Weather was clear in Adelaide with a smooth take off. All drinks and snacks had to be purchased. On the way over I bought a can of lemonade and chips.
The only entertainment onboard was audio channels. I did not bother buying headphones. I spent the time just staring out of the window and taking a few photos during the flight. The plane was full.
Perth is a hard airport because it is in the middle of bushland and can't get near the ends of the runway.
The only spot that is good is the observation deck in the international terminal. There is also a small area with a barbeque etc by the international terminal. These spots are only good in the morning. If it is raining the observation deck is no good for photos as rain gets on the glass.
You need a car and to drive around and find spots yourself. However there is a large amount of regional and flights from other Australian states coming and going all day with a few international movements spread through the day
When most people think of ‘low cost airline’ they usually think of Ryanair or Southwest. Many have heard horror stories about these airlines.
I was expecting Virgin Blue to be like this, but what I found onboard was friendly and efficient service. I would fly Virgin Blue again.
