Note: This is my first trip report so don’t laugh to hard.  Wink

It was the unfortunate hour of 5:00am. The horrors of morning struck, as I knew I’d be going to school today! Oh no! So I get up, and I realize that I’m not going to school today! I’m going to Washington D.C. to see my grandparents and my family!! Yay! I get ready and walked out the door. We got everything together, and with all of our bags, we headed out to the Boise Airport. I was very excited to be flying the SEA-DCA flight (I love long flights).
We get to the beautiful airport, and we check-in, and get our boarding passes. We hoped we’d get on this time.
Speaking of this time, the reason I say this brings me to another story, which just happened the day before. Our original plan was to leave the day before, on the 9:00 flight to Seattle, and catch the red-eye to DCA. This was inconvenient for me because with loving long flights, I love getting meals on long flights. I know, I’m probably pretty odd. Anyway, we got to the airport, and since we are flying as non-revs, we needed two seats (my dad could fly jumpseat), for my stepmom and me. We got through the check-in and we saw the plane taking us to Seattle. However the loads were –3 seats available, with 1 other non-rev. We didn’t get on the plane. Waste of time? Heck no! We were at the airport! Airport and waste of time do not belong in the same sentence!
Anyway, we got our boarding passes, and headed to the security line. There was a very long line (Considering how big Boise was.), easily a 30-45 minute wait. However, one guy opened another metal detector, and we were one of the first to proceed through it. So it only took us about 15 minutes to get through. We headed to the gate, and sure enough, we got on! However, because the flight was relatively full, my stepmom, my dad, and me got separated. No biggie, though, because it was a rather short flight. We went through the gate and boarded the plane.

Gate: C1

Here is the cabin of our plane...

I headed to my seat, and saw that I was sitting next to two girls. I let them sit next to each other, and I moved myself out of the middle seat, into the aisle seat. We took off and we flew over the city of Boise. It was completely dark outside, at the time, so I didn’t take any pics, except for a few aisle shots. I was tired, so I fell asleep. I kept waking up, but I probably got a solid 45 minutes of sleep. Heck I was hoping to get a little bit more, but when you only get about 6 hours of sleep, well, you know the rest. When I woke up, we were on our descent. We landed in Seattle pretty early in the morning (What do you expect me to say? 9:21 am and 43 seconds? I had no clue what time we landed. LOL.). I tried looking out the window, but couldn’t really see anything. We got to our gate.

We walked out, and seeing our departure time was in an hour and a half, we decided to walk around.

Seattle Concourse D

There were many planes at SEA...well, duh!...among the planes I saw an AC n/c A320, United n/c A320 (Which I was ecstatic to see), and too many AS aircraft!

Just some of my spotting pics

Alaska Disney Plane...

Our plane to DCA would leave out of gate N8. Keep this in mind, as it will become humorous later on. We headed down to check out the new Main Terminal at Seattle, and by goodness it was beautiful. We headed out to the N Satellite, and decided to spot for a while. I got a lot of great spotting pics. While I was spotting, I heard the gate was changed to N11. But not to worry, as I was still spotting, and there was a world of time left.

American 757 taking-off

Alaska 737-400 lifting off the ground with a trail of mist following

Alaska Disney 737-400 taxiing for takeoff while a Southwest 737 lands

Skywest EMB-120 preparing to leave for Spokane, I believe it was.

Continental 737-800 w/ winglets heading to Houston

After I was done spotting, I heard the gate changed to N3! Not again! But I don’t really care anyway, as the gate is a nearby. Our plane was delayed. Goody. The plane came in. I was hoping for a 737-800 (that’s what I flew on last time). However it was a 737-700 with no winglets. Oh well. Anyway, we boarded and went on our way to Washington D.C.

Our 737-700 sitting at the gate just as the sun peaks over the horizon, creating an effect on the land all around us that was just most pleasing.

Gate: N3
Seat 24A

We boarded, and I saw that the plane had leather seats, however, to spoil the fun, we were in the very back row. Other than the smell and sound of the lavatories, the noise of the engine, the non-reclining of the seats, and the heat of the engine making a watery effect when looking out of the window, I was having a ball! Actually it wasn’t that bad. I enjoyed the leather softness of the seats.

Beautiful Takeoff Scene

We takeoff!

Concourse A

We took off! I was looking at the terminal as we took off (something I love to do.). I spent pretty much the whole flight looking out the window, reading magazines, and best of all, reading Calvin and Hobbes, by far my favorite comic. We were later served a breakfast, which consisted of basically a sandwich much like an Egg McMuffin.

I hate scrabble!! (Which I played afterward)
After about 2 ½ hours into the flight, I took a nap, and I got up as we were descending. We neared Washington D.C. and landed soon after. I can only describe the approach through pictures.

I woke up and we were passing over IAD, I scrambled like mad to get the camera and take pictures  Smile

So there's basically my trip report, and apologies for not doing the return trip, because I can't remember it too well (This TR took place in November, but I wrote this one on the plane). If you haven't been snoozing by now, or haven't pressed the back button and actually read the entire thing, I'm impressed!! Hahaha, thank you for reading!

My next trip report will be BOI-MSP-DCA-MSP-BOI

Great TR! Excellent pictures, don't worry about having too many pics, you can't ever have too many pics in a TR. Look forward to your next one.

Ahhh...ok: I see the US flight to PHL (which I just booked for 8/26) #782, an A319, and the UA flight is a 752 heading to ORD and MHT. #1236 I think is the flight #.
