This is my second trip report following the KUWAIT-CAIRO ON EYGPT AIR trip report so I hope you would enjoy it.
CAIRO INT AIRPORT
It was a chaos a big number of flight arrived nearly at the same time so the airport was in a very bad shape, people shouting at each other ! Baggage getting lost, flight delayed and it was just a dieasater. ( But I hope the NEW Cairo Terminal would be able to handle all this pressure). I was waiting for my night flight to Sharm-el-sheik airport were I was going to spend my summer.
Our flight seemed to be late we were waiting in the lounge and there was no terminal T.v's to inform us when to expect our flight to be boarded, instead an old man would come in a very now and then and shout out the latest updates concerning our flight. It was getting a bit late so I had to get a sleep in the airport on my chair !
Finally our airplane arrived, it was a Egypt air A321 with no Egypt Air Sign on the tail. There were no jetbridges so we had to board this nice A321 via staircases, so we did. The inside of the airplane was good not worn out but a bit small and comftable ( that's what you would expect from all A320/21/19/18 ) But it would do good for this only 45 mins flight !
After boarding I sat in my seat which was a window seat, buckled up and made my self comfy. The captain came up on the PA and announced our flight information in English and than Arabic. He also cleared that we wee going to be crusing on FL330, which seemed weird as it was just a 45 min hop. But what the heck ! So we began taxing to our runway which took for ever, I like taking-off at night because of all the light on the runways and cities.
At last we reached our runway and stopped awaiting clearace for take-off, we final beganto roll and with the engines being spooled up the roaring became louder and louder, and with a very short run we were lifted above the runway in a very steep climb ( no much passengers ) the scenery out side was great, all the lights and buildings, just great. The engines began to calm down as we were approaching our cursing altitude of FL330, which we reached quite quickly, in less then 15 mins I think.
We began to do some turns to direct us straight to Sharm-el-sheik, what was wired and a bit creepy was that the airplane had some squeaking sounds when the airplane banked. ( but that wouldn't spoil my flight ) We flew over Egypt and the Red Sea and were soon near our landing airport.
At a high rate of descent my ears began to hurt, but it was great, so we were doing our last vectors to line us up with the runway. A very nice view as we approached the airport, with lots of lights down there near the sea side. We finally touched down and the ,thrust reverse did all the roaring and spoiler where deployed to slow us down, finally we taxied out of the runway, to the standing ramp, which we reached quickly.
Quite frankly it was nothing like I expected, it was like a bus station ( I think the new airport is much more pleasant ) Our plane passengers were the only ones in the airport, which seemed to be operation with out passenger facilities. I got into a taxi and went to my resort and that was the end of it.
the sky is the limit.............actually FL410 is the limit

went to Sharm in May and took a day trip to Cairo on Eqyptair.
outbound flight was on A320 and return was on a 735 (no tail markings
Both flights were packed and have to say i was quite impressed with
Eqyptairs product- decent seat pitch and got light snack. Domestic terminal in Cairo was very basic and run-down though.
