Seat- 17 A. Flight 641 6:30 p.m.

My mom my dad and I arrived at terminal 4 at 4:00 for are KLM flight to ams. We walked into the beautiful terminal 4 and walked over to the check in counter. The line was very short whitch was nice and un-common for me on a international flight. When we got to the ticket counter are agent told us that the flight was way over booked. The plane could hold 292 people but was booked for 373! They asked us if we wanted to put on the latter flight (whitch was on a 747-300) we would get $300 and volutres for any partner airline. We said we would only do it if we got buesiness seats. So they said they would call apon us if needed. We went down the stairs to the duty free where we did a little spotting but due to the fact that it was so foggy we rly only saw are plane taxi in. Around 5 we began to make are way to are concourse. We got threw security and walked to are gate. There was no place to sit so we had to stand. The fog had gone away but was begging to come back. When the time came around 6:30 the plane wasnt even near ready to board. The gate agents told us that the plane had landed late due to the weather and that becuase of the fog they where taking things very slow. The loud speaker was very low so we coudnt rly hear anything. There was a Air India flight across the hall whitch began boarding and every one got confused on are flight. They thought are plane was ready to board so every one pilled to the door but the plane still wasnt ready. They finally started the pree boarding at 7:00. Are row was finally called so we went to join the long line. When we got inside the plane we found are seats and sat down. The leg room wasnt great but seat pitch was wonderful! The seats almost went all the way back. Are flight was finally ready to go. The fog was horrible so we couldnt see a thing. We taxied and took off behind a plane of course but the plane was not visable for my viewing. We took off and about 20 minutes into the flight they turned on the great IFE. I watched 7 movies within the whole flight. I soon found out that the seat pitch may have been relaxing but when the person in front of you does it is feels like MURDER! my PTV was barley touching my face! very un-commfprtable. They served dinner whitch was chinesse stile chiken with rice. I feel asleep while i was watching American weading and two miutes latter they blasted the lights back on! horrible! But as i found out that we where near landing. They served a little breakfest pack. By the time we started are desend the sun rise was begging to happen. When we got down further we saw more fog! we landed in total shock becuase we hadnt even seen the ground. We started to taxi after langing. I saw my first ever NWA A330 great birds! We got to are gate and it startred to snow! We waited in the plane for awhile and then the captin came over the speaker and told us that no one had been at the gate to connect the gangway to the plane. Finally we depaerted the plane. We had a four hour layover till are flight to MAD so we decided to go shopping. After we where done we went to the viewing deck. From up there it was freezing so we only stayed up there for a few minutes and managed to spot A Belgium excel 767 and the BMI A319. We got to are 737-800 gate around the time for boaording. As we walked down the gang way i spotted the UAL 767 star alliance plane and the UAL 777 new colors. When we got inside the plane i was very surprised to see that the seats where almost a like to the 777 seats. The minute i sat down i feel asleep. When i woke up we where landing at MAD. From the winddow i saw the AR 747-400 and my second IB 340-600. We came in very high but made it safley. We taxied out the apron where we parked next to the AR 747-400.(very exiting) around us where the fleet of Air Europas 767s. We got off the plane and took are bus whitch went right under the IB 346.

I am still in Madrid and i am going back to JFK on sunday the 14th. I am doing a lot of spotting at MAD.

i will add some more to this post when i get back home.

Cheers from warm/cold spain!

When writing your return trip report, please proofread, ok? It gets hard to read with that many errors. Use spellcheck. Other than that, ok report.

I flew KLM this past January for the first time, EWR-AMS-DEL.. I found that the legroom on the 767 was horrendous but the MD-11 was actually kind of spacious...

"ity of lima"

