Hi everybody!
This trip was very special for me since it had a many firsts for me, my first trip on Malaysian airlines, the first time I visited all three major airports in the New York area, the first time on a 757 and also the opportunity to try three of the LCC's in USA; Song, Jetblue and Ted. I will grade them all later.
I decided this summer that I was going to spend one month in the US this coming fall for studies and just some fun since my brother lives in New York. My mom and dad sad that this was a good time for the whole family to go to Las Vegas, no arguments there I also booked a trip to Orlando to go visit
Universal studios since that was a part of my studies (I'm doing a radioshow about American roller coasters).
Malaysian offered very low prices to EWR from ARN (380$R/T) so I could hardly turn it down. On October first I was of to ARN and I passed security with no hassle in time to see my bird coming in on 19R from KUL.
The fist thing I noticed was that the cabincrew especially the girls was stunning, absolutely beautiful.
The captain was really worried about being late so the push-back began before every passenger was even seated. Here are some pictures showing our taxi and departure from 19 R.
Plenty of legroom and very nice with a legrest.
Very nice looking tower.
Lining up.
The take-off was very smooth compared to BA 747's I think. It maybe has something to do with different engines or because the light was low, maybe around 70%. The first meal concisted of two sandwiches, one with salmon and one with chicken and a very good ice-cream for dessert.
Here we are close to Iceland on our atlantic crossing.
Malaysian is an arabic airline. You notice that because on the airshow the always show you in which direction you can find Mecca if you are arabic and in the need for prayer.
These views I will never forget, absolutely stunning. I'm in love with Greenland.
And then it was time for dinner, nothing special. Some sort of chicken.
Beautiful dusk when we started descending into EWR and on the approach we overflew a lit up Giants/Jets stadium in New Jersey.
The landing on 22 L was smooth and the immigration was easy except I couldn't find a customform since they ran out on the plane but after some hussle it worked out well.
This flight was all in total darkness so no pictures I'm afraid. This was also my first time on a 757 and may I say that I was truly pleased. It was a smooth ride all the way. Too bad you can't say the same about terminal 2 at JFK. They didn't even had toiletpapers on the toilet. And when we got on the airplane my brother complained about that the seats didn't have any coathangers. Other than that Song was GREAT. IFE, very good with the inflight trivia and we had an empty seat between us so we could watch
movies on my brothers computer. We bought some food which was very tasty. The best thing was the pre-recorded security breefing carried out by some sort of Barrie White copy, it was a laugh. We took-off from 13R and landed on 25R. Then we hit the crap tables. Too bad I didn't win that much but hey, I got free drinks

Dark flight but one lousy picture. This was my first time on a 767-200 and that plane is OLD, you could feel it, even smell it. Please Delta retire them. We had a very windy but fast take-off on 01L and I tried to take a picture of the strip, this is how it turned out.
The flight was very uneventful and we landed on time without any reversers on 26R.

The load was only about 10% if even that much. Maybe not so strange concidering that it was on a sunday morning at 06:00. We had a very quick take-off from 27R and the whole flight was very smooth. When the sun started to rise I got these very nice shoots.
Here is a look at the almost empty cabin.
And here are some shots of the landing on 4 R and the taxing on JFK. The weather sucked in NY by the way.
I will post the rest of the report in a reply to this post.
I checked-in online the day before which saved me a lot of time at the airport. It was a beautiful day and I took the "E" subway to Jamaica and transferred to the very smooth and comfortable AirTrain that took me to terminal 6. After dropping of my bags I did some spotting on top of the parkinggarage opposite terminal 2 and 3.
Then I saw my plane "Shades of Blue" arrive from Rochester NY with just one half hour to spare before our departure, a very quick turn around time.
Taxing
Lining up on 31L
The take-off was very powerful as always on the A 320 and sitting on the right hand side gave me an excellent view over Manhattan and Brooklyn before turning south on our way to sunny Florida.
When comparing Jetblue and Song I must say that even though the pitch is better on Jetblue Song wins hands down because of the much better IFE on Song and the atmosphere onboard the aircraft.
We flew a downwind leg east of the airport and landed on 35L without any reversers. We rolled alla the way to the end of the runway which gave us a very quick taxi to thwe terminal. The load was 100% on the flight.
MCO airport
After three wonderful days in Orlando with lots of roller coasters it was time to go home to New York. I had bought a more expensive trip home just to experience United and ORD.

