Well I still have some pics from when I went to RSW a year ago so I was bored and decided to write a trip report.  Cool I dont remember the dates exactly and all the flight info so bear with me. My dad, brother, uncle, aunt, and I were heading down for a 4 day weekend stay at RSW on NW since I had a 4 day weekend with no school Mon. or Fri. So anyways our flight was scheduled to leave at 7:15 a.m. so I think I woke up at about 3:30 or so and we were off to pick up my aunt and uncle and then over to MKE.

When we got to MKE it was still dark and very cold for me since I only had a sweatshirt. We headed to check in and get our tickets and I remember that the NW was not very active and we got through that pretty quick. There was not much to do so we got into the security line and it took us about 15-20 minutes to get through that. We still had plenty of time before boarding so I walked around and did some spotting, and my camera at that time was way to crappy to take any decent enough shots at night so yeah you get the picture.  melting  At that time NW still had all of its flights to LGA, BOS, DCA, etc. At our gate ther was an A320 getting ready to go to DTW and our A319 was waiting behind on the pad. It was in the new so this would be my first time flying with NW's new colors.

So after just sittin around for a bit it was time to board. Boarding went by quickly and I headed to my seat which was in the second to last row of the aircraft. I was pleased since I always like sitting behind the wing.  Silly We pushed back soon after and headed out to 19R. There was no one in front of us for departure but there was some landing traffic on another runway so there was a short wait. Once it was clear the engines ignitited and we nstarted our roll down 19R. We took off using just about 2/3 of the runway. Climbout was smooth while we passed through some clouds and were greeted with the warm sunlight soon after.

This flight was very uneventful. I only remember getting served a drink. The flight went by pretty fast and before you knew it we were descending. I managed to get this shot of TPA while on approach into RSW.

There was no turbulence on this flight what so ever from takeoff to landing. We flew along the coastline and then made a bit of a charp turn to the east to line up for final into RSW.

Our flightpath took us over a couple of highways and nieghbors hoods as we got lower and lower. I had some kind of feeling like the pilot was really trying to loose altitude and speed becuase from time to time it felt like we were gliding or whatever its kinda hard to explain.  blockhead  After what seemed like a very long final approach for me, we made a smooth touchdown in RSW.

After clearing the runway there was a short taxi to the gate and I took this shot of some aircraft at the gate.

Deplang was quick and so was getting our luggage. We went to rent our car and then headed to our hotel for a nice break from the icy, cold Wisconsin weather.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our hotel in Florida was pretty good compared to some of the other ones we saw on the way. The weather was good except you might make a case of some strong, chilly breezes that came in from time to time. We went to this national wildlife reserve where you pay $75 and you get to go inside it and walk around or whatever and there are supposed to be living aligators but we didn't see even one! What a rip off!  down  Heres some pics that I took while in RSW.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our vacation seemed to go by pretty quick but it only was 4 days so I guess that's what you have got to expect. The drive from the airport to the hotel is about an hour or so. Once we got there we turned in our car and headed inside to the terminal to check in. This time we printed out our boarding passes with those slef printing machines.

Like in MKE, security was pretty quick and we were at the gate area in no time. The flight from MKE was delayed a little but I didnt mind since I got a chance to do some spotting. I managed to catch some ATA, Sun Country, and AA.

Before long our flight from/to MKE landed and pulled up into the gate.

We boarded soon after the other passengers deplaned but sat there for another 30 minutes or so. After pushback we taxied to the runway and there was one plane in front of us. Call it coinsidence or not but it was a YX MD-80 that was headin to MKE to!!! I just thought that was pretty cool. Takeoff was powerful and a steep climbout. I took this shot during climb out.

Just like the flight from MKE, this one was very uneventful. Standard drink service and the flight went by quick. During decent there was some very light turbulence. We flew through the clouds for about 5 minutes or so and then broke out and were flying right over lake Michigan. At first I thought that we were gonna come in from the east but then realized we were going to land on 1R. During approach I was able to see my school as well as my house!!!

A smooth touchdown put the icing on the cake for this trip.

After exiting the runway I took this shot showing a lot of the YX gates.

We parked at the same gate that we departed from a couple of days ago. There was no other NW plane parked at concourse E but there was 1 CO express jet. We got our luggage soon after and headed back home. Well this is my second trip report so I hope it was alright even it having been a year ago.

Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.

Yes that was for our whole group. We did see some baby racoons and some big birds though.
