My Report GOT-LPA-GOT On DK

Here it comes, my first trip report. I landed just an hour ago when I start writing this.

7th April -01
DK 215
GOT-LPA
Premiair A330-300, OY-VKH
Seat 50K

Woke up early and went to the airport. The check in went very smoothly, almost no queues, even though this aircraft seats 407 people. Went to airside and looked at the aircrafts. Saw a few 737 from BA, BLX, LH and SK and a few MD80 type aircrafts. Also there where CRJ from LH and VO, A320/321 from DK and SN and finally a MD11F from LH Cargo. I also saw a few prop aircrafts but didn’t recognise them. I saw lots of beautiful t/o and landings on the wet RWY. At 7:24 we got pushback and start-up. Taxied out to the RWY, entered at 7:32. Quick t/o and after a 49 s. t/o roll we where airborne. We used a lot of the 3300 m long RWY and quickly went in to the clouds.
At 8:36 breakfast was served, not to good but I was starving so I ate it all in a hurry. After that they showed a movie, Small time Crooks with Woody Allen and Hugh Grant. Didn’t look, just fell in to my book and looked out. We hit some turbulence at 11:05, but not any bad. At 11:50 we met a Hapag Lloyd (don’t know the letter code) 738. They flew (I think) two FL below us, great to see!
Just before twelve o’clock we started to descend and landed after a 4h and 54 min long flight. Everyone applauded, tradition on charter… Taxied in to gate and left the aircraft at 12:34. On the airport I saw Maersk and Novair 737, DE 753, JK 321 and MD80 type, IB 742 and Edelweiss 310. And now I had a week of sun and bathes!

Came with the charter bus to the airport two hours before t/o. The check in queues where long but they went on quite fast. Saw almost the same aircrafts as the last week when I was here. Tried to get a jumpseat ride, but it was already taken by a family member of the crew :-(. Pushback and start-up clearance was achieved at 12:52. At 13:02 we entered the RWY and we where airborne after 46 s. It took over an hour before we got food, there was a choice of beef or chicken. I had the beef, not to good but I ate it all. After the food I managed to persuade my brother to get the window seat.
When I looked out I saw a long dark line at the sky. I took up my binocular and looked. It was far away, but the c/s was mainly blue, I would guess that it was a Maersk 737. Does anyone who knows more about this? It disappeared after 20 minutes or so.
The movie this time was Oss torpeder emellan (sorry I don’t know the name in English). At 17:47 we started descending in to GOT. We came over the coastline and flew alongside the airport, magnificent view! Turned around and landed 18:11. We used almost every feet of the runway, it was my best landing yet.

The A330 in Premiair version felt quite roomy but when they fell down the screens from the ceiling it felt much less roomy. The camera in the nose was used during taxi but it was retracted during t/o, bad I think. At the end, it was nice flights but nothing special.

I´m obviously not alone to make use of GOT (Gothenburg [Sweden]) as homebase airport.

Which RWY did you use for take off and landing at GOT?
And which approach did you use?
For the last week RWY 03 has been used for take offs and landings. Quite unusual as RWY 21 in over 90% is used for take offs and landings otherwise.
On the 10 of april I arrived by BU987 from Stockholm-Bromma and "Gisel 1A" was used which is very unusual. But it was great. As we passed west of GOT I saw a LH MD11F take off and a few seconds later a SAS MD8X land, all on RWY 03.

By the way, seat 50K in OY-VKH is a nice place. I used it on my Thailand (Phuket) journey in november last year. You can read it in my Trip Report. So, from now on it´s called "The Airliners.net seat".

We actually used RWY 21 for both t/o and landing at GOT. Is that so unusual? Most of the time's I've come to GOT it has been on RWY 21.
I don't know what the approach is called but we came in from the sea, over Gothenburg, approached the airport from the south, flew along side western of the airport, made a 180 degree turn and landed on RWY 21. Used almost the whole RWY so it was a quite long taxi back  Smile/happy/getting dizzy.

That´s correct. RWY 21 is usually used for both take offs and landings.
