hope a.netters are all doing well

my journey actually started in LAX, with a 7am USAirways departure to PHL arriving at 2:57, but I zzzed the whole way and had an aisle seat so no really good opportunity for pics. Plus I got to the airport way late and had to run to the gate.

But here is the 2nd segment of my trip:

US4616
PHL-ITH
Scheduled departure: 4:36pm, on time
Scheduled arrival: 5:49pm, on time
1hour 13 minutes
aircraft: DASH 100/200

so after landing in PHL from LAX I took the bus from the C gates to the F gates and found my way to Sbarro where I got some pizza. Then headed over to my gate which, conveniently and surprisingly was the first one down the concourse. From the window I took some pictures

a Delta 757 parked across, heading I presume to Atlanta or another DL hub.

A USAirways and Southwest 737. Following the SW plane there were more Southwests, Air Canada, Lufthansa. Sorry I didn't take pics of those!

after boarding the plane and taxiing, I got a nice overview of the Express gates.

Having lined up on the runway, with the sun at the very left, I tried to take a picture of these planes. Visible is a BA 777. The big obstruction at the top is part of my plane

After departing we turned left a bit, and I tried to get a shot of PHL

another bad attempt at a panoramic view

Hope you enjoyed the report and I'm really sorry for the poor quality of the photos. Thanks for reading!

Great trip report, and has some nice pictures! I enjoyed reading it!
Is it me, or do the old US colours just work well on the DASH?

I've done that trip dozens of times! I bet most of my ex-coworkers at ITH are still there handling the US flights. I LOVE Ithaca!

That is the first time I've ever seen a Dash unloaded with a beltloader! In Philly the guys just jump in there and hand them out.

Well...I Just read your trip report. Pictures are always good. Thanks for taking them (I only read trip reports with pictures).

I have several questions though..
None of these questions are answered in your trip report..

1, What was your flight date?
2, What about the in flight service?
3, What was the load factor?
4, What about the seat pitch?
5, Did the captain say "Welcome aboard US Airways Express flight 4616, operated by Piedmont" or what?

Thanks  Smile

hey, thanks for your responses everyone!

sorry i didn't answer those questions pensacola guy, so here they are!:

1) flight date was Monday, Jan 16 2006
2) inflight service was adequate. drinks were served, water and sodas, on a tray brought around by the sole f/a. Also, small bags of pretzels were handed out
3) load factor was 100%. Mostly college students going back, I would say (including myself)
4) Seat pitch sucked for me. I was at very back, so against a wall. Plus next to window, so I had like a slant to my left and so I had to sit kind of slanted and crooked, kinda sideways ( I think I made my point haha!), but all was good (having a huge backpack in front of me didn't help much haah!). It was still cool nonetheless.
5) At the end of the flight, the pilot announced a thank you for flying with USAirways on behalf of Piedmont, or something along those lines.

I hope that helped!

I went to Cornell, although by my senior year I was so fed up with classes I basically just worked full time at ITH for US and took enough tests to graduate  Silly.

Hi!

Very nice report and very nice pictures too....it came to my mind August 2001 when I landed from STL in a ERJ145 from USAir Express and after a few hours down town PHL ( wonderfull city indeed!!! ) a return to the airport and boarding BA 744 G-BYGG back to LHR. I had one of the most memorable flights of my life!!! Comparing your photos and my time there I still recall a few AA 727-200's, a DL 727-200 and a AC DC-9-32....things changed a lot after almost 5 years!!!
Regards
