Does anyone care to share their experience on an Air Transat flight across the pond, particularly on their A330? I'm planning a trip later this year with my Dad from YYZ to ATH and their prices are significantly cheaper than BA, Olympic or via Star Alliance...even with the Club Class upgrade (which would be the only way I would fly TS again after experiencing their terribly cramped seating onboard an L-1011 to Mexico last year).

I flew on a A330 from Glasgow-Calgary-Glasgow last September. My flight out was 5 hours delayed, but as the flight wasn't full, it did feel a bit roomier than I had expected. The configuration was 3-3-3 if I remember rightly. The service was OK, but I thought the food ( I can't remember what it was) was tasteless. The flight back was completely full. I don't know the width of the seats but it dead feel very restricted. I was beside a little old lady who wasn't taking up much room. I would hate to have been beside a bigger person. I was also near the toilets and there seemed to be a steady queue all night long, which was a bit irritating. Sorry I don't have much more details but I hadn't planned on using this trip as a flight report.
All that said, they are one of the cheapest and direct ways of crossing the Atlantic and for my sins will be flying EDI-YYZ next month. I guess it is down to personal preference, know you will have a cramped flight but get a cheap deal or travel more comfortably for quite a bit more money. As a travel addict, I usually go for the cheaper options so that I can make more trips
