My 3rd trip report
Segment 1:

CSA Czech Airlines flight OK 892
Scheduled Departure: 9:10am
Actual Departure: 9:18am
Scheduled Arrival: 1:50pm
Actual Arrival: 2:03pm
Seat: 17A
Eqipment: 737-400
Class: Coach
Total Price: around 500 USD
Background: I have flown to Moscow 12/03/2004 and return 12/07/2004 to visit friends from the University here in Prague.

I arrived in a chilly morning on December 3rd to Prague´s Airport Ruzyne terminal. Very clean, new, fresh, nice people all over the place- a joy to travel. I went to the Czech Airlines check-in station and it was a breeze, in three minutes I had my boarding pass, mainly thanks to the fact I had no baggage, only hand luggage.

I passed passport control and headed straight to the gate with a short stop to buy magazines and newspapers. After doing this, I headed to apron A where my B 737-400 was awaiting. Boarding was quick, first, of course, passengers with elite cards (not me, I posses a FD Blue card).
Soon I was seated on seat 17A with a cute F/A asking me if I feel comfortable. The safety procedure acting was performed in three languages (Czech, Russian and English). All the F/A´s spoke Czech and English and one of the them (the oldest) spoke Russian as well.
After takeoff, I began to read my newspaper and the crew quickly handed in the meal which consisted in the typical Czech meal, vepro-knedlo-zelo which is pork meat-special dough boiled in water-and cabbage- yummy, with a chocolate cake and coffee/tea to choose. After the meal was pick up, they passed again with the beverage cart and that was it.
The restroom was very filthy after just 1 hour of flight- paper, towels, soaps, everything was on the floor, water all around the bathroom, urine on the floor (somebody has no aim!!!) and smell. After I left the bathroom, I asked the F/A if they can please clean it, that its horrible. They did in just one minute. But again, before arrival, the bathroom was exactly the same of filthy- I deduced: its not Czech Airlines fault, its the people who behave like pigs.
Arrival in SVO was kind of bumpy with very cold looking weather. I left the plane with mixed feelings. Always after a OK´s flight, I think they could do much more.

Summary: mixed, good food, nice F/A´s, great athmosphere on board, but no IFE, fitlhy bathroom (I know that its not CSA´s fault), kind of poor service. They just do better on long-haul.
Rating: 6 out of 10

Segment 2:

Aeroflot-Russian International flight 143
Scheduled Departure: 7:00pm
Actual Departure: 7:02pm
Sheduled Arrival: 7:30pm
Actual Arrival: 7:27pm
Seat: 22A
Equipment: A320
Class: Coach

After arrival to SVO from a very nice time passed in Moscow, drinking vodka, seeing the famous Kreml, etc. I was very tired and kinda happy to fly back to Prague and take a huge sleep since with my friends I slept in average only 4 hours a day. Also, don´t know why, Moscow and Russia remides of the black history of my country (1968- occupation of former Czechoslovakia) and Communism in general. But I passed very nice time in Moscow, Russians are very friendly and I will definitely come back.
The very communist architecture of SVO welcomed me when arriving to the check-in desk of Aeroflot, kind of very dirty airport, lines everywhere, opposite of PRG.

Check-in was quick (thanks God!) and I received my boarding pass. I headed to the clear all the obligations before boarding the plane, an A320 of Aeroflot in the new livery.

Boarding was quick and soon I was seated on a confy seat, row 22, seat A. The flight was packed. We took off on time, with safety demo in Russian and English (surprised that no Czech today!) done previously by the F/A´s.
After reaching cruising altitude I fell asleep since I was so tired and woke up when we were slowing down in PRG. Happy to be home!!!

I had no idea of service, food, IFE since I was sleeping the entire flight. I guess it was good, since aeroflot has very good and high standarts.
De-boarding was slow but accomplished like 20minutes after touchdown. F/A´s were very sympathetic when De-boarding, saying like 20 time "thanks for flying Aeroflot, bye" and smiling.
Summary: since I was sleeping during the whole flight, I cannot judge any aspect of the flight, but from what I heard, Aeroflot is a very good, western-like airline.
Rating: N/A

Any comments, questions or critics welcomed.

Adam

Very nice report. Wish we could get more reports on Aeroflot - I'm very interested to see more about what their services are like these days.

I´m so ashamed that I was sleeping the whole flight, I wanted to enjoy the Aeroflot service since it is very questioned nowadays. But really, even though I have flown Aeroflot, I cannot grade their level of service, food, etc.

Adam