I woke up at 4:00 A.M. My mom had not been able to sleep from 12:00-4:00 because there where helicopters zooming over are hotel all night. We got a cab and arrived at the airport at around 4:30. We got inside the terminal, and of course it was totally empty, so all we had to do is to look where all the people are to see where the KLM check in desk was. We got to the check in desk and the next check in desk was Alitalia. I notcied they have a picture of a B767-400ER for there wall picture. The photo looks pretty real. The plane is crossing the Atlantic ocean. Any info on that would be aprectated. Any way we checked in and then passed security. We got to the gate and about 15 minutes latter they began to board. We went down a flight of staris after passing the gate agent. We got into a IB bus. We drove out to are plane. This time are plane was surroned by different aircraft. There was no Air Europa 767s like there where last time. Instead there was a Royal Jordain A310, Air Europa 737s, and a Syrian A320. We got on the plane and located are seat. Are row was the only row in the plane without a window. The plane was not a full flight so we asked the FA if we could sit at the exit row. He said sure that it was no problem. The leg room was fantastic! the only problem was is that becuase there was a door there it was freezing. We arrived at AMS at around 8:12. We taxied and saw one of the Holland Exel planes parked next to some KLM aircraft. There was also a DL 777, DL767, and a UAL 777(Not New colors:-( ) We deplaned. We had found out that in our 777 we had gotten seated in the middle. I get very sick when i sit in the middle. We went to one of the tranfer desks. We got changed to row 42 seats GHJ ( they skip I). We had a four hour lay over so we went to wings of the world. Then we went and had burger king. We went to the viewing deck and spotted for a while. From up there we saw a bunch on KLM MD-11s, KLM 767s, NWA A330, KLM 747s, Holland Excel 767s, and a Iran Air A300. We watched a KLM 777 taxi from the matnience hanger and watched it come into the gate that we had arrived in. The plane was the same plane that we where on the way there. PH-BQD. On taxiing i noticed to KLM 777s at the KLM hangar. One of them was PH-BQD and the other one was the newest 777. We got to are gate F8. Are flight had been delyaed 2 hours. At the time there was a KLM 777 at the gate. PH-BQC. At that time i coudnt really understand why are flight was delyed two hours if the plane was there and being loaded with baggage and food. My dad and I looked around for a place to spot. We found a empty gate not to far from are gate. There was a KLM 747-400 parked infront of us ready to leave. They had been changeing a tire. After everything had been moved away the tow driver ran up the stairs to the gang way. Two minutes latter the police, ambulence, and opperation manager came over. We had to go back to the gate to check on my mom. When we got back the cars had left and the plane had been puched back. My dad and I continued looking for spottin and notice at Gate F5 it said flight 641 AMS-JFK. 16:15. Which was are flight. About two minutes latter they anouenced are gate change. There was a 747-400 at the gate. About a 45 minutes latter we began boarding. We where sent up the upper gang way. Are seats had been changed to 45 ABC. The plane had the new interior. We left the gate and took off. The captin anounced that the 777 we where sopposed to be on origanly was sopposed to be on had engine falure. So they had to wait for this plane to come in from Tokyo. They served a Indian chiken and played some comedeys. They came around with Asian style Ice Cream. And showed Somthings Got to Give. After that i feel asleep when i woke up we where decending above Boston. From the plane i saw another plane in the distance landing at Logan. We landed at JFK. We taxied to T4 We taxied in and parked next to a Aer Lingus A330. EH-DUB. I notcied that the Varig flight was opperated by the Varig star Alliance MD-11. First visit to JFK. When we got out of the terminal i noticed the UAL 767 Star alliance plane at T7. Amzing i saw it on March 6 and now on March 14. As we left the airport i noticed the Austrin A330 star alliance plane!.

In all my first experiance with KLM was wonderful! service was great!

***** five stars for KLM

AlitaliaMD11....Excellent trip report. However, I have a hard time reading them because your spelling and grammar need some work. I don't know whether you are a native English speaker. If you aren't I understand, but you should at a minimum use the "Spell Check" feature before posting.

I look forward to reading more of your reports.

AlitaliaMD11,
I have to second the opinion of others about the lang. If English is not your native language, find a better ESL teacher.  Smile If Eng. is your first language, which I think it is because you are making the same mistakes that more native speakers make these days, then you are a perfect example of our beloved public school system.

I am not even sure if the spell checker will catch some of the mistakes you made. "Their are" should be "there are".. "we got threw the security"?? wow..

Otherwise, I truly enjoyed your TR.

Talking about your spelling from a year ago, wrought?
You have gotten better but not there yet.
But I'll give you two tips that works for us non-native speakers. When you write an English word and you misspell it you will almost always get a "funny feeling" It you get that, go check the dictionary.

The other one is to read. Read everything! books, magazines, newspapers etc. That's the best way to improve your grammar and spelling.

Also, do not be embarrased some native speakers also have terrible spelling and grammar.
