I usually fly with CX directly to Surabaya. However, since all flight to SUB was sold out (surprisingly), I had to reroute myself to CGK on CX and then connect to Surabaya with GA. I only took pictures on the return portion of the trip and the pics quality aren't the best. Hope you guys will enjoy it.

Check in at Surabaya Juanda International Airpot was quite chaotic. I was very surprise that my dad has bought me a business class ticket so I proceed to the business class check in counter. I believe there are 2 counters for J and 3 counter for Y. There were approximately 3 to 4 people lining up at the J counter while the Y was empty. So I proceed to the economy check in counter and was greeted by a friendly check in agent.
After check in, I went to check out the business class lounge. The lounge was located before the security check and there isn't any special about it. The lounge itself is divided into 2 sections, a smoking section and a non-smoking one.
The security check point:
The domestic departure lounge at Juanda Airport
A Lion Air boarding to Ujung Pandang, I believe
Boaridng was called around 30 minutes before departure (at 10:30). I proceed to Gate 4, Garuda's gate at Juanda Airport. People already started to board the bus. There are two different buses, one for the executive while the other for economy class. I choose to board the economy class so that I can take more pics of the airport.
The aircraft thats gonna bring me to Jakarta, PK-GGT
For spotting, I saw a Lion Air arrived from unknown, a GA Citilink, a Malaysian from Kuala Lumpur
The new Juanda control tower:
I proceed to my seat 3F, settle down and took more pics
My seat, 3F
Lining up for departure
Service commenced shortly after the departure. I skipped the lunch and continued to take more pictures.
Start of decent to Jakarta Soekarno Hatta Airport
Garuda Maintenance Area, you can see three B747-200s standing there
Arriving Jakarta Soekarno Hatta Airport and more spotting from the aircraft
I forgot where the aircraft was docked to, but after arrival, I exited the aircraft and proceed to the bagage claim area. My luggage was one of the first to come out.
Overall, it was a very pleasant service on Garuda Indonesia, although its only an hour flight, the cabin crew check on the passengers and they always smile (although its kind a fake anyway). However, no IFE exist on the aircraft. I remember last year, GA had a small television mounted on the wall and showing some short features and comedies. But IFE is not that important because of the relative short journey. The flight itself was also very full, only one open on J and fully booked on Y. Garuda should be doing pretty well on this sector (with 12 flights each day) even though with intense competition from Lion Air, Adam Air and other Indonesian domestic operator.

After arrival from Surabaya, I took the elevator to the departure level and proceed to get terminal D.
Airline using terminal D
The departure board, somehow, it only shows Garuda's and Lion's flight

Actual Arrival: 20:37
Before proceed to the check in counter, I was stopped by the security asking where is my ticket. I told him its an e-ticket, but he somehow does not believe it. So in the end, I have to argue with him for like 5 mins and ask a CX reps to come before he allowed me in. Kind a stupid!!
Check in counter:
I proceed to the Business Class counter, presented by Silver card and passport. I did an online check in for 56A, as I thought the flight is gonna be empty. But it turned out to be a fully booked one and I reallocate myself to 54C, the emergency exit. The only bad thing about the seat was no window, otherwise, you will have an abundant space to relax.
Fiscal Check:
The shopping area
Spotting, a special color scheme Gulf Air B767-300 and more
After spotting, I proceed to the lounge, I believe its called the Premier Lounge or something like that. There are three computers, a few selections of food and beverage, but none of them interested me.
I proceed to the gate around 14:45 and there is a check point before the waiting area. When I got into the departure area, it was already empty.
The flight itself was pretty uneventful. We were served chicken curry with rice, a salad and a cheese cake. I asked for red wine and once again, the FA asked me how old are you!! Its pretty funny how every time I asked for wine they will always ask that question. The food itself was pretty good and the FA was very attentive and good looking (probably the best one from all of my CX experience). The ISM did came out all the way to economy to greet me and say she is very happy that I am flying with CX again. Quite surprising as this is only second time the ISM greeted me as most of the time, the ISM will look at the list right in front of me, and then looked at my face for 5 sec and then proceed to the next one. I always think that its probably because I am only 19, so its not worthwhile to be attentive to a teenagers.. haha..!!
I watched The Wedding Date (I won''t recommend anyone to watch it) and then grab two hours of sleep before awaken by the FA for landing preparation. Probably because of the lack of sleep from the previous night and the effect from the red wine.
Touchdown was on 25R and it was very smooth. I believe the aircraft was docked to gate 24. Immigration was completed in less than 10 minutes and the luggage was already waiting in the carousel for me to pick it up.
Overall, it was another pleasent flight on CX. Nothing out of ordinary but CX did meet the expectation on every aspect and I will continue to fly with them.
Here is a cabin shot of the aircraft, B-HXI, the first section of the economy class.

I had the same problem with an immigration official at the CGK arrivals when he asked for my return ticket. Somehow, the meaning of e-ticket gets lost with them!
Great report and I love it especially when there are pictures to go with it. Brings back a lot of memories of my travels to JKT.
Welcome to my starry one world alliance, a team in the sky!

Some of the aircraft do not feature the IFE. Unfortunately you were stuck on PK-GGT, which is one of the worst in the fleet when it comes to cabin interior.

Garuda operates 15 times daily between Jakarta and Surabaya, and low cost offspring Garuda Citilink has another 6 daily departures on the route. CGK-SUB remains the number one domestic business route, and altough the number of flights has decreased a bit with the demise of Star Air and the rough times for Bouraq and Pelita, there must still be close to 50 departures a day between the 2 airports. As for Garuda, the route has some of the highest business class occupancy rates in the domestic network.

opps.. I always thought that GA served SUB hourly from 6am to 10 pm.. thanx for correcting me that..!!
Quoting Vasu (Reply 2): what was Jakarta airport like?
Jakarta airport is quite beautiful in my opinion (structure wise) but Gaurda's domestic hall (terminal F) is quite a mess. Taxi driver will rush to you and grab your luggages to the taxi even though you have been repeating said no. For transit between terminal (in my case F to D), you have to walk through the open air for 5 minutes and its very hot. I heard there is bus shuttle available but I couldn't find it.
The international departure hall is very nice and spacious however only a limited number of shops and restaurants available. But overall, its a pretty nice airport.
Also, I just realized one of the pic was wrong.
