade for 100.00 each ticket. We did not take it since we paid so much for the ticket already. We got to the gate about 30 minutes prior to boarding since the security lines at LAX were not bad at all. The boarding call was made and me and my mom waited until our group was called. As I entered the best 737 built a very nice middle aged woman flight attendant welcomed me aboard and I said " good morning". I walked down the aisle to find my seat. The 737 looked very nice inside. I sat down and the seat was very comfortable. I watched all the people board the plane while I waited to take off. The flight attendant made the welcome announcements and then went on to having the safety briefing since the 737's have no IFE. As they finished the plane pushed back and was waiting to take off. As we took off the plane went over the pacific ocean and I was looking at the city below. The flight was uneventful. The express drink service was made and I just had some water. After that the plane started to descend in to LAS. As we made our final approach the plane slowed really fast. I have been on many 737-300's and I have never felt this way when on a plane. The flaps were all the way out really early and the spoilers were up a bit. Before we landed I was slipping out the seat due to the huge speed reduction. We landed and the plane made a really hard stop. I think the flight crew in the front were having a bit too much fun with the power of a 737-300. We arrived 10 minutes early in to LAS. America West was great and I will never hesitate to fly with them again.
Airline: America West
Gate Arrived :9
Depart Time:6:22 PM
Arrive Time :7:28 PM
Aircraft Type: A319...
I was sad to leave LAS but wanted to go home. I waited at the airport for awhile since there was not long lines for security. Me and my mom check in using the Speed Check machine to get our boarding pass. We looked around at the stores and found nothing to buy. So we waited for the plane to come to gate B2. When it came we waited to be called and got in. As I came in another very nice middle aged flight attendant was waiting by the front of the plane in the small galley. I walked down the aisle to my seat and sat down. The A319 with HP are very nice looking inside. They were again very new and clean inside. Once everyone was on the plane and seated the flight attendant did the welcome announcements and then the safety video on the screens. At the end of that the plane was ready for final take off. The flight attendant came to make sure we had our seat belts fastened. The A319 was off the ground really fast. The plane took less time than the 737 to get off the ground and it was really quiet. The 737 was louder and did not take off as fast. We took off and that part of the flight was bumpy for a few minutes. We got our drinks and I looked out the window but did not see much since it was night. We got closer to LAX and the plane landed which was a bit better than the 737 landing and approach. The airbus slowed much quieter and smother than the 737 and then we came to the gate. I again really enjoyed my flight with America west and I will hopefully fly on them on their LAX-BOS or LAX-JFK soon. Hope everyone enjoys my report.

A report well done.
Back in 10/25/03 we flew HP on JFK-LAS-LAX. The First Class cabin was full on the JFK-LAS run so I upgraded on the LAS-LAX flight for 50 dollars while my dad vouched for staying in the Economy cabin. Turned out the ticket agent had problems with the computer so she gave us two free upgrades.
