I'm just interested to see what your opinion is on the airline with the best and worst food. I'm talking about real food here, not which airline has the best peanuts!  Smile

I have to say SIA has good food, so does JAL!
UAL is ok.

Worst would have to CO (no offense).

In my opinion, Midwest Express is the best as far as food goes. There food is better then most resturants.

Best food - Emirates (Y class), BA (J class) SQ (F class)

Worst food - take a pick from United, Delta, Continental - in fact any airline where I am informed that a cookie - no matter how fancy - is actually a cultured part of a 'meal' in J or F class!
Aer Lingus food is also bad.

I used to think the brain is the most fascinating part of my body. But, hey, who is telling me that?

Singapore has the best food as long as it is meat. Stay away from their fish dishes as they are dry. They also feed you a lot and often. Good service overall

I have just returned from a 10 day trip to NZ routing Mel - Wellington - Auckland - Mel, on Air New Zealand.

Food in economy on both flights was excellent. On the outbound sector on a 737-300 we were even served an icecream for dessert.
Enroute home 767-200, food was equally good. Plenty of it, tasty and even slightly healthy.

A big improvement over Ansetts dismal offerings!!

OA has nice food, comparing to BA or AF. Everyone has told me that the food in both airlines was not very nice.

Best Food: Ansett International.

The personal chef on AN's international flights is absolutely fantastic. The food always stunning!

Second place would go to TG, SIA and AF.

On the domestic side, both AN & QF serve reasonable meals in Economy but AN outshines in the Biz class department.

Worst Food: International flights with any American Airline. AerLingus.

On the domestic side, most American carriers that serve meals are usually dreadful (with the exception of Midwest Express). Disgusting memories come to hand of Delta's doggie bags.. LH medium / short haul flights meals on domestic were pretty bad also.

Cheers,

mb

LH´s food on medium/short haul flights can´t be bad!
The reason? - there´s no food (in Y)! But it´s ok, I don´t expect food on a 25min hop from FRA to HAJ.

best wishes,
chris

In Europe Swissair and Crossair offers by the far the best food. Swissair food on longhaul flights is mostly great, tasty and very healthy food. I like it always very much. American Airlines food is also very good.
British Airways food on ZRH-LGW flight was just horrible. KL and NW food is ok, not more.
Malaysian Airlines is really excellent. They are the best from all. Very good airline.

In my experience:

very good food: AF, UA, JY (yes, tiny little BritishEuropean! We once had a very competitive salmon and parsley parcel on a short CDG-BHX hop!)

ok-food, but expected better: QF, KL (intercontinental), AR, AM

edible but forgettable: CO, MX, GA, KL (short-haul)

Enjoy your meal!

I forgot to mention that no airline (in my mostly Economy-class flying experience) has ever ever come up with a decent piece of bread! (by bread I mean roll or baguette style).

Their food may be very good or just edible, wine is usually great, but bread? Always bad!! =(

Minor detail? I don't know, but I love bread and I've always felt quite disappointed by what I'v been offered while flying.

Next time I shall bring my own on board!

I have always had excellent meals on both Thai and Singapore but the stand out for me is Kuwait Airways. They are a favourite of mine in every regard and I have absolutley no idea what I have been eating but gees it was nice.
