This is my trip report for my trip PDX-PIT via ORD . I was flying with my little brother alone, though we weren't flying as UMs.

UAL Flight 620
Departure Time: 8:55 AM
Actual: 9:20 (Approx)
Aircraft Type: A319
We got to the airport at about 7:00. We took the underground tunnel from the parking garage to the terminal, which I had never been in before. We had checked in online the day before ( I was hoping for some upgrades!) so all we needed to do was check our luggage through to PIT. Very short wait time in line for a kiosk, and once we got up to one, it only took maybe 3 minutes to check the bags. We proceeded over to one of the CTX machines, only to be told we had to go to the next one. There was some problem... The TSA person at the next one tried to make some joke, but it wasn't very funny. At least he tried! We went back to the food court before security, and I had my usual at Wendy's, except they didn't have any salads So I had fries and a Frosty. We looked out the Windows while we ate. Saw a NW aircraft being towed, as well as a America West Express aircraft being towed. The concourse connector was being worked on, and it was coming along nicely. It will be very nice once it is done! Time came to go through security, so I said bye to my Mom, and off we went. As soon as we got to our gate, a nice message popped up saying we were delayed until 9:55 due to ATC/Rwy Configurations. It was okay, because it would still leave us time to get to our connecting flight. I called my Mom's cell to tell her she'd be waiting a while, so she went and asked for a gate pass to come back. Then at about 8:45 they decided we could leave PDX on time, so they started boarding. We were out of PDX at about 9:20, so we weren't too late.
The aircraft was nice and clean inside, and the flight crew was very nice. One of the FAs kept getting asked what actress she looked like, because she looked a lot like Sandra Bullock. I watched a movie, and talked to the person sitting next to be. Descent was fast, and we ended up pulling up to the gate about 10 minutes late, which wasn't bad. We were at B10 I believe.
After getting off of the aircraft, we looked at the departure monitor to fiind that our next flight was delayed from 4:00 to 4:49. We decided to go over to the terminal anyway, and get something to eat.

UAL Flight 5695 (Operated by AWAC)
Departure Time: 4:00 PM
Aircraft Type: BAE 146-???
Upon arriving in T2 I decided it was probably a mistake. the corridors are so narrow, and the construction wasn't helping. We went to our gate, and there was no aircraft there, which made sense. That must've been why we were delayed. We went to get something to eat, and when we came back it had just begun to rain. Still no aircraft. I checked the monitors again, only to find that we had been moved to a different gate. We walked over to the next gate which had about 5 flights leaving from it, so we sat down and waited. I had heard them saying that the flight was weight restricted as well as they were waiting for a crew, so I wasn't too sure what was going to happen. I kept getting up and checking the monitors, and on the 3rd check I saw it said cancelled..But there wasn't any announcemnet made for another 5 minutes. I told my brother to get ready to go, since I wanted to gert out of the gate area before others, since I new it would be a mad dash. I was hoping that it was just an error on the screen, but moments later they made the announcement. "We regret to iinform you that flight 5695....blah blah blah..Please go to the customer service center at either gate X or Gate Y..(Pause) Nevermind, Gate Y is closed. Go to Gate X" (I can't remember the actuall gates) uPon arriving at the customer service desk, I saw that the line was going around the corner, and down the hall. There were only 2 people working it, so I knew we weren't going to get through anytime soon. We walked back over to the B concourse of T1 to check and see if that customer service center was open..It wasn't. We walked over to one of the B Gates and I asked a gate agent where the closest CS Center was. She offered to help me right there, which was very nice of her. She got us on the standby list for the flight leaving at 6 something, and on the next flight, and confirmed for a morning flight. I wish I got her name, she went above and beyond what she had to do. If she didn't do what she did, I don't know that we would've gotten out of ORD that night.

UAL Flight Can't Remember
Departure Time: 6 Something PM
Actual: After 8 (didn't have my watch)
Aircraft Type: 737-300
We went to the next gate area (B4 or B6) and found that this flight was also delayed due to late incoming aircraft and weather. By the time the aircraft showed up, we thought we would be out of there, but nope. Missing a FA. We waited and waited, and finally the CSR announced a FA was on their way "Up" and that they were in the Airport. Still no one quite a bit later, so some of the passengers were getting quite ticked. I didn't really care, I knew we were delayed, and there was nothing I could do about it. Some of the other passengers were yelling at the CSR, I felt bad for her. Finally the replacement FA showed up, so we could be on our way.
We had a long taxi, but then we were up and out! We ended up landing in Pittsburgh at about 11:00 at a gate that UA sometimes uses when they have extra aircraft on the ground. (In the old international area) We went down to the train and waited a while since only one was running. Baggage came quickly and we were out of there by 11:30 I believe.
Over all I thought UA handled things very well. The gate agent was very helpful, adn they did what they could. I don't know what AWAC's problem was, but they were having problems all over the concourse. Ton's of flights delayed and cancelled. In the future, I won't be booking an express flight, unless I have to! This is my first TR, so I hope you enjoyed it!
