Departure Time 16:10
Actual Departure time 16:00

An early departure for a change! Got to the airport pretty early for the flight back to Mankychester  Big grin For those of you who know TFS, you know that once you've checked in you have to go straight through to departures, so we done this. And a pleasant surprise came when I found out that they now have an air conditioned viewing area which you can can see over the entire apron (some of which was closed due to ongoing maintenance) ansd the length of the runway, so I sat there for an hour or so waiting for my flight back to Mankychester.
A/c that I seen were a Monarch A330 G-EOMA from Mankychester, a few FCA 757s from MAN,LGW and BHX, an A321 from BRS, an XLA 757 from MAN, a load of Tommy Cook 757s, a Hapag Lloyd 737 from MUC, IB 757 from MAD amongst other things.
Our 757-300 arrived early from MAN so we were boarding pretty quickly. The Pilot flying (one of the Germans at TCX) advised us that it was a full load for the flight today and that the weather in MAN was crap.
One thing I noticed when I was waiting in the departure lounge though was that the 320 and 321s that were departing were taking much longer to takeoff than the 737s, 757s and MD80s that I seen departing, with the 757s obviously climbing much steeper than any other a/c (the 321s especially looked like they only just made it into the air  Wow! ).

Departure today was off runway 8, I was in seat 32F so got a good view of Gran Canaria as we climbed up to our crusing altitude of 34,000ft. The film on todays flight was The Day After Tomorrow. Had a couple of beers whilst watching that and the food was Beef and Ale Casserole, which I thought was quite tasty...except for the frigging dumpling!  Angry

Anyway, as the flight went on, unfortunatly the FA's today were not all female so I had no one to ogle at, as the women FAs were all old unlike the flight out to TFS.
The flight took us from TFS north to Oporto, Santiago De Compostela, Bay of Biscay, LOndon and then into Manchester, where landign took place on runway 24R
The descent into MAN was fairly bumpy due to the bad weather, and the landing extremly hard  Big thumbs up which seemed to scare quite a few of the older passengers  Big grin

We deboarded at Gate 31 and as I walked to the baggage reclaim area, got a closeup view of the evening EK A332 where the passengers had started to board. Seemed to be quite a full flight.

Flight time was 4 hrs 4 mins.
If you have any q's please ask.

How did it feel then, when you arrived in England after bieng in Tenerife?  Big grin

Also, what was check-in like at TFS? I flew TFS-LGW on BA a couple of years ago and check-in was a zoo! So was the departure lounge and it's tiny McDo / Pizza Hut / Bar combo - it felt like there were a million people at the airport!

Jasepl, was mostly British tourists checking in so didnt have to put up with any of those dodgy Germans saying Der this and Das that  Laugh out loud

Was ok compared to what it was normally like though. TCX check in all their flights at the same desks so had some people behind us in the queue going to Londres Gatweek  Wink/being sarcastic
