My trip started on Thursday May 27th in crowded LAX. Security was long as usual, but I got through ok. My flight on an AA 737-800 was delayed about 15 min which is not too bad. On taxi I saw a World Airways MD-11 on it's backside because it had been loaded wrong I guess. That was a first for me. Takeoff was smooth and the flight was uneventful. The meal was not great; I had pasta, but it was edible to say the least. Our landing in BOS was smooth as well and we made up most of the time we lost at LAX. The captain and first officer were very nice, and I talked to them for a few minutes. I got the flight plan as well.
Boston is an awesome city! I went to see my sister graduate from Brown University which is in Providence, RI. The trip was great. I can't wait to go again.
Our flight back was also on a 737-800. I noticed the at BOS Runways 4L/22R and 15L/33R are closed for repair. Does someone know exactly what they are doing? The flight home was pretty good, we saw some interesting sites like the great lakes and Hoover Dam in Las Vegas. Our landing in LAX was not so smooth. It wasn't bad, but it felt like a gust of wind got us right at touchdown. I also got the flight plan from that flight. The captain and F/O talked to me for a few minutes and were very nice. We had a female F/O and it was interesting to talk to her.
Overall I like AA very much. MRTC is awesome for a guy my size. At 6'7" most seats make me very uncomfortable, but on the 737-800 I was fine for 5 hours. I have flown on almost all AA a/c and the 757 was by far the most cramped for me. It was on a redeye to BOS from LAS and I thought I was going insane! I had a great experience on AA and would fly them in a second.
