Well, the time finally came for me to make the trip of a lifetime out to San Francisco. A proper american city (I dont class LAS as a proper city)

I got to Manchester around 1230, and was going for a flt around 1430, but as i was not going to be able to get lounge access, the check in agent said i could be moved to the 1300 flt. I got on, and was not happy with who i got. Of all the BA 75's,this was the one i dont like

Plane was mostly full, and i was seated in the rear cabin. Not a good start. It was hte old style chairs with cloth, not leather, and the pitch seemed VERY small, compared to the front cabins. We headed past the Viewing park on the way to Runway 9, where i managed to see the Trident who had just been brought up to manchester. We headed off and hit a bit of turbulence then climbed to our cruising alt.

The service was quick and fast, a tea and shortbread biscuit lol. It was ok, i was not in the mood for food as the flt was jumpy. We were warned by our aussie pilot it would start to get a bit jumpy due to a strong cross wind on landing at london.

We entered finals for runway 09L. Just as we flared, we REALLY started to swing in the wind, i was gripping the seat for dear life. We bucked left andright, i really thought we would go around. But we did not. We hit with a bump on the left wheel, then settled all three gears down. Wind was still very strong as u could feel the plane being pushed. Most of the people in my section were BA staff, andwe were all shocked we did not go around, but i just put it down to the fact the guy was an aussie LOL

Hada nice chat to the cabin crew as we were leaving, and made my way to my bag. I was spendingthe night at the Skyline. I made my way to the bus, got to the hotel, and checked in. WHAT A ROOM, the bed was so so comfy, i did not want to get out of it. Room service was ordered of couse, no alcohol as it was WAY to expensive, but food was very enjoyable.

After a great nites sleep,i made my way to the airport, and staff check in, where 60 min before departure, i was given a seat on BA279 to LAX.
(Its late, im tired, so will post this now, and post my 279 report tomorrow)

Welcome to California! I see by your blog that you're up here in the north--so I'm glad we've turned on the nice weather for you. Definitely the time for a Mustang convertible (or an RJ flight down to or up from LA!) Enjoy the rest of the trip (drop a line if you need/want any touristy tips) and keep the reports coming.

What are you whinging about? its a 35 minute flight, does it matter what the seats and service are like?? Do you know what you'd get on BMI if you flew that sector with them? BOG ALL!!

Out of interest, what is so bad about BP? The interior configuration?

Its strange.I dont like the fact it has no blue belly. BA to me is blue belly, and this one just looks kinda odd to me, thats all lol.The config is the same, leather seats up front, and Cloth at the rear.
