Well, I usually fly TW / KDTW), USA - Michigan">DTW-LGA-TW / KDTW), USA - Michigan">DTW, but this time, I figured I would save my cousin the 35 min. drive to LGA and just pick me up at HPN which is only 12 mins. from her house. Also, I wanted to get in my last few F100 flights before they are retired.

Overall: B+

This trip was to be a main-cabin only trip, so even though I could of worn jeans, I opted to dress up a bit just in case I changed my mind last minute. Obtained my aisle-seat and chatted with former coworkers a bit- all signals indicate an on-time, no ATC in ORD, departure. However, as soon as I stepped on the plane (one of the last to board since I was busy yapping with people), the captain came on and said ORD has issued a flow-control, our take-off slot was at 1:30 (was a 12:39 departure). O.K., no-big deal for me at least. Well, we sat at the gate and absorbed most of the delay there (the F/A's offered orange or apple juice first round, then came around againt with iced water), then taxied out but ORD pushed our take-off slot to 2:03 p.m., so again, I was like, may miss my ORD-HPN connection- I can just go to LGA instead. The people behind me were being so immature because they the crew didn't know whether or not the connections were delayed (they are no provided with that information- and during the flight they were saying things about how an F/A doesn't need any skills, etc.). -They made snotty little comments about "AA". We had wheels-up at 2:03 p.m. (at least by my watch). Smooth flight into ORD. (Oh, and I thought the crew was just fine.)

I did miss my original ORD-HPN, I arrived about 2 p.m. into ORD; the agents automatically rolled me over to the next flight that was scheduled to depart at 5:30'ish. Picked up some lunch and waited at the gate, changed gates, then just waited, talked most of the time on the phone. Due to all the air-traffic delays, this flight was pushed back to about 6:45 p.m.- so my total time in ORD was about four hours, I opted to stay with HPN instead of rerouting to LGA. Boarded and taixed out, waited about another 30 mins. for take-off as the wind directions changed and all the planes changed runways.
The crew were very nice and we made it into HPN at about 10:20 p.m. As we taxied off the runway, another AA flight landed, on-time. (The last and final AA flight was delayed to almost 1 a.m.).

Since I arrived so late into HPN, I did not make it out to the city to hit up some of the clubs, I was very exhausted. The trip itself took about 12 hours from check-in at TW / KDTW), USA - Michigan">DTW to baggage claim at HPN.

Overall: A-

Arrived at HPN about an hour and 45 mins. before departure; checked-in, and got my aisle seat in the exit row at the ticket counter rather than waiting at the gate. Observed the flights at HPN (a lot of CO Connection flights!) and waited to board my flight. Took off 10 mins. before scheduled departure and it was a bit rough due to gusty winds. The flight crew were very attentive and got up to about 35,000 for a smooth flight over the finger lakes, across to north of Detroit, swing around Grand Rapids and finally into ORD. A bit rough on the ORD approach due to gusty winds. Arrived about 15 minutes prior to scheduled time. This would be (I'm guessing) my last F100 flight; this particular aircraft had updated bins, flooring, and F/C cabin.

EQUIP: S80 (former TW)

Overall: A-

Continuing the refurbished theme, this was a former TWA plane with an updated interior (but not exactly matching the other S80s). The F/A explained that the plane lacked closet space since it was "not an AA aircraft, as it was inherited from bankrupt TWA." This was a full flight, maybe only about 10 open seats. I luckly managed to get another aisle in the front - it's like the agents read my mind. Departed/Arrived on-time. The crew were very friendly with lots of smiles and playful with the children seated in front of me.

Great report -- adventures in non-reving considering AA doesn't publish fares between DTW/HPN! How long were you in the HPN-area (it sounds like just a few hours since you indicated you couldn't go out LOL).

Those obnoxious FA say this all the time about ex-TW equipment. I wish they'd be more respectful......

My original plan was to get into HPN around 4:25 p.m., catch up with family, then drive out to NYC to meet my other cousin/friends. But that didn't happen. Plus, VSLover and I had planned to meet up also.

...Except for Saturday night (went out to NYC), most of my trip I stayed in the HPN area. Next month, I'm planning on going again, but it will be TW / KDTW), USA - Michigan">DTW-LGA.  Smile
