Well to keep it short I provide you a lot of pic's I have taken during this short trip yesterday, from leaving my home town until tochdown in Zurich.
Well it wasn't the inauguration flight but the second after and so the price for the return trip was more than promotional - whopping 78 EUR inkl. taxes and inclusive food !!!!!! (except for alcohol you have to pay, but non alcoholic drinks as well as tea, coffee and of course FOOD are free ....)
Unfortunatly a lot of the pic's are taken from behind the windows and it seems that they (Airport vienna as well as Niki) don't clean them too often
nice advertisment on my way to the bus
after arrival I checked in for the NIKI flight in the OS sector - checkin is done by Austrian and received this
afterwards I decided that it's time for a lunch as well as for some pic's (from the restaurant you have a good view)
this pic is even worse but it's an unknown bird - or better first time I saw a VBird
quite busy Vienna international yesterday
also a worse pic but maybe the last change to take one
after this a couple from japan liked to take a pic from me - I'm quite sure they thought how crazy europeans are

and while the bus carried us around I could clearly see our plane
*uffz* the busdriver let us go outside !
next to us an austrian error is waiting for pax which doesn't like food
others even a Jumbolino around (after decollage I saw also an SN BA avro waiting for BRU
that's an Lauda plane which isn't Lauda any more

nice sandwich Niki provided for his pax
salami (dead donkey) or chicken - but nothing for people which say "don't eat dead animal's" ok the mousse au chocolate afterwards would be something (and short before touch down the steward came twice and third with mousse ...)
(two euros for the beer, everything else was FREE of charge)

remembered me to the year 2000 and Air Littoral where we frequently used this route short time before touchdown in ZRH

wow, what a large number of pics! My slow computer took hours to display all of them! Great work, thanks for posting it!
By the way: how was load factor on your flight? Was it full or were there many empty seats? Do you know how many times a day Niki flies between VIE and ZRH?
I personally wonder if it makes sense to go into competition with OS, SR and Helvetic on this short route, but I might be wrong of course...

due to the facts that it was the first day Niki was flying this route, the load factor wasn´t that bad, approx 50 - 60% and I estimate that will be better soon,as there might be a lot of people which don´t know that he starts flying on business routes as well as some leisure destinations, and if Icompare the package the others provide on this route, Niki might be very successful there
Btw. I have forgotten to mention he provided also newspaper service *wow*
(only two local daily newspapers and one weekly local newspaper but .....)

PS: sonce I have now ADSL in Spreitenbach and xDSL in Vienna I tend to forget that others might have slower connections *sorry* but I won´t make stamps from my pic´s because some of them are rather good

is the aircraft ex aero llyod? why they have a registration number starts with 'D'? Is Niki a german airline or an austrian airline?
Thanks for sharing your nice pictures, Contactair, you should get better internet connections, isnt internet system very well developed in Germany? LOL!!!

Yes, the aircraft is ex-Aero Loyd and the male steward weared still the Aero Loyd uniform, I think therefore Niki still let the german reg be. The airline Niki is an austrian one, and works close together with Air Berlin

yeah, the A321 on the return flight ZRH-VIE yesterday had indeed an OE reg
but as the flight was nearly the same than VIE-ZRH except - no inflight entertainment and a sandwich box with ham and eggs and an apple joghurt as deli - I won't post a trip rep

Making a photo documentary of what would have otherwise been just an ordinary short haul flight was a wonderful idea! I really enjoyed watching our pictures, which have grabbed the mood of the situation very well. Hopefully, you'll take your digital camera with you on your next trip, I can't wait to see the results!

(and posted it this way - ok with a bit more text and smaller pic's because I received my xDSL connection three weeks ago - well invested money

but I was never lucky enough before to include the pic's in airliners.net than this time (well it's the first with such a mess of pic's .... and from the beginning due to the end of the trip ....)

12 pic's but smaller sized because of the modem acess I had back in november
but yeah you're right nowhere is the mood that good visible like on the Niki trip
