Hello Hello, nice people of this beautiful world !
Sunday, March 17, 2001.
Flight number : AF347
Aircraft: An Air France B747-428...sorry I did'nt catch the reg.
Ok lets start :
We arrive at the AF counters (we were about the first ones), we give our luggage before having protected them with the plastic machine...while my father and mother go deal to change some lugage extra cost, I stay with my poor dog, Pearl, a big golden retriever, and the cage (my dog's cage is the biggest in the industry, imagine the size !), which at every time need to move because of people traffic.
Then we go get a drink with the dog, and we come back to the AF counters to put the big dog in the big cage...and say goooodbyyyyye Pearlichou.......she was turning around in the cage as if she was mad as the guy took her to the a/c.....
Then we went to pay our airport taxes (10 Canadian$) and say good bye to dad, and we walked a loooooooooonnnng way to the terminal 28.
We boarded not so quickly, with everybody pushing around to enter the plane !
And the walk in the airbridge was also veeeeeeryyyy long...........it ws so hot in there.
Finally we walked into the a/c...I like that when you enter the 747, with the huge doors... the cabin was fitted with the new colours, the stripes on the carpet and on the headrest. And NO, the new colours (yes I know it has been a thousand times I say that but..) are not at all "tacky" as you people say.
I was in the aisle seat 17C, my mother in the B.
There was a huge amount of legroom ! the seat is very comfy, even though it was a bit hard.
We pushed back soon and we took off very fast, and the crew was adjusting the lights every 10 seconds...
We were given our little tempo kit and the menus, which features :
we were the last one being served, as when it camed to us, the first 4 rows, the nice young f/a stopped serving us with galleys and asked us what plate we wanted, then went to get it, and went to give it to us, and same thing for the drinks. but she forgot we were there and we had to wait 5-10 minutes until she realize that she forgot us ! she nicely apoligized. but this type of service she gaved to us the first 4 rows of Y were I foind a very good maneer to serve us, and very personalised.
The meal were quite good (I had the french one ) and for the first time ever, the dessert was good !!!well done, AF !
then came the coffe/tea service.
After that the movie started. it was Nurse Betty. A bit a stupid movie in my opinion.
We had a few turbulences in the flight, and, probably because of the bad weather in the Atlantic Ocean, I noticed that the pilot went up to north Ireland and then went south to France. this was the reason why we landed at 8:40 instead of 8:25.
The F/As that served us were really nice, and gived a personal service, and were sometime even joking around with us.

Great Report!
I must say that Air France's dessert is very good. I flew with them in Tempo during last December and was served creme puffs in a thick chocolate on one flight, and on the other I was served an apricot tart or tort or turnover, (something like that.) Needless to say it was very good. I also noticed that the F/As gave everybody personalized service. They were very professional and very nice.
Also like your flight, on one of my flights ( AF A340 CDG-ATL), there were no PTVs and I had to sit through the most horrid movie in the world...Most Valuable Primate. gag. The 9 hours of clouds and water made up for it though.
Needless to say a truly awesome and unforgetable experience on a truly awesome and amazing airline.
Viva Air France.

I think it's interesting their menus show a picture of what the meal is supposed to look like. I wonder if it bears any resemblence to what you actually receive?

Bonjour and Welcome back !
I am very pleased you have enjoyed your flight on our 747-400 from Montreal Dorval.
I am very happy you like the new interiors of our aircrafts and that the tray was up to your expectations.
Ctbarnes, The food on the picture looks exactly like the tray you get.

AC320: yes I enjoyed the few times I went to Montréal while I was in Canada for 7 months. The airport is nice too.
By the way, could anyone provide me some info about Air Saint Pierre ? At the airport, it was some AF crew that were at the check-inn; is it related to AF by any ways ?
Ctbarnes: Actually yes I confirm what AF Cabin Crew said, the food on the photo looks like what you get.
FLYYUL: yes the flight was absolutly a 100% full.
