Saudi Arabian Airlines flight 056
MCO-JFK
747-400 HZ-AIV
8.25.00
I finally got to fly on my favorite aircraft! I was non-revving so this
experience didn’t cost me a dime! The awesome managers at Saudi-MCO put me in
a window seat in business class, which meant the upper deck, seat 16A!
Boarding started at 3:50pm. I went right on. Drinks were served before take
off (non alcoholic, I don’t believe Saudi serves liquor)
Take off was great. The 744 is so quiet. This is a plane that lives up to
its reputation! Grace and power at the same time. Even thought this was only
a 2 hour flight, it was a full meal service. The choice was seafood pasta or
chicken and rice. It was served with a salad, roll and slice of cheesecake.
They also offered tea and coffee after the meal.
My seat featured an adjustable footrest, seat back, and it also reclined pretty far back. Each featured a personal TV with a remote. You could choose from 5 movies, with full VCR control (pause, FF, RW ect...) Also some games, which is probably the Saudi Arabian equalivant to Nintendo. Overhead bins were small, but they had another set of bins along side the window seats.
I got a tour of the plane from on of the deadheading pilots. I visited the cockpit during flight, which was a 1st for me. It just further convinced me that the 744 is one of the finest planes out there. First class is like a movie theater. Seats larger than business class, and a movies screen in front, in addition to the television seats. I visited coach, the seats are comfortable, and they have a personal TV too in the back of the seat in front of you, like jetBlue. Towards the back, some seats were taken out for a prayer room. The crew and the FA's were very friendly, which I really appreciated.
Well, my all-too-short flight on Saudi Arabian was a dream come true, and has probably ruined me for all other airlines (I cant imagine going on Southwest after this

What airport has MCO as it's code? Well, I've never flown Saudi Arabian Airlines, but I'd like to sometime. When I grow up, I hope to have a job in Saudi Arabia and be able to fly that airline.

The airport that has MCO as its code is Orlando, FL. You would probably like to know why MCO instead of ORL. Well, Orlando has two airports, the originally called Municipal or Orlando Executive Airport three-letter code:ORL; and Orlando International Airport: MCO.
Orlando International Airport was an Air Force Base that started life in 1941, and its name was: Col McCoy Air Force Base; so after the authority launched plans to develope Orlando Int. they retained the three-letter code MCO in memory of Col McCoy.

What a very nice thing! I wish I could fly on Saudi Arabian. They are a very good airline. One of my moms friends flew them and gave me a neat little amenity kit. Nice Airline!