I hadn't prebooked my seats on these legs but that turned out greta since I was upgraded to economy plus on both legs . The security was very hard and I got a full body scan, only external though Otherwise I really liked MCO, a very nice airport. Here is my plane standing at the gate.
And just look at this legroom when sitting in economy plus combined with the exitrow:D
And now for the reason why Ted is soo much better than Jetblue and Song. CHANNEL 9. You can not ask for better IFE, it was great. I just wish more airlines could install this great feature. Take-off from 18L as you can see.
The flight was great and since Ch 9 was on I could hear that another plane had some pressurefailure but they would be okay if they where aloud to descend to 10000 feet. Our female approach controller directed us to a smooth landing on 4R almost paralell with another airplane that was coming in on 9R. If I would choose between Song, Jetblue and Ted again my choice would be first Ted, second Song, last but not least Jetblue.

We where delayed one hour because lack of gatespace at LGA so we taxied out to some sort of penaltybox near the runway awaiting further instructions. But I could kill time listening to channel 9 so the delay was nothing to cry about. The groundcontroller who was a woman was so cool. Yelling at various aircrafts for not following her instruction correct or in time. Gave me some good laughs. After some time we got clearence and took off from 9L which gave me this very nice view of downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan.
When arriving to LGA we got the visual expressway 31 approach which was cool. To bad I was sitting on the right hand side of the aircraft though
One rainy and windy day when I had nothing else to do I took a little minitrip out to LGA watching the approach into runway 4. It was awesome and the sound was sooo cool. Here are some pictures.
Time to go home to cold Sweden.

Singapore airlines A340-500 sceduled to take-off for SIN at 23:00.
The load on this flight was about 85%. Take-off was on 22R. Very smooth take-off and the difference in soundvolume was very noticable when sitting infront of the wing instead of behind the wing. As usual there where som heavy banking right after take-off and we stayed on a very low altitude and speed for a long time before the engines started to whine up and we soared high up in the night sky. The food was discusting, some sort of chicken with curry. I watched Bewitched. It was okay but nothing special. The flight was nice and smooth.
We landed smoothly and right on time on 19R. All in all I had a great time in the US and I will absolutely return soon.
Here are som pictures when the sun was rising on the other side of the plane. But it gave the engines on my side a nice golden glow
Thanks for reading. Any comments are always welcome

Sorry for all the spellingmistakes I did and also for the shot of the Deltaplane standing on the gate which is not the 757 I was on but a 767-400 that was standing at the gate besides ours.

Fantastic report! Very nice pictures and excellent narrative. Good job on managing to do all that (3 nyc airports, 3 lccs, MH, 757) all in one go.
Couple of comments.
Quoting Mischadee (Thread starter): Malaysian is an arabic airline. You notice that because on the airshow the always show you in which direction you can find Mecca if you are arabic and in the need for prayer.
1. Arabic is a language not an adjective
2. Malaysia is not an Arab country
Malaysia however has a very large muslim population.

You write a fantastic Trip Report! That was quite an ambitious trip .. and I agree with you about how much fun Song flights are - its a shame they're to be merged back in to Delta again though.
I hope you don't mind but I've ssaved out some of your pics to use as wallpaper on my computer - - the one of
the Las Vegas strip and and the very last one of the sunrise illuminating the 747s engines are absolutely great!
Also - here i am someone who lives so close to NYC and I have no idea where you were to get those great shots of the planes landing Rwy4 at LGA .. . mind sharing that viewing spot with me?
Thanks again - glad u enjoyed your visit over here.

I am honored that you use my pictures, go right ahead .
As for the spottingplace. I took the bus M60 from Astoria in Queens to a stop just before 87th street. You can see a little park and the approach clearly so you will know when to get of.
