I remembered this trip really well, this particular trip was 3 and a half years ago.
The airline we were flying was Qantas city of Newcastle which was painted under left and right windows. The aircraft was a 747 400.

With a full load of fuel onboard we took off from Melbourne(Tullamerine) bound for Singapore(changi) airport.
The flight was quite uneventful while flying over the mainland of Australia, just on dark we passed over the bungle bungles which I could just see as it was getting dark as we were flying at cruising altidude of 38 000 feet. Soon we were passing over the timor sea and heading over the islands of indonesia, The captain then announced that we would be flying over a tropical storm and sure enough I could see the flashes of lightning below. I remebered having a can of cola in my hand then suddenly losing it as the plane hit a pocket of air as the plane suddenly dived a few meters, which seemed more then it actually had.
As the plane hit singapore it was becoming light outside and I remembered as we were flying low over some sort of bay I remembered being able to see ships quite clearly and coral outcrops.
As I disembarked off the plane at the terminal I remeber how hot and sticky it was in the Airport. I walked thru duty free until the flight was ready to board again for the rest of the journey.

The rest of the flight was quite uneventful, I also remembered flying over Europe as I traced the plane's route on the map in the Qantas Magizine. Once the plane neared Heathrow airport I could make out london Bridge from the plane's holding pattern of 23 000 feet as the crew waited for clearence from LHR Tower. As we descended I noticed other planes holding above us as I looked out of the window. Probably the other Qantas plane which was behind us in Melbourne flying a different route had caught up.
I admired the effeciancy that the staff at Qantas provided in check out as my bags were waiting for me at the conveyor belt.

Thanks for adding your comment, I found the service very friendly and the air crew were always there when you needed them on the flight, The Pilot and captain did a good job when the weather got a little tough.
I give the airline a rating of 100 out of 100

Well i am glad that you liked Qantas, i think the reason why i didnot like them was because i had a bad Flight crew including Flight attendants.
It goes to show, Flight attendants are the ones that make you choose that airline again.

Good trip report!

Cheers
mikey
