Sunday 7/24 a friend and I decided to fly down to PHL for the day to check out the city and celebrate my b'day (29 and clinging to my 20's). Anyway, we flew WN on the 9:30A nonstop BDL-PHL. There were about twelve people on the plane.
My return flight was delayed about an hour or so due to a 'mechanical' delay. I found the WN gate agents at PHL to be pretty nasty. I felt better calling reservations to get updates than I did dealing w/ the agents. THey seemed annoyed w/ the customers. That's horrible. Anyway, the return flight (again) had about 12 people onboard. Anyone traveling w/ WN and PHL encounter nasty agents?
I knew WN was doing well w/ PHL, but I didn't realize how well! The WN E gate area around 10am was a MADHOUSE!! Blue planes everywhere. I checked their website and see they're flying nonstop to 17 cities. Pretty good considering the station opened last year.
One more thing, the terminal seemed dumpy. Who used the E gates before WN came in?

He said 50 people 15 bags and half go on to MCO, so you do the math there, very light loads on that route. I don't know how they're doing so well, because I once saw a FLL-PHL board with like 12 people on it. BDL-PHL can operate with 12 people, short flight...but FLL-PHL...that's one long flight to only have 12 people on.

Yea that's pretty accurate. Today it was the same at BDL. I think maybe one of the two PHL flights I worked today broke 50% load factor. The other one was almost empty with maybe 10-20 passengers and only a handful of bags. Very easy flight to work as you just kinda toss the bags in bin A or C and go.

I've worked the 6:40 am PHL-BDL flight on 3 occasions and the most peoploe we have has was around 20. Since we are pressed for space at PHL, I predict that we will probably pull out of PHL-BDL and use the gates for more frequency to FL. In spite of what FLAirport witnessed, every PHL-FLL flight I have worked has been full!
