This was a school tour back on the 27oct 2000 i forgot to write it so i'll write it now.
We had to get the bus to Dubin Airport from our school at 09:00am that morning. Our bus arrived late so we had to drive quick to get to the airport on time. When we arrived at the airport it was 12:00pm and our check in time was at 1:30pm but Aer Lingus was on strike all that morning and we didn't know even if our flight was going to leave. So we all just stood around the airport with nothing to do. I wanted to take a few fotos of some planes around Dublin but the teachers wouldn't let you go out of thier sight, Like most of us are 16 and they still wouldn't let us do anything.
Eventually the Aer Lingus staff came back on to the check in desks to check us all in at about 2:00pm. We all got checked in and headed down to Gate A. when we got down their we had to sit around and wait until they called us out to board. I seen alot of planes that afternoon mostly Ryanair and Aer Lingus. I seen a delta 767-300 takeing of and an British Midland A321-200 coming in to land.
We got our call for EI526 To paris at 2:50 and we boarded. I love that round Terminal building where there is now Air Bridges and you have to board by the stairs in dublin. It was a lovely 737-500 EI-CDC i love the 737. We boarded anyway and my seat was 17E right down the back. The flight was packed. The engines started up flaps went down and we taxied out to runway 28 behind an Aer lingus A321 and a iberia A320. we where number 3 for takeoff. When the other two left the runway we lined up and waited and waited and then the sound of the engines powering up and we speeded down the runway (i love the power to the 737!!) until we lifted of and we climbed out of Dublin and out over the Irish sea. we had lovely view that day not very much clouds in the sky. We cruised at 35000. We got a cup of tea or coffie and somes scones. The FA's where really friendly as they allways are with Aer Lingus.
We started our decent into Paris for runway 09 i think i am not sure about that runway. It was a bit of rough Decent into paris and low clouds at about 1500 we popped out the clouds and their was a nice view of the ground with all the cars on the motorways. It was nearly dark too. we had full flaps down and we where on final. when we got closer to the runway it really got bumpey. We hit the ground and bounced back up and then back down.
We came of the runway and taxied in to the terminal 1. Paris is a cool airport, like when you are taxiing you pass over motorways on bridges which is cool.
It took us ages to get to terminal 1 its a big airport but nothing to the size of heatrow.
We got out and went into that really weird round building which looks really old. We got our bags and headed for our coach outside the terminal.
The school tour was a big pile of s**t. Can you imagine that we drove from paris to Barcelona on a bus which took 15 hours and thats not counting the stops every 2 to 3 hours. Paris is a really nice city. The iffel tower is cool up at the top. But i don't like the food their.
PARIS TO DUBLIN.
We got home from Barcelona on the 1st of nov 2000 and we had time to spare so thats when we went up to the iffel tower and down a bit of shoping.
We got to the airport at 12:00 terminal 1 and checked in for EI525.we went up to our gate which was first class for takeing fotos of planes i seen a British Airways 757, British Midland embracer 145, Air France A340, A320, Emirates A330 kLM 737-300 Lufthansa 737-300 and lots more.
We boarded and we didn't even have to show our checkin ticket to the fella at the gate. We got to the plane another 737-500 this time it was EI-CDE. We straped in a taxied out to the runway, this time i don't know what runway it was. We did a rolling takeoff and we headed for Dublin. we climbed to 37000 and hade a lovely view of the English channel and heatrow airport from that height and the Thames river. We got the same to eat and Drink on the way back to Dublin and the FA's where very nice once again and so was the captain which kept us informed of everything. The weather was lovely that day not a cloud in the sky when we decended into dublin. We came down very low over the sea on approach and stayed low for a good while. I seen a few ships that day. then we came accross some land as we decended into Dublin for Runway 28 and it was a wonderful landing.
We taxied back to the terminal and it was all over.
The only good part about the school tour was the flights, But i would go back to paris and Barcelona again they are good cities.
